5 Balls
• Boye Aluminum Circular Knitting Needles 29 inches Size 10
• Lion Brand Stitch Markers
• Large-Eye Blunt Needles (Set of 6)

GAUGE:

11 sts = about 4 in. (10 cm) over Lace Pattern and Seed st. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you
match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials
specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm]
square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or
needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

sk2p slip 1 st as if to knit, knit 2 sts together, pass slipped stitch over - 2 sts decreased.
ssk (slip, slip, knit)- slip next 2 sts as if to knit, one at a time to right needle, insert left needle into fronts of these 2
sts and knit them together - 1 st decreased.

NOTES:

1. Circular needle is used to accommodate large number of sts. Work back and forth on circular needle as if
working on straight needles.
2. Lace Pattern is a multiple of 12 sts + 1 and is worked over center 85 sts of the Afghan. Place a marker
after every 12-st rep of Lace Pattern and count your sts after every row to be sure you have 12 sts in every
rep. On Row 19 of the Lace Pattern, the pattern rep will shift one st to the right, you will need to move your
markers on this row, then move markers back one st to the left to begin Row 1 of the Lace Pattern.

AFGHAN
Cast on 91 sts.
Rows 1 -4: Work in Seed st.
Row 5: Work in Seed st as established over first 3 sts, p to last 3 sts, work in Seed st to end of row.
Row 6: Work 3 sts in Seed st as established, work Row 1 of Lace Pattern over next 85 sts, placing a marker after every 12 -st rep of
Lace Pattern, work last 3 sts in Seed st as established.
Continue as established, keeping first and last 3 sts in Seed st and working Lace Pattern over center 85 sts, until Rows 1-20 of Lace
Pattern have been worked a total of 8 times. Work 4 rows in Seed st. Bind off.
FINISHING
