Hello,

My name is Oliver and I am writing to express interest in working with Uneek 4x4. I hold an
honours degree in mechanical engineering, a technical engineering diploma and two years
of industry experience.
I have undertaken 2 courses in SolidWorks and tinker with the program in my spare time.
I'm extremely confident my drafting skills would be of value for this role and I would be
thrilled at the opportunity to use them on a daily basis. More importantly, I’m into 4WDing.

I have primarily worked as a project engineer for a wind tunnel facility and an
environmental planning consultancy in the acoustics department (current). I have also
worked as an academic research assistant at the school of mechanical and manufacturing
engineering in UNSW.
Flexing creative muscle has been a crucial part in each of my previous roles. I have been
responsible for developing practical solutions to aerodynamic and acoustical problems –
applied to small residential sites, enormous coal mines and anything in between. This has
involved experimental modeling, computational simulations, number crunching in excel and
technical report writing. As a research assistant, I performed extensive literature reviews
and participated in brainstorming sessions with senior lectures. I was responsible for
drafting conference papers and designing spreadsheets such as fuel burn and cost-benefit
calculators.
I’m no stranger to hands-on engineering; my previous roles involved plenty of lab and field
work. I have used a wide variety of instruments necessary for noise and vibration
monitoring, and wind tunnel experiments. This would often involve troubleshooting,
maintenance, repair and the development of intuitive manuals.
I have a high level of confidence in communicating with other professionals. As a project
engineer, I would regularly liaise with architects, facade engineers, landscapers, operations
managers and property developers among others.
I’m currently in the process of relocating from Sydney to a permanent residence in
Southbank with my growing family. I’m looking for a role in the area where previous
experience with SolidWorks and hands-on engineering would be valued.
I have demonstrated a great deal of adaptability through my work history and commitment
