History of Christ the King College of Science and Technology

Education has been in the life-blood of the Yasons who are natives of Muntinlupa
City. Dr. Jose V. Yason Jr., the founding Chairman of the Christ the King College
of Science and Technology (CKCST), has been imbued with the advocacy of education-
for-all since the early years of his uncles and aunts were holders of degrees in
education. It is therefore not a surprise that the Chairman himself dreamt of an
educational institution which led to the birth of Christ the King School of
Muntinlupa Foundation Inc. (CKSM) whose incorporators are his spouse Aida, and sons
David, Jay Michael and Jose III.

It was not long after that the founder's noble mission was buoyed up and it
enchance his desire to address an equitable economic acumen through skilled-based
training. His philosophy is focused on the belief that progress of the people is
hinged on their technological grasp and this serves as its moral fiber in the
development of socio-economic, political and cultural relief.

After nurturing CKSM for several years since 1994, Christ the King Technical School
was established in the year 2002. This resulted from a take-over of an existing
technical school. It offered several programs, notably technical courses (Computer,
Secretarial, Office Management, Automotive, and Caregiver Courses).

Towards the end of the year 2008, Christ the King Technical School was reorganized.
It amended its name to Christ the King College of Science and Technology (CKCST).
Intensification of existing programs and creation of additional programs have been
the formula in addressing the perennial problems of education which virtually
addressed the training needs of the different stakeholders. Thus, programs being
offered now are pointing to the direction of Business Management, Information and
Communications Technology, Tourism, Hotel and Hospitality Management and Services,
Secondary and Elementary Education Programs and many other Competency-Based
Programs, Eventually, CKCST will be embarking on developmental programs in Metal
Arts Engineering leading to Ship Building Technology, Welding, Pipe Fitting and
Customized Automotive Parts Manufacturing.

Innovative Transformation in the Jargons of education and training resulted in the

conception of unconventional learning paradigms specifically heading towards the
direction of the Dual-training system, traning-cum production and technology
transfer strategies.

CKCST is a non-stock, non-profit corporation(whose incorporators emanated from the

founding Charman's family), currently (2012-2013) has the following members as
