spring balance in Diagram 9.1(a) is the actual weight while the reading of the spring balance
in Diagram 9.1(b) and 9.1(c) are known as the apparent weight.

suspended with loads of same mass. Both spring arrangements are pulled with forces F1 and
F2 so that both have the same extension before being released to oscillate.
