1. Suspension clamp shall be made of alwnipium alloy of

designation 4635 (IS:~17-1975) of tensile strength
greater than 200 N/mm (20.5 Kg£/mm2) and shall be
capable of holding aluminium alloy messenger wire of
5.8mm or 6.8mm compacteddia. The eye hooks ,shall be
made of forged steel (IS:2004) or mild steel (1S:1570).

2. The clamp shall be provided with black weather-resistant

plastic coating of atleast Imm thickness to prevent the
insulation of the' phase conductors from chafing due to
rubbing against the clamp.

3. Suspens i on clamp a ssembly shall provide sufficient

flexibility to allow free movement of the clamp a t both
