AIRPOT
INTRODUCTION
An airport is an aerodrome with facilities for commercial aviation flights to take off and land. Airports often
have facilities to store and maintain aircraft, and a control tower. An airport consists of a landing area, which
comprises an aerially accessible open space including at least one operationally active surface such as a
runway for a plane to take off or a helipad, and often includes adjacent utility buildings such as control
towers, hangars and terminals. Larger airports may have fixed base operator services, airport aprons, air
traffic control centres, passenger facilities such as restaurants and lounges, and emergency services.
AIMS
An international airport is an airport that offers customs and immigration facilities for passengers travelling
between countries. International airports are typically larger than domestic airports and often feature longer
runways and facilities to accommodate the heavier aircraft commonly used for international and
intercontinental travel. International airports often also host domestic flights.
OBJECTIVES
Buildings, operations and management have become increasingly sophisticated since the mid 20th century,
when international airports began to provide infrastructure for international civilian flights. Detailed technical
standards have been developed to ensure safety and common coding systems implemented to provide
global consistency. The physical structures that serve millions of individual passengers and flights are among
the most complex and interconnected in the world. Reasons for selection of particular Topic
Anticipating growth in passenger traffic,. The airport would be developed in two phases. In the first phase of
development includes expansion of the existing terminal building to increase the passenger handling
capacity, construction of a visitors lounge and new car parking facilities. .

ABOUT SITE
A new civil air terminal at Chakeri Airport will be built on a 50-acre piece of land adjacent to the airport
boundary. The state government has been requested to hand over 50 acres of land identified by AAI free of cost
for the development of civil enclave at Chakeri airport and also provide a 4-lane approach road the proposed

Indira Gandhi International Airport Indira Gandhi International Airport serves as the primary civilian
aviation hub for the National Capital Region of Delhi, India. The airport, spread over an area of 5,106 acres
(2,066 ha), is situated in Palam, 15 km (9.3 mi) south-west of the New Delhi railway station and 16 km (9.9
mi) from New Delhi city centre. Named after Indira Gandhi, a former Prime Minister of India. It is the busiest
airport in the country in terms of passenger traffic and international traffic busiest airport in India since 2009.
It is the second busiest airport in the country in terms of cargo traffic after Mumbai. With the commencement
of operations at Terminal 3 in 2010, it became India's and South Asia's largest aviation hub, with a current
capacity of handling more than 62 million passengers.
John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York City John F. Kennedy International Airport is a major

INTRODUCTION
Man has always built monumental structures for the gods. including temples, pyramids and cathedrals which
pointed to the sky; however, today’s monuments, i.e. tall buildings, symbolize power, richness, prestige, and
glory. The major difficulty, from the ancient efforts to reach heaven with the Tower of Babel to the world’s
tallest building — Bhurj Khalifa. has been to overcome the limitations of nature with human ingenuity.
Until the introduction of modem metal frame construction, advent of electricity, fireprxfing, and most
importantly elevator, tall building actually was not practical. These technological innovations were first
utilized in the Home Insurance Building (1885). and by the advances in these innovations, tall buildings
become more and more practical.
Today, it is virtually impossible to imagine a major city without tall buildings. Tall buildings arc the most
famous landmarks of cities, symbols of power, dominance of human ingenuity over natural world,
confidence in technology and a mark of national pride; and besides these, the importance of tall buildings in
the contemporary urban development is without doubt ever increasing despite their several undeniable
negative effects on the quality of urban life.

Burj Khalifa
The Burj Khalifa known as the Burj Dubai before its inauguration in 2010, is a skyscraper in Dubai, United
Arab Emirates. With a total height of 829.8 m (2,722 ft) and a roof height (excluding antenna) of 828 m (2,717 ft),
the Burj Khalifa has been the tallest structure in the world since its topping out in late 2008.[4][9]
Construction of the Burj Khalifa began in 2004, with the exterior completed five years later in 2009. The primary
structure is reinforced concrete. The building was opened in 2010 as part of a new development
called Downtown Dubai. It is designed to be the centrepiece of large-scale, mixed-use development. The
decision to construct the building is reportedly based on the government's decision to diversify from an oil-based
economy, and for Dubai to gain international recognition. The building was originally named Burj Dubai but was
renamed in honour of the ruler of Abu Dhabi and president of the United Arab Emirates, Khalifa bin Zayed Al
Nahyan;[3] Abu Dhabi and the UAE government lent Dubai money to pay its debts. The building broke numerous
height records, including its designation as the tallest building in the world
ABOUT SITE
Area :
Noida, being the most congested city of India, has to inevitably face the boom of skyscraper construction. The city’s
capacity to hold this event can be questioned and rise emerges for a sustainable solution of skyscraper complex
development. Build on a site located in noida required an intensive project response to its urban environment and
innovative solutions to resolve the existing urban issues before moving towards a healthy lifestyle of users.
Addressing the urban issues of Indian cities like Population Explosion, Scarcity of Housing, Less land for horizontal
expansion is the path chosen for developing an ideal integrated high rise model which could be implemented in the
upcoming boom of skyscraper construction.
INTRODUCTION
Looking into the future of India 2050 as a superpower, we can clearly see its Metropolitan cities like Mumbai,
Guragaon, Ahmedabad, Bangalore ,noida as technology based, economy generating mammoths having tall vertical
skylines. The future of the Indian cities can be envisioned as a collection of utopian settlements with tall skylines and
self-efficient ecological living systems comprised majorly of skyscrapers. The country needs to address its
shortcomings in order to achieve a higher pace on the journey towards a superpower which can be produced by
unfolding the potentials of Skyscraper Architecture into a VERTICAL CITY itself
AIM
magining the Vertical City, is a concept aiming to develop a system which is not just a high end housing infrastructure
but is a vessel that houses a justified complex network of functions present in a horizontal city hoisted vertically so as
to create a similar ambience with a balance of comfort and elegance in the user’s lifestyle
The Vertical City aims in becoming an ideal integrated city contained within a massive vertical structure, allowing
maximum conservation of the surrounding environment. It doesn’t necessarily target a particular group of people but is
designed to address the different sections of Indian demographics.
• Analysis and incorporating bloc limatic design principles thr high rise mixed use development.
