Title: Why We Need to Go to Church IV

Key Text/s: “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a
ransom for many.”– Mark 10:45

Our connection to God will open the doors of the amazing things He has in store for us. As what He said in
Joshua 3:5, we should consecrate ourselves by obeying to His word and submitting to His plans and will for
us.

I. Why do we need to go to church?

A. Church is a place to belong
1. You are the ambassador of Christ.
2. Every Christian has a physical and spiritual family.
3. We are a functional church. The church is us
4. When you are connected to God, you are connected to the people.
B. Church is a place of focused worship
1. Worship is not about the singing but giving your all to God in awe.
2. “Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul
and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. –Matthew
22:37-38
3. Three ways to worship
a. By singing and dancing songs of praise to Him
b. By giving something to Him for the advancement of His kingdm
c. By listening to His word
C. Church is a place to helps us grow
1. We are designed to grow.
2. One manifestation that we are growing is we learn how to have the
unconditional love that Jesus have for us.
3. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that
whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” –John 3:16
4. Our final authority is the Bible and the word of God. We live to have standards.
D. Church is a place to serve
1. “So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the
evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so
that the body of Christ may be built up.” –Ephesians 4:11-12
2. We are trained to serve.
3. Mark 10:45 describes the best what real service really is.
4. Service should be done beyond your limits, even if it costs your life.
5. If we want to serve and love, we should be connected to God.
6. To be good is not enough, we need to be godly.
7. If you are close to God, you will automaticlly serve Him. You can make the
people around you be close to God as well.
8. Whatever you have, use it for the service for the Lord.
9. Nobody wants a broken relationship. If there’s no God in a relationship, it will not
be eternal.
10. The reason why you have a relationship is because you are divinely
connected.
11. There is always a God who will intervene.
12. Our service should start to our families, by loving them with all of our
hearts, mind, soul and strength.
13. Ways how to serve:
1. Find the needs and meet their needs
2. It’s all about the people
a. It’s not about we are doing something but we are doing
something for the benefit of others.
3. It should be effective, efficient and excellent.
 4. It’s not for self-service; It’s for works for service.

Conclusion:
In Hebrews 10:24-25, it is said that we should not give up in meeting together because the day is
approaching, and because of that we should double our efforts to invite and bring people back to church.
In this way, we are serving God by using what we have right now: our salvation. We should always
remember that we are saved not for the sake of salvation itself but Jesus saved us to save other people by
giving our all, and that is real service.
