Just Like An Ocean Of Memories

By Katherine Ayala By Kimberly L. Briones

Just like a glass My family is the ocean around us.

my heart is broken My father is the hurricane,

Just like a star knocking anything and everybody out of his

path.
you light up my life
My mother is the sunshine after the storm
Just like a rose (my father),

that blooms it's beauty clearing and calming everything else.

Just like the rain

that never stops crying My oldest brother is the sand,

Just like another human being kicked and blown away by my dad,

you let go of me but warmed with care by my mom.

Just like others

you broke my heart My oldest sister is the breeze in the wind,

Just like clouds cool, quiet, and there when you need her.

you are soft My other two brothers are the stingrays,

Just like bullets dangerous, but also willing to fight anyone

who comes along.
that you shot into my heart

And I,

I am an old ship at the bottom of the sea,

lost, abandoned, but full of memories.

A Whisper on the Wind Dragon Eyes
By Phyllis Babcock By Emile Pinet
I was a gentle whisper upon the wind She enters the room like a storm
That swept over the green valleys thunder rumbling within her wake.
I climbed the height of the highest mountain And a deluge of tears follow
And murmured softly as I descended the as the very ground seems to quake.
slopes

I picked up speed and started moving swiftly

She’s an explosion of fireworks
Over the plateau and the sun swept plains
as spectacular as the dawn.
I picked up speed and started to howl
And unleashing flames of fury
Whistling around corners and pushing gust
after gust in a blinding flash, she is gone.

Bending the trees till they touched the earth

I reached the open water and the lapping A lady to be reckoned with
waves became huge swells
fire flares in her dragon eyes.
Higher and higher went the waves until the
white caps hit the shore And strikes fear in the hearts of men

I took the rain and pelted it against the earth exposing their secrets and lies.

Harder and harder as if in an angry rage

Then I blew my self out on the open ocean A source of fiery energy
waves
her eyes illuminate the night.
Exhausted, I once again became a whisper
And her aura intensifies
on the wind
to a glow of exquisite light.
