The biggest change that Modi brought after becoming PM is the efficient use of
Technology (esp.. Social Media ) in Governance.
1. Narendra Modi has pioneered the use of modern technology in the
working of the Government.
2. He is using Technology like never before in Governance.
The following are the ways in which Indian government has used Technology to bring
reforms:
1) MyGov : help citizens contribute in governance by giving their opinions and views
on important issues like clean river Ganga or skill development.
2) Digital India
3.) Many programs such as Helping Women get Online , Indian SMEs Online and

showcasing India’s rich heritage and culture have been started, which will promote the
digital empowerment of citizens.

67 years after Independence, India still had a large part of the population who had no
access to banking services. This meant, they had neither any avenues for Savings, nor any
opportunity to get institutional credit. PM Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan
Yojana on 28th August to address this fundamental issue. Within a matter of months, this
scheme has radically transformed lives and futures of millions of Indians. In just over a
year, 19.72 crore bank accounts were opened. 16.8 crore Rupay cards have been issued so
far. There have been deposits worth Rs 28699.65 crores. A record 1,25,697 Bank Mitras
(Bank Correspondents) have also been deployed. It also set the Guinness World Record for
most bank accounts opened in one week 1,80,96,130.
While opening millions of bank accounts were a challenge, inducing a behavioural change
to get people start using their bank accounts was another major challenge. The no of zero
balance accounts have registered a steep fall from 76.8% in September 2014 to 32.4% in
December 2015. More than Rs 131 crore has also been availed as overdraft so far.
All this was possible because of PM Modi’s thrust and his power of galvanizing masses and
the government machinery. This enormous task was taken up in mission mode and
achieved with an exemplary partnership and participation of the government and public.
While the bank accounts have given millions of Indians access to banking services, they
have also played a major role in stopping corruption. Now, subsidies get deposited directly
in the bank accounts in the form of direct benefit transfers, eliminating leakages and scope
for any discretionary action. PAHAL Yojana, recently entered the Guinness Book of World
Records for being the world’s largest direct cash transfer scheme. Under PAHAL Yojana,
LPG subsidies are directly deposited into the bank accounts. Under this scheme, more than
14.62 crore people are receiving direct cash subsidies. This scheme has also helped identify
and block around 3.34 crore duplicate or inactive accounts, helping save thousands of
crores. Currently the Government is using Direct Benefit Transfers for around 3540
schemes and approximately Rs 40,000 crores were directly transferred to the beneficiaries
in 2015.
Once the basic banking facilities for people were in place, the NDA Government embarked
on a historic move of providing an insurance & pension cover to the citizens. Pradhan
Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana provides accident insurance worth Rs 2 Lakh at just Rs 12
per year. Pradhan Mantri Jivan Jyoti Bima Yojana provides life insurance at just Rs 330
per year. Atal Pension Yojana provides a pension of upto Rs 5000 a month depending on
the contribution. More than 9.2 crore people have enrolled for Pradhan Mantri Suraksha
Bima & almost 3 crore people have joined Pradhan Mantri Jivan Jyoti Bima Yojana.
Around 15.85 lakh people have registered for the Atal Pension Yojana.

I will say,definitely India is changing.
Some days before, I completed my trip from Ahmadabad to Somnath. Here is what I felt.
First,I want to share some images.

Now what can you notice in this Images ? What is common??
In all images,can you see any dirtiness? Each and every portion of railway station platform
,whether it is near the engine ,or the goods loading place. And do keep in mind that other
than Ahmadabad ,all other stations are small stations and despite of that the cleanliness is
eye catching. I was just first surprised and then proud by seeing consistent cleanliness on
the whole route.I mean each station was literally shining !
Isn't this change?
Also,on Veraval junction I heard repeated announcements of appealing the passengers not
to throw waste on station and provision of fine of 500 rupees on the guilty.
In train from Veraval to Ahmadabad , even in sleeper class , the official came for
inspection of electric points,fans and lights and if anything was found defective , there
were technicians with him to fix the thing immediately.
This is the customer service I was now getting in Indian Railways, which was just a
dream in not so distant past.
So,if you ask me, I will once again say that India is changing towards better.

I would like to mention a recent incidence that happened with me. My cousin sister went
on a family vacation to HongKong with her family. On her last day while going back to
the airport to return back to India, she checked her bag and found her passport missing.
After searching it everywhere, loads of quarrels within family, they did not find it anywhere
and had to cancel their tickets. So she called me up from the airport at around 9pm (Hong
Kong time, it was a Saturday) to book a hotel since she did not have a place to stay there.
As soon as i came to know about it I tweeted the problem to General Vk Singh & Sushma
Swaraj (Minister of External Affairs) regarding the same. (the picture and links have been
attached below).
To my surprise within 1520 minutes Gen Vk Singh replied via a tweet and then a private
message followed with a very detailed reply on what is the procedure and what should be
done. It was a great relief since the passport seva site was down for maintenance on the
same night from 10 pm to 6 am next morning, so we had no place to find resourceful
information.
Since it was late night the number given by Vk Singh wasn't picked up by anyone, but to
the least it made my sister and her family sleep without tension knowing someone (the
govt.) is there for us.
The next day morning (Sunday) again a surprise, she got a call from the embassy of India,
Hong Kong, telling her to bring FIR or written police report of the lost passport, 4 passport
photographs of hers and whatever documents she has the next day (Offices were closed on
Sunday). He clearly mentioned that he was given her number from a minister's office in
India although he did not mention the name (it was pretty obvious).
And the next day as soon as she went to the embassy the whole process was smooth and
professional, she got her emergency certificate within 3 hours and returned back to India
the same night.
This is development for me, when you know the government listens & responds in the
situation of emergencies. Its a perfect thanks for being there story. :)

The best way to show the change and simultaneously alter the human’s perspective is
simply by doing selfless work.
That’s what Modi government believes in I think.
Look at the example below. A die hard Anti Modi person bestowing praises in heaps by not
giving any free reservation/free food/ free water but by just showing sheer dedication to
the citizen of the country.
This is what he used to think.
Faizan and his wife Sana Khan were planning a trip to Italy and 2 days before the
trip, Sana Lost her passport and Faizan had to leave without Sana.When in distress,

"Yes India is changing under Modi Government."
The reason is down below, why I'm saying this.
I am a BSNL Broadband user for last 1 year. One day I got a call on my BSNL Landline
number from BSNL Hungama Services regarding their new Internet entertainment
package, in which one can download unlimited Songs, movies, games by subscribing for
which they'll be charged around 500600 rs. Per month extra over their regular
Broadband Bill. The representative talked to me for 15 min. and at last I told him not to
activate any such plans on my number,I repeated this 2 to 3 times and he assured me for
the same. After one month (March) I received my Internet bill of 1500/ which used to be
around 950/ earlier. When I enquired about it in BSNL office they told me that I've
subscribed Hungama services by myself through the Customer Representative. I told them
that I strictly refused him to activate any kind of additional plan, but no they keep refusing
my point. At last when I asked them what should I do to unsubscribe now, they told me to
write a formal letter and drop it into BSNL complaint box, That's it..!! (They didn't
guaranteed that i'll be unsubscribed by this.) I came back home and started calling all the
Helpline numbers available on website.
BSNL Helpline Number Sorry SIR we can only help you about Landline issue.
Hungama Helpline Number Please Stay on line and wait,our service representatives are
busy in folling other customers.
Kept trying these two for 3 days but received no helpful response.
Then I decided to forward a mail to
Shri Ravishankar Prasad

at his official email adress mcit@gov.in explaining all the matter briefly and mentioned
my previous bill in it and 1 day after that I recieved this from Team BSNL Hungama
(Sorry can't find the sent Mail)
At the time when I was sending the Mail my expectation was zero to get any kind of help
from there as the Ministry use to receive Lakhs of mails daily from all over the India, but I
was so happy and amazed by this fast response from any government department,So yes
Acche Din Indeed..!! :)

Recently, I was booking a ticket on IRCTC, due to heavy rush during festival time, i didn’t
get a confirmed ticket. I booked it, and after few days, again visited the site to check the
status. There i saw one new option i.e. Vikalp Scheme. I googled it and found this new
thing to be very amazing and helpful for waitlisted passengers.
The facility named as Vikalp offers passengers booked under the scheme will be given an
option for getting alternate accommodation in another train if they do not get confirmed
berths in the trains of their choice.
Under the scheme, waitlisted passengers can give choice to opt for Vikalp facility to get
confirmed berths in alternate trains if they are getting waitlisted ticket in the train of their
choice.
Once a Vikalp passenger has been allotted alternate accommodation, journey
modification will not be permitted. No extra charges are taken from passenger or any
refund is provided for difference of fare.
Currently the Vikalp is already implemented in DelhiJammu and DelhiLucknow sectors
and is being extended to DelhiHowrah, DelhiMumbai, DelhiChennai, DelhiBangalore
and DelhiSecunderabad routes.
These little things are actually contributing large towards the countries overall
development. Even though they are not easily noticeable, but still very useful in many
cases.

I came across this news today
Modi Sarkar mala madat pahije (translation Modi government I need help)," wrote
Vaishali Yadav in a letter to the Prime Minister. The sixyearold from Hadapsar had a
hole in her heart and was too poor for surgery. And, five days after posting that letter with
her school identity card, Modi answered. Vaishali got a free surgery done this week at
Ruby Hall Clinic, after a letter from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) prompted the
district collector to convene a meeting with representatives from all Pune hospitals.
Vaishali, who studies at Pradnya Shishu Vihar school in Phursungi, belongs to the below
poverty line (BPL) category and couldn't afford to get her operation done in any Pune
hospital. She also lacked BPL documents, which prevented her from availing of any BPL
heath scheme of the government. She resides with her uncle, Pratap Yadav, a small time
painter, who even had to sell the girl's only toy, a cycle, for a mere Rs 90 so that he can buy
her medicines. So, she decided to write a letter directly to the PM.
Speaking to Mirror, Vaishali said, "I saw my kaka sitting sadly after being rejected by many
hospitals. Just then, Modi appeared on the television screen. I brought out a pen and
paper and said I want to write to the PM about my condition, so that my operation can be
done for free. And, surprisingly, my kaka agreed. I tore a page from my notebook and
wrote everything to Modi, right from my heart condition to being extremely poor."
Yadav added, "Since we lack any proper address, we chose to take her school's ID card,
stuck it onto the letter and posted it. We never thought it would receive any response. But,
only five days on, a few people from the school came looking for Vaishali and me. We were
told the district collector and district health officer were looking for us. Immediately, a
meeting was called by the collector, where hospitals from Pune were called and the letter
from PMO saying "help the girl accordingly" was widely discussed. Ruby Hall Clinic
immediately chose to help us for free and our operation was done this week."
District civil surgeon Dr Sanjay Deshmukh, who had called the meeting along with district
collector Saurabh Rao, was shocked to see the PM's letter, which reached on May 25 with
the girl's letter attached. "It lacked any phone number of the girl or her parents. So, we
approached the patient's school as it had her ID card. That's how we located her. Ruby
Hall Clinic immediately came forward and, within nine days of contacting the patient, the
surgery was performed according to the PM's wishes," he explained.
This answer might not be apt for the question asked but it somehow shows that our
government is there for us if required. This is a serious change for good.

I took a cab from Pune Railway Station. Generally I try to communicate with cabbies,
hence I took the front seat beside the driver and we started.
I asked him from where did he belong, to which he politely responded, ‘Latur’. For those
of us who don’t much about this place, this is one of the worst drought hit cities in
Maharashtra this year. It was also in news regarding the train which was started for
supplying water to this place.
I curiosity began as I knew the situation of the place. I asked him about his family,
someone who was staying there and how things were difficult there to manage.
He said and I quote, ‘Jyada buri haalat nai hai sir. Jitna socha tha usse to
bahut acche se log reh rahe. Sarkar ne paani ka bahut accha system kar
rakha hai. Aisa pehle kabhi na dekha tha. Koi taklif nai hai. Din bhar me ek
baar har insaan ko 2 bade patile me paani mil jaate hain, na jyada na kam.
Yehi kaafi hai. Log ye nai samajh paate ki bhookhe pyaase aadmi ko bas ek
chath, roti aur paani hi chahiye sir. Ye to bade sheher me aake khwahishen
jaag jaati hain, warna jarurat to insaan ki aaj bhi bas itni si hi hai’.
Translated ‘The situation is not too bad, in fact its far better than we had expected. Being
known to living in a drought hit state, we are too good and surviving well. We are very
much happy and satisfied with the govt. this time. This had never happened before. People
are easily getting 2 big pitchers of water everyday per person, which is enough to carry all
activities throughtout the day. Most of us fail to understand that a person who is poor,
hungry & thirsty, needs this only. Necessities and wants arise when you move to a big city,
otherwise even today this is the only requirement at the grass root level.’

While purchasing dress for children from small shop (8ft x 8ft) near Shanivar wada in
Pune couple of days back, had a casual conversation with the shopkeeper. It went as below

The conversation took place in Hindi, I have written the translated version in curly braces.
Me : Bhaiyya, last price kya doge?
{What is the final price ? (In India, it is a bargaining tactics)}
Shopkeeper : Rs 300
Me : Aur kam nahi hoga?
{Won’t it be any lesser? }
Shokeeper : Market me bahut mandi hai bhai sahab. Is liye nahi possaega..
{There is not much profit nowadays, the market is going slow, hence won’t be able to
afford less}
Me : oh, sahi mein? Aisa kyon? ...
{oh really, why so ? (thinking this to be typical business owner statement to all costumers
as excuse for not reducing the price)}
Shopkeeper : Yeh sab Modi ke kaaran hai {All this is due to Modi}

that there are millions of people like this shopkeeper in this country, who are changing.
They have started keeping nation’s interest above their own. And they are changing India.

Keeping aside all the numerous Twitter responses, digital India initiatives, tours, speeches,
schemes, I would like to point at a very small but extremely powerful feature/tool that the
government has launched, which has made me its fan. The FEEDBACK initiative or as
the the government is naming it as “Jan Bhagidari”. I have always believed in the power
of feedback whether positive or negative and believe that only this tool has the power to
bring a change in any authority. Yesterday there was an announcement in the newspaper
regarding positions available in air force, and I being curious or a confused engineer went
at Career Air Force to see the announcement and details regarding the same but was
greeted by a popup which had various links and also included the Rate My Government
option(Attached are the images for the same).
In any gathering(whether family or friends), politics is the favourite topic and we all do
have some opinions about the working of the government(mostly criticizing) and what
policies needs change. I always felt, all these discussions had no use as there is no way that
these ideas will ever reach the government, but now we have a portal through which we
can rate the government and give them our opinions. Also to include everyone and make
the survey as unbiased as possible there is also a toll free number through which the
audience not having access to internet can give their responses.
The excerpt stating the same:

Although the first part of the survey looks like the government is kind of advertising its
policies, which is still a good thing as I had not heard of many of them, the second part is
the true test which has a 5 point rating system of each of the policies. Although I feel that
there should have been a paragraph type response part also so that we can actually
express our views but I get it that it would have been equally difficult to analyse that result.
Also I thought that I would find a similar pop up on all other government website but
didn’t quite get the results.

India is certainly changing under the reign of Narendra Modi. There is transparency of
work. We have proof that the government is functioning well. The greatest and most
effective tool used by the Modi Govt. is the electronic or digital media and the social media.
You can now directly write to the Prime Minister's Office(PMO). Just visit
www.pmindia.gov.in and you have the option to interact with the PM.
Recently I wrote to the PMO on an issue and they responded. Yes, and I got to know who
was handling the issue, under what department and everything else. Now that's what you
call transparency. I wrote to PMO on 18 May, 2016. Here's the screenshot.
And they sent me a letter by post and email on 6 June, 2016. Here's the picture of the
letter.
And yes, I think the image of India has changed too. Seriously every project Indian Govt.
has started is in full effect. Swach Bharat Abhiyan is another one. Really, the Modi Govt. is
perfectly defining Democracy:

The various projects started by Sri Narendra Modi expect the people to contribute. May it
be Make in India or the infamous Swach Bharat Abhiyan. The people are full of energy

The Indian Railways, which used to be known for dirty platforms and coaches, enervating
delays, and decision making at a snail's speed couple of years ago from 2015, can now
definitely be seen otherwise.
One of such swift actions happened yesterday(Friday: 22 April, 2016), when a "special"
train(MumbaiGorakhpur service), which didn't exist until Friday, was cobbled in a
matter of hours and flagged off on the day itself.
Such an action was taken when Manoj Sinha , who is minister of state for railways,
received a number of complaints about the lack of services from Mumbai to Uttar Pradesh
and Bihar, especially when the wedding season was at peak in these two states. Due to
which a large number of passengers from north India sleeping on platforms at Mumbai
stations in their long wait for seats on existing services, reports from BJP workers stated.
On Friday, April 22, 2016 around 10:30 AM, Manoj Sinha called Railway board officials
demanding a special service to UP and Bihar, which should depart on Friday night itself.
Around 2 PM, Central Railway's(CR) Mumbai devision got the order. Two hours later,
officials at Mazgaon were asked to look for vacant coaches lying at various yards and
ensure that the train leaves CST for Gorakhpur at 11.30 pm.
CR had no spare rakes, instead they scrounged for disused coaches. 4 coaches were pulled
from Byculla yard, and 2 each from CST, Mazgaon, Wadi Bunder and Dadar. 25 railway
employees were involved in the cleanup and repairs of these coaches.

I recently got transferred from Madhya Pradesh to Maharashtra and my car is MP
registered. After 2 months, a police guy stopped me and asked for NOC. I knew that we
need to pay road tax when our vehicles get shifted from one state to other. Somehow I
convinced the police man and left towards home.
On the way, I was thinking about the justification of paying road tax again in the same
country although shifted to another state. It is very difficult for people who get transferred
frequently. So I made up my mind to raise a public grievance. I immediately logged into
Grievance Redress Mechanism in Government and raised my concern (i knew it won’t
help, but still to vent out my frustration, i did it anyway).
Why is it that we Indians have to pay separate road tax for our cars and
bikes when we shift from one state to another? This is the simplest thing that
can give high impact to the public. I request this to be addressed suitably.
I got immediate autogenerated email. Adding the screen shot below.
I was surprised but thought there must be an automatic system put in. I even received a
SMS on phone.
2 days passed and I received another SMS :
Your grievance number PMOPG/E/2016/0280482 has been received by the
Prime minister office and transferred to T section, Transport wing, address
Transport Bhawan, 1 Parliament Street, New Delhi.
(Not able to locate this communication, will add if I can find it)
10 days passed and I received a call.
It was from someone in Transport wing, extremely polite to know what I
exactly meant. I explained my concern and I was assured it will take
sometime to resolve but it has been taken into priority.
I was extremely happy that my small effort was taken seriously which was unexpected in
previous governments.
10 days passed and I received this communication through SMS and Email.
The Government is also in the process of bringing Life Time Road Tax
Policy/uniformity in the taxes levied on the motor vehicles across the
country. Case is closed as of now.

I was extremely happy with the process. Leave aside the action whether it will be taken or
not. I could connect with the leader. Hats off to the discipline put in by Mr. Modi in the
Central government sector. I could sense the work happening with this.

This happened.
The action was immediate! I got a call from Alipurduar zone of railway. In Patna a senior
officer came personally to register my complaint. I received a copy of the fine of Rs 25,000
that was imposed on the caterer. (It was a text msg which I've deleted, so won't be able to
share that)
Same day after the officer left I got down at Patna station to get a bottle of water. The
shopkeeper asked for Rs 18 (it should have been 15). There were two of them and I was
having conversation with just one.
Me: Why 18?
SK: Because we incur 23 rupees in getting bottles from the godown.
Me: OK. What is your name?
The other shopkeeper suddenly intervened, alarmed at my question.
SK2: sir he is new in the shop, doesn't know anything. The bottle is for 15 only. I'm really
sorry sir. (Turns to his fellow) you idiot!
The sheer fear of being complained against was enough. I'd never seen such a strong
response ever in my life.
Yes, achhe din are round the corner.
Edit: Some clarifications in response to comments that I got.
1. It is indeed juvenile to engage a ministry for the sake of a towel or a tea that is priced
10 instead of 7. But when you don't find other suitable ways you take this recourse.
Also the whole effort by the Ministry fitters away due to such small problems that
people face. So better if the Ministry is also apprised of its efforts.
2. W/t in the tweet indicates without, not with. Price comparison is with railways fixed
prices which is Rs 7, so the caterer is taking advantage of ignorance of people.
3. I'm not saying that everything is fine now. All I'm trying to say is that we are moving
in the right direction. The dream of good governance for all is still far, but a journey of
miles also begins with baby steps.
4. A lot of credit does go to Mr. Suresh Prabhu as pointed out in a comment. But some
does go to Mr. Modi as well as it is the leader who sets the tone for governance.
Remember that Suresh Prabhu isn't from BJP, and was actually ousted by Shiv Sena,
BJP's ally in Maharashtra. But Mr. Modi did see the wisdom in appointing the man
with such an important portfolio.
5. Some say it's only the railway ministry doing the work. I'd request them to simply go
through other answers of the same question.
6. Some more believe that it's simply a publicity stunt by railways. Why don't they solve
the problem directly? Dear one, try sorting out every problem every day when
thousands of them come to you, even such petty ones. The fact is that the whole
system needs to improve and that will take time. I hope we don't have to tweet our
problems in future.

There are already many great answers here.
Modi is indeed a great leader but his subordinates are also great leaders.
Nitin gadkari is road and transport minister, and creating a new record in making roads
and connecting roads everyday.
But some decisions they are taking are just above the expectations and can acts as the
motivation for not just Indians but for other countries also.
I just want to move your attention towards Ghazipur Dumping Ground.
Ghazipur is now 50 feet Waste dumping ground in Delhi which is 3 times more than it’s
normal capacity. It was also adding in Air and Water pollution.
There was no hope that it could have been moved, because proper dumping will need
more ground to dump which is again a problem for government.
But NHAI and CRRI 4 months ago formed a team of 8–10 people and find out the ways
to find the use of garbage in road construction.
Roads need embankment of soil before laying the roads, CRRI find out that Ghazipur
Dumping garbage has 65 to 70% Soil components which can be useful for embankment of
roads. NHAI will use this garbage in DelhiMeerat highway (NH24).
And more thing to be proud of : India is most probably first country to use garbage in
road construction.

1. Launched Jan Dhan Yojana That Brought Crores To India’s Banking System

Jan Dhan Yojana, the Prime Minister’s plan to include millions of citizens into the banking
system, has met with resounding success. More than 75 million accounts have been opened
so far under the scheme that envisages at least one basic banking account in every
household that will also give credit, insurance and pension facility to the account holders.
The success of the scheme can be gauged from the fact that two states, viz., Kerala and
Goa as well as Chandigarh, Puducherry and Lakshadweep have achieved 100 per cent
financial inclusion. Jan Dhan Yojana was announced by Narendra Modi in his
Independence Day speech early this year.
2. Juvenile Justice Act Was Reframed To Punish 16YearOlds

The Union Cabinet has approved amendments to the Juvenile Justice Act that will treat
minors above 16 years as adults for heinous crimes like rape, acid attack and murder. This
is an important Bill that comes in the wake of the 2012 Delhi gang rape case . To protect
the interests of juveniles, the Bill also makes it clear that no juvenile can be given the death
penalty or sentenced to life imprisonment. The last time this Act was overhauled was in
2000.
3. Planning Commission Has Been Junked Along With Goms And Egoms

India’s 12th FiveYear plan, as commissioned by the Planning Commission, will not live to
see the light of 2017 when it was supposed to end. Instead, Narendra Modi scrapped the
Sovietera government scheme and invited citizens to shape the future of the country, no
doubt adding more admirers to his flock with the bold and innovative move. The
government might replace the Planning Commission with a bevy of economic advisors
along the lines of US thinktanks. Nine empowered groups of ministers (EGoMs) and 21
groups of ministers (GoMs) that were in operation because of coalition politics have also
been disbanded under Modi’s rule to allow ministers to take faster decisions and add
accountability to their actions.
4. Lean Ministry That Prefers Austerity

Fewer ministers in the cabinet means lesser travel expenses for the exchequer. However,
going one step further, the government has banned firstclass travel for its ministers, cut
down on five star seminars and they have to get clearance from the Prime Minister’s Office
before going for foreign tours. The Finance Ministry has a target of reducing nonplanned
expenditure by 10 per cent through effective use of these austerity measures.
5. Recognising Power Of Neighbours Like Nepal And Bhutan

I dont know how many of you know this site [1] but this is really amazing. Government is
doing plenty of work in the space of power and trying to push in more information to
people.
The site shows the power flow and unit price sold to the state government. At present india
is not power deficient.
Below is the screen shot.
Not only this, but there are also other initiatives that government is pressing forward like
asking citizens to participate in the forming solutions for various issues in the MyGov: A
Platform for Citizen Engagement towards Good Governance in India site.
Watch this video, where our Railway minister gives a amazing speech, i haven’t seen a
politician speaking this much about a government organization. Actually he spoke like my
director/VP, who is paid millions of $ for his role.
Many people think achche din has not come. But in my view it started when Narendra
Modi took over the power.
It is like, if a person has been infected with a contagious diseases in all the parts of the
body, and treatment has been started to bring him back to a normal state. We might not
see fall in prices and relief to some problems immediately but they are working on the
solutions.

I had a waiting list ticket of Kalka mail(12312) in AC 3 tier from Allahabad to Howrah. My
ticket status was WL 1 & WL2. I thought my ticket will confirm after chart preparation. I
also had a confirm ticket in sleeper class in the same train on the same day.
Now around 2 pm I came to know that charting had done and my ticket of AC 3 tier is not
confirm. Now I had to cancell that ticket at Allahabad Jn. station. But at that time, I
thought there may be a long queue in reservation counter & I may not cancell my ticket on
time as I had train on 5:10 pm.
So, I went for calling 139 as it is recently launched by railway to cancell waiting list ticket
over phone. I called the number and railway representative sent me a OTP in my mobile
no. and cancelled my ticket. But she told me I have to take refund only from originating
station(i.e. Allahabad Jn.). I rushed to Allahabad Jn. with my luggages from my college
and after reaching there I found they had issued almost 700 tokens and 500 tokens are
cleared. Now I had to wait around 2.5 hrs. to get all the 200 tokens cleared. Now, if I wait
I will sure to miss my train. So, somehow I approached a booking clerk and told her I had
already cancelled my ticket and I want only the refund. She told me that this is a new
system and I should contact bookingincharge for the refund. So, I approached booking
incharge office and I explained the whole things to the staffs. Then they became very
enthusiastic about that new process. They asked me everything what railway representative
told me over phone and threefour staffs come and started to check my ticket status and
other details on a computer. After some minutes, they told me my ticket was already
cancelled. They said me to wait a while and they came with the refund within few minutes
from a counter and handed over the cash and a cancellation ticket to me.
Ya!!....that's a great experience because of only adopting a new process. So, obviously
railway is striving to serve their customers better and their staffs are also trying to
implement the new process and give a grand success to the initiative.
So, 'Yes', INDIA is changing!!

Most people think that the promise of “achhe din” (good days) for India has not been
met. The level of energy and enthusiasm that was unleashed by Modi two years ago seems
to have been all but dissipated.
Modi may have fallen short of expectations, but that shouldn’t imply his government has
failed.
On May 26, 2014, India’s prime minister Narendra Modi began his term in officeamid
great expectations.
Corporates, economists, and investors were betting on big bang reforms, which would kick
start growth.
The jury is still out on the economic achievements of his first year in power, the Modi
government has at least given India’s gross domestic product (GDP) numbers a bit of a
boost.
From 4.5% in the 2013 fiscal year, the growth rate jumped up to 6.9% for the 2014 fiscal,
as the country’s central statistics office changed the way of computing the GDP by
changing the base year, and adding some more components.
That makes India one of the fastest growing economies of its size in the world, poised to
even overtake China, Asia’s largest economy. Apart from these glowing GDP estimates—
which some economists say are a joke—here are some other key indicators that reveal how
India’s economy has done in its first year under prime minister Modi:
First of all, the global fall in crude oil prices have been a big help to the economy. The free
fall in prices played their part in trimming India’s import bill, and saving on foreign
exchange. Almost twothirds of the country’s oil is imported.
Wholesale price inflation—which represents the price of goods traded in bulk—has
substantially eased from April 2014, but now is in the negative territory. In March 2015, it
fell to the lowest level in nine years. This was primarily because prices of manufactured
products dropped, which isn’t exactly a good sign for industry.
Growth in consumer price inflation, or retail inflation—an indicator of consumption
expenses—has also eased in the last one year to 5.17% in March. It is now well within the
Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) target of maintaining 6% retail inflation until January
2016. The RBI’s interest rate trajectory depends on the retail inflation growth in the
country.
Meanwhile, equity investors in India have been resoundingly optimistic after Modi took
charge. India’s benchmark index, the Sensex, touched 30,000 points level, its highest ever,
in intraday trading on March 4, 2015, when RBI governor Raghuram Rajan cut the repo
rate.
Lately, however, the markets seem to be losing steam, and certain tax issues for foreign
institutional investors might slow investments. Additionally, in the absence of any major
onground reforms, investors’ patience may also be wearing thin.
The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) has shown significant improvement since October
last year, indicating that industrial activity in the country may finally be seeing a revival.
The IIP measures growth in important sectors like manufacturing, mining and electricity,
among others. Analysts believe that industries in India might be witnessing a turnaround
now.
But the Indian rupee is still under pressure. The currency has been volatile in recent
months, mainly because of external factors. The US Federal Reserve’s impending interest
rate hike has boosted the dollar, as the American economy shows signs of improvement.

I was waiting for my train at jaipur railway station. I went to buy a water bottle and there I
saw this hoarding board
Free WiFi service at jaipur railway station.
In the bottom right corner you can see Digital Rail, Digital India.
Yes, India is being digitised under Modi governance.
And then I tried to access it to check whether it is working or not. And it was working fine.
n 12 Sept 2015 Indian Railways announced its partnership with the tech giant Google to

provide free wifi services at 400 railway stations across India. In january 2016 mumbai
central station had become the first railway station to have WiFi facility.
The project has been named Nilgiri.

Yes, our country is changing. If the same question pops up again, my answer will remain
the same. I won't give any more evidence of "change" , you can refer other answers which
give far better experiences and proofs of "change".
The biggest change I've observed in the last one year is OURSELVES.
Yes, the BIGGEST CHANGE IS US and we must feel really proud of ourselves.
Just rewind yourself 23 years back, and ask youselves:
1. Did you even care how the government was functioning or serving its citizens apart
from criticizing it?
2. Did you even care to complain to the offices, via twitter or in person, hoping you
would get a response, see accountability?
3. Did you even care to know what the PM did apart from laughing at trolls?
4. Did you even imagine we'd have such a strong defense minister which no longer bows
to petty enemy attack?
And I know (apart from the few over optimistic people) , the answer is a straight "NO".
And why so? Because we were really frustrated to see our government function. We'd lost
any hope left and had reached a stage where even Rs 3000 crores+ scams didn't seem to
excite us.
1. We needed change and for change to happen it has to start from the lowest level, us.
2. We have changed by questioning the performance of the government.
3. We have changed by checking the accountability of the government towards its
citizens.
4. We have changed by improving the voting turnouts (yes, the percentages have
improved in many states).
5. We have changed by interacting with the government and feeling good that our
government ACTUALLY RESPONDS to us. (although, we really need to stop Twitter
as a medium to address petty issues and start using the platforms provided by the
governments).
6. We have changed by responding to the new schemes optimistically (especially
"Swachh Bharath").
And let me tell you, this question will soon go off course into straight negatives when the
Gandhi family takes over. So for this question to stay alive , we need to act.
So far, we have a government which vows to nab the people involved in scams, vows to
take action against those netas who think they're above the law.
Our government is improving its relation with its neighbours. Its brought billions of dollars
worth investment in a mere 1 year which the previous one failed to do for five years.
Show me how you have changed in your perception, by writing your views in the
comments.
Also please let me know if I have to "change"(edit) my answer in any way :P .

This is my experience on online application of Indian Air Force Common Admission Test.
I registered on the website on 17th December, 2015.
The last date of submiitting complete form was : upto 31st December 2015, 23:59 hours.
So as I was filling the form on 31st Dec, I was facing error in submission. I tried for many
times, all in vain.
Then I was worried as I will lose one chance as the Vacancies are once every 6 months.
So I sent them an Email of my problem. This is the copy:
I was not sure if it will work, as the deadline was passed.
To my surprise, they replied me back with this :
I was much happy. I submitted the application.
NOTE : Nowehere on the official website it was mentioned about extended
date.
This is a very good gesture from the government website.

I give below 51 achievements of Modi Government in past more than a year since he’s
become PM:
1. Foreign Policy – Major success – Nepal relief, FDI assured from Japan China US
Australia etc of more than USD 70 billion. Thrust on UN Permanent Security Council seat
– Modi wrote to heads of all Nations demanding it as India’s right. Pakistan being tackled
on Doval policy – If Pak troubles Kashmir, then threaten to disturb Baluchistan – Look at
the wonderful Ufa declaration negotiated by Modi Govt
Doval Policy is – Till now, Pak Govt used to talk peace thereby getting in good books of
international community and Pak Army used to create problems in Kashmir – India had
no choice but to continue talking because of international pressure – Now, what Modi has
done is that when Pak Army does something in Kashmir, India in exchange gives it back
disproportionately somewhere within Pak – so, it is Pak Govt which is under pressure to
continue talking to India. On China, India has been cozying up to US, Japan, Australia
and getting high tech defence from there. Still, India has aligned with China whereever its
interests match – on BRICS Bank and New Development Bank. Modi has visited all
important countries and built a good future relationship with their Leaders already
India has built a dependable big brother image in SAARC – exploring a bridge connecting
India to Sri Lanka from Rameswaram, Nepal wooed with aid, Bhutan was the first country
Modi visited, Bangladesh boundary settlement – Motor vehicles accord passed by Nepal
Bhutan Bangladesh – so time of commute between Bengal and NE will get reduced by
1000 km – India has expedited construction of highway linking Bengal to Thailand and it
will be a smooth ride very soon – India has got berthing rights in Chittagong port – time
for goods to reach Bangladesh reduced by 9 days
India is moving closer to ASEAN with Act East policy and also getting closer to Central
Asia – next year, India will become full time member of SCO. India has taken Chabahar
port (Iran) development and now will have direct access to Afghanistan and Central Asia
through that – thereby countering China’s Gwadar
FTA’s – being signed
2. Zero corruption – There is ZERO corruption in Central govt – ask anyone who works
in Central Govt! Vyapam was a scam going back 20 years and the BJP member involved
has been sacked from BJP – Govt has got CBI on the case. Lalitgate – Lalit Modi fell out
with Sonia Maino and hence was hounded with cases. Sonia Maino’s sister asked for USD
60 million from Lalit Modi (it’s all disclosed by Lalit Modi on Twitter) to free him of all
charges – helping him visit his cancerstriken wife, was a moral mistake by Sushma Swaraj
but she is too good a Foreign Minister to be made to resign over this – no money has been
exchanged and no cases have been dropped against Lalit Modi, in all fairness, unlike
Quattoroci who was let go by CBI under Sonia Maino’s instructions and Bhopal Gas
accused who was also let go scotfree
3. GST – On track for March 2016 – big success story
4. Federalism – What an idea! A Niti Aayog comprising of all CM’s instead of Sovietera
top down planning
5. Black Money – P Notes under consideration now.
6. Savings – Atal Pension yojna, PPF reform, linking all identities through a common
registry
7. Aadhaar – Stop pilferage through cash subsidies
8. Market reforms in fuel – Fuel rates now market determined
9. Inflation – RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan given full autonomy – witnessing
moderate inflation
10. Infrastructure – Nod for PSU Banks to raise Funds, subject to Govt equity ceiling at
52%. Banks allowed to convert Debt to Equity to recover bad loans. 9 lakh crore of stuck
infra projects by Congress being either revived or returned – headache for present Govt as
expected after scorched Earth policy of Congress during last 2 years of its power. Big work

Shri Piyush Goyal, Minister of State (IC) for Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy
launched a mobile application “Vidyut PRAVAH” Electricity, Price Availability and
Highlights’” at a function on 31st March 2016. The mobile application provides highlights
of the power availability in the country on real time basis. The mobile application will
empower the Common People to demand 24x7 power from the States.
The Vidyut PRAVAH mobile application provides data pertaining to market price of power
from power exchange, value of current all India demand in GW and all India and State
shortage including peak hour and total energy shortage. The real time data and
comparison with previous day/year data is also available. Data from multiple sources,
including the States and Power Exchanges, has been made available through a single
portal for convenience of all.
A user friendly interface, based on the Geographical map of India, facilitates all the
consumers /stakeholders in visualization of the power availability and prices at the overall
country level and at States/UTs level. The information disseminated through the
Application will empower the consumer, thereby leading all the stakeholders to be more
responsive and efficient, bringing more economy to the country.

When the 6yearold Vaishali Yadav wrote to her Prime Minister, little did she know that
he would respond and get her all the help she needed to survive a heart defect.
"Modi Sarkar mala madat pahije," wrote Vaishali Yadav in a letter to the Prime Minister.
The sixyearold from Hadapsar had a hole in her heart and was too poor for surgery.
And, five days after posting that letter with her school identity card, Modi answered.
Vaishali got a free surgery done this week at Ruby Hall Clinic, after a letter from the Prime
Minister's Office (PMO) prompted the district collector to convene a meeting with
representatives from all Pune hospitals.
Vaishali, who studies at Pradnya Shishu Vihar school in Phursungi, belongs to the below
poverty line (BPL) category and couldn't afford to get her operation done in any Pune
hospital. She also lacked BPL documents, which prevented her from availing of any BPL
heath scheme of the government. She resides with her uncle, Pratap Yadav, a small time
painter, who even had to sell the girl's only toy, a cycle, for a mere Rs 90 so that he could
buy her medicines. So, she decided to write a letter directly to the PM.
Speaking to Mirror, Vaishali said, "I saw my kaka sitting sadly after being rejected by many
hospitals. Just then, Modi appeared on the television screen. I brought out a pen and
paper and said I want to write to the PM about my condition, so that my operation can be
done for free. And, surprisingly, my kaka agreed. I tore a page from my notebook and
wrote everything to Modi, right from my heart condition to being extremely poor."
Yadav added, "Since we lack any proper address, we chose to take her school's ID card,
stuck it onto the letter and posted it. We never thought it would receive any response. But,
only five days on, a few people from the school came looking for Vaishali and me. We were
told the district collector and district health officer were looking for us. Immediately, a
meeting was called by the collector, where hospitals from Pune were called and the letter
from PMO saying "help the girl accordingly" was widely discussed. Ruby Hall Clinic
immediately chose to help us for free and our operation was done this week."
District civil surgeon Dr Sanjay Deshmukh, who had called the meeting along with district
collector Saurabh Rao, was shocked to see the PM's letter, which reached on May 25 with
the girl's letter attached. "It lacked any phone number of the girl or her parents. So, we
approached the patient's school as it had her ID card. That's how we located her. Ruby
Hall Clinic immediately came forward and, within nine days of contacting the patient, the
surgery was performed according to the PM's wishes," he explained.
Dr Purvez Grant, Ruby Hall Clinic's chairman, added, "The patient came with the PM's
reference and we did it for free. We have done as many as 100 paediatric surgeries in the
last one year without charging a single penny."

My wife was working in on of the nationalized banks in Kerala. I am working in Bangalore.
She was trying for a transfer to Bangalore by whichever possible way she could. It included
calling all Union leaders and begging them for transfer, calling all higher authorities of
bank like AGM, DGM, etc. We waited almost around 1 year. Nothing worked out. Every
time, they had one or the other reasons to tell her. We were so disappointed and I had no
other way other than doing biweekly up and down from Bangalore to Kerala.
By listening to my misery, one of my colleague informed me about one website where we
can interact with prime minister (Interact with PM ). He asked me to give a try.
And one fine day, I opened the website and wrote a detailed complaint about the transfer
issue.
Days passed. I did not get any reply. Thinking that this effort also went in vain, I lost the
hope. After 2 months, my wife called me and asked if I had given some complaint about
the transfer issues.She was not aware of what I did. I told her about the complaint i lodged
to PM. Then she said that her branch manager got a call from Prime Minister office,
asking about the complaint I raised. I was totally surprised..!!
Within next 1 month, her transfer order came. Within this one month, the Manager called
my twice and updated the progress about the transfer. Finally after the transfer happened,
he again called me and requested to send an email to him, which says that my issue is
resolved.
I never expected that one small action from me would change the things so soon. I was so
happy that we have a PM who can hear these kind of small issues from common people..
We are happily living in Bangalore now. Thank a million Mr. Prime Minister.. :)

from the website to show. But I am unable to retrieve the data. Anyway I post here the

Let me make it very clear that there was no political pressure made on the transfer. I have
seen some comments which says so. After Modi came into rule, the government has made
major allowances for public sector employees by giving preferential treatment in transfers
to women staff separated from families. This was the major reason I wrote a letter to the
PM. Snapshot of the news and link are added for reference. Please have a look.

Mr. Suresh Prabhu is another stellar minister. Here are some of his most amazing
achievement as Railways minister.
Smart Management: One of the best leadership things that Suresh Prabhu did was to
change the way tenders were decided upon. Now, all tenders of noncentral nature or
dealing with one zone, the General Manager will be the main accepting authority. For
tenders above Rs 500 crores, the authority will be a member of the Railway Board.
Minister has been taken out of the whole equation itself.
Financing from Life Insurance Corporation: In a very interesting decision, Suresh
Prabhu signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Life Insurance
Corporation, railways will get a financing of Rs1.5 lakh crore over a period of five years to
finance infrastructure works.
Launched ecatering service: Via the Indian Railways Catering & Tourism
Corporation (IRCTC), Indian railways is now offering an ecatering service. While in the
train, a traveler can place an order for a meal just by making a phone call or sending an

Security via Helplines: There are two helpline numbers now in Indian railways. “138”
for medical emergency, cleanliness, food & catering, coach maintenance, linen etc. ‘182’ for

India Smart Card has been launched on two sectors: New Delhi to Mumbai and New

Ticket Checker (“TT” in local parlance). Another initiative is the new eTicketing system

Yatri Ticket Sewa Kendra (YTSK) Scheme: Under this scheme, agents of Indian

R.O. Drinking Water at Stations: RO drinking water will be provided at selection
stations now – these are Madurai, Gadag, Tirupati, Guwahati Dwarka, H.Nizammudin,

I was viewing Preetham Kumar’s answer the most viewed answer where he
praises Modi government for the Garv App. My question is if out of the 6 lakh
villages in India only 18450 were left unelectrified till March 2015 then still in
68 years the other governments managed to electrify 97% of all villages in
India. Playing with statistics is an old game in Marketing.
Worth noting is the fact that in 2006–07 29000 villages were electrified in
the UPA government.

I am not an economist and neither I have analysed any one variable of economic growth
fully. I do my job and I seldom find time for politics. But I think I can say for sure
that inflation rate was never under control in the UPA regime. The source is
World Bank Data.
I am also not a fan of Jandhan Yojna, Safai Yojna etc etc and which are so much
advertised daily by the government. I strongly criticise the government for publicising the
various yojnas on Facebook, Twitter and Quora . Yojnas were there in UPA also. This yojna
for women that yojna for children and so on and so forth. Believe me this is just
simply Marketing by any government. These are not the variables to look
upon. The real variables are the GDP, Inflation rate, unemployment rate and many other
variables described by economists. I am not an economist. Also important are the literacy
rate, health facilities and many more. Only the fools and illiterate will be attracted by
Yojanas.
I am not a social scientist but here I describe the trend of one economic variable viz
inflation rate and I find a direct correlation that UPA government was worse
than NDA as far as economic policies are concerned. I took some time to
graphically represent the data. Hope it makes things clear.
One of the major bad feature of this government is its heavy relying on
advertisement and lecturebaaji. I believe this governement can do much
better if it works silently. It should focus only on allround development and
welfare of the people. Even a single rupee should not go waste.

The prime minister began his term amid great expectations. How did he
fare?
On May 26, 2014, India’s prime minister Narendra Modi began his term in office amid
great expectations.
Corporates, economists, and investors were betting on big bang reforms, which would kick
start growth.
The jury is still out on the economic achievements of his first year in power, the Modi
government has at least given India’s gross domestic product numbers a bit of a boost.
From 4.5% in the 2013 fiscal year, the growth rate jumped up to 6.9% for the 2014 fiscal, as
the country’s central statistics office changed the way of computing the GDP by changing
the base year , and adding some more components.
That makes India one of the fastest growing economies of its size in the world, poised to
even overtake China , Asia’s largest economy. Apart from these glowing GDP estimates –
which some economists say are a joke – here are some other key indicators that reveal
how India’s economy has done in its first year under prime minister Modi:
First of all, the global fall in crude oil prices have been a big help to the economy. The free
fall in prices played their part in trimming India’s import bill , and saving on foreign
exchange. Almost twothirds of the country’s oil is imported.
Wholesale price inflation – which represents the price of goods traded in bulk – has
substantially eased from April 2014, but now is in the negative territory. In March 2015, it
fell to the lowest level in nine years . This was primarily because prices of manufactured
products dropped, which isn’t exactly a good sign for industry.
Growth in consumer price inflation, or retail inflation – an indicator of consumption
expenses – has also eased in the last one year to 5.17% in March. It is now well within the
Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) target of maintaining 6% retail inflation until January
2016. The RBI’s interest rate trajectory depends on the retail inflation growth in the
country.
Meanwhile, equity investors in India have been resoundingly optimistic after Modi took
charge. India’s benchmark index, the Sensex, touched 30,000 points level , its highest
ever, in intraday trading on March 4, 2015, when RBI governor Raghuram Rajan cut the
repo rate .
Lately, however, the markets seem to be losing steam, and certain tax issues for foreign
institutional investors might slow investments. Additionally, in the absence of any major
onground reforms, investors’ patience may also be wearing thin .
The Index of Industrial Production has shown significant improvement since October last
year, indicating that industrial activity in the country may finally be seeing a revival. The
IIP measures growth in important sectors like manufacturing, mining and electricity,
among others. Analysts believe that industries in India might be witnessing a
turnaround now.
But the Indian rupee is still under pressure. The currency has been volatile in recent
months, mainly because of external factors. The US Federal Reserve’s impending interest
rate hike has boosted the dollar , as the American economy shows signs of improvement.

These are questions which I am reading every day every newspaper every magazine every
news channel out of them some are appraising the efforts Mr. Modi is doing and some are
criticizing the efforts of Mr. Modi.
Today I finally made mood to reply all this from my heart and mind what ever I have
observations about this government:
First of all Ache Din kab aayenge…. This is only asked by opposition parties specially
Mr. Arvind Kejriwal .. Why they do not ask Congress why these bed days come and why
they were so bed that good days are taking so long time to come…… But no one is asking
that..
Now Coming to main Question what Mr. Modi has brought changes in India:
1. International Yoga Day: This was only effort of our great PM Mr. Modi that whole
world is making yoga day June 21 which is something to have proud. Now people
officially know that it is originated from India.
2. Swach Bhart ( Clean India Mission) : I donot know India has become clean or
not but I know one thing that people has changed…. I see many people using
dustbins, Kids keeping there chocolate wrappers in there begs or in pockets at least
this change in mindset of people Mr. Modi has made by this mission.
3. Indian Railway: Indian railway is adding every day something new in its basket
which is going to bring a great revolution in tour and traval.
4. Fastest growing economy: In Mr. Modi tenure only India has become fastest
growing major economy in world.
5. International Relations: In Mr. Modi leadership only Indian relations are on peak
with US, Afganistan, Japan, Russia and South Affrica and because of his leadership
only India has made Pakistan isolated in International Form.
6. Banking access to Poor People: Within past two years approx 20 crore new bank
accounts has been opened which is more then opened in previous 15 years that too
only because of Mr. Modi vision for poor.
There are too many achievements done by India in the leadership of Mr. Modi that cannot
be expressed in this short article.
One story which touched my heart :
One day I had a little conversation with Irish person online and I asked “what
you know about India” He replied , “ Its Modi’s country, He is very energetic
and hardworking PM India has got” and told many things. I feel very proud
that people outside India too like our PM.

One thing which I dont like much is even international Crude Oil price has come to 1/3

I am drawing the answer from my personal experience.
It was a year before when I was about to take admission in a government engineering
college through JEE Mains. So, I started arranging the documents required for it. As far as
I can remember, it included the original mark sheets of class X and XII along with its
photocopies. The website of JAC Chandigarh instructed that the student should have a
selfattested copies of their document as well.
Papa was not with us. He was posted in the East. So, I had to arrange all the documents by
myself. I did not know about self attested copies. So, I asked a senior about this and he
told me that a self attested copy is a photocopy of original documents selfverified by
putting signature of the regarding individual. Before the Ist round, I had arranged
everything that was required for the counselling.
My father had come, then. He looked at the all the documents. When he was looking at
the photocopies with my signature on it, he asked me if it would do. I had no idea what he
was talking about. After a moment of thought, my father told me, ‘Modi has made your life
easier.’
He explained to me that in his days, students had to get an affidavit instead of self
attestation. They had to go to the notary for the affidavit or approach a gazetted officer. It
wasted both his time and money.
I started respecting Modi more. I literally bowed down to this man.

I have been following this question for a while and was seriously amused how does all this
happening?
But this time I was at the receiving end and I decided to put up my experience here.
Yesterday night we had a power cut. The lights went off at 2am and was immediately
restored. While restoring, there was a fault and transformer explode with few sparks. I
thought BESCOM people might reach and repair it. It's been one and half hr still none
turned up. I called the 24/7 helpline. None answered my call. Got irritated, I decided to
tweet at that night and check out what happens.
It took sometime for me to digest, those people who didn't attend any of my calls
immediately replied me in Twitter and also repaired the line within 10mins.
Though they replied soon, I didn't check it till morning. I didn't reply them, still they found
the issue in mins and solved it. Which means they know the fault area and the fault in the
line which they were negligent towards. I was standing near my PG gate watching all this
in awe. After clearing the issue and power was restored, a guy came to me and asked if I
tried to complain, then I narrated the whole thing. He asked me to close the issue now as it
was done and I happily agreed.
But what I noted in his face was the expression of "why the f*** is this Twitter and tweets
are there? Just to kill us?" Kinda one. Still I was happy, irrespective of the time they
responded and attended.
In the whole thing though Piyush Goyal didn't have a word to say/tweet, it was because I
tweeted along with his name I got an immediate reply. My previous tweet where I
compared AP and KA was not even given a look I swear.
Yes India under modi is changing and towards good . Now I'm afraid of how long will our
so called lucrative voters let this working govt in power??

As a retired employee of Government of India, I am covered under Central Government
Health Scheme. I was being issued a medicine by the CGHS dispensery. It was abruptly
stopped on the ground that according to newly prepared formulary. the medicine is not
allowed. This formulary, infact, was compiled by a committee set up to list out the
medicines to be issued by the CGHS. In their zeal to do a good work they forgot that they
cannot exclude certain treatments, tantamounting to a refusal to treat certain medical
conditions.
I talked to whomsoever I could approach to look into my problem. They showed their
inability , pleading that for them the formulary is sacrosanct. Finding no other way, I sent
an E mail to the then Health Minister, Dr Harsh Vardhan. Lo and behold, the very next
day the Minister asked the DG to have a look, copy endorsed to me. It took some three
weeks but a favourable decision was received.
In earlier Governments, could any commoner even think of approaching a Minister, and
even if approached, was there a chance to get a reply?
Yes things have changed, indeed.

It took eight years to convince that road should be constructed to this area, and since nov
2015 Its construction in progress, and the way its constructed , its too pathetic, We can not
even compare with such road with poor village of China.

2. Haryana have started an online portal to register societies
:https://haryanaindustries.gov.in/ Yes, the online system is good, But if you need any
help to get the things done, then it would be nightmare for you. because of multiple
reason, the people who are supposed to handle this small online system, they have almost
no idea about computed. you do numerous calls , mails, and the end they will do “ Sir
thoda problem hein , 2–3 din mein theek ho jayega or Sir thoda holidays hein , theek ho
jayega ( Some problem from backend, some holidays are there).
Its more than one year I followed to them to fix some of the issue , but I am running
person to person, pillar to pillar and no solutions at all :(, They have made forms to fill
but no where any way or help to fill it (e.g. how to buy challans etc, what they require), if
you ask a question, then they will say come here to ask, so a person will leave his work and
reach to his office after travelling to 1–2 hour, and then you will see ‘Sir I don’t know
anything about it, you may come tomorrow’

My son used to go to a school, which was almost on front of main road , and there was no
speed breaker on road. I talked with requisite officials and they did the job.

Yes , I do see a change in Indian mindset, but that change still up to talks level. its still not

I being a student and a Traveller need to find best ways to get free food, cheap stays and
best modes of commuting from one place to another. Sometime, there are situations when
your flight gets delayed or your train in running late, which disrupts your whole plans (I
usually don’t have plans :p).
I was travelling from Himachal Pradesh (My Village) to Guwahati few days back, I booked
my train tickets from Delhi to Guwahati and it all went very smooth. The weather was
great that day, slight drizzle in between and I had a book to read. It was a great journey,
but my train was 6 hours late. It reached Guwahati at 10:30 PM.
Its a really wonderful station, I was trying to collect some thought and write something on
my dairy about fresh arrival and the weather and I saw this.

It was a moment of happiness for me, Fast Free Wifi at A Railway Station and I hope more

While making a fair and balanced evaluation of Modi’s performance, we need to recognize
that expectations from Modi at the time when he took office were totally unrealistic. People
wanted immediate results whether it was in providing jobs, lowering prices, improving
agriculture, promoting business and industry, etc. No leader, even with the best of
intentions and a majority in both Houses of Parliament, could have met these expectations
considering the fractious polity, complexity, and magnitude of challenges confronted by
the country.
Modi won the election on the twin planks of “development” and “good governance.” It will
be instructive to see how he has performed on these two fronts.
On development, although there have been some shortcomings, the government has taken
several significant decisions in the economic field, resulting in initiatives such as Make in
India, Swachh Bharat(Clean India), Clean Ganga, Skill India, Jan Dhan Yojana (People’s
Bank Plan), Crop Insurance Program, and several more. All these initiatives need to be
implemented with determination so that their results become evident quickly. It is
particularly essential to increase the share of manufacturing in economy so that more jobs
are created, to promote cleanliness so that productivity increases and expenditure on
health care declines, equip people with the right skills and training so that challenge of
providing one million jobs every month can be met, and increase the productivity and well
being of farmers and villages. It is also vital to provide suitable training to India’s youth to
reap the full dividend of the demographic advantage.
But the economy has faced challenges as well. Although overall inflation has been arrested,
the prices of food items have soared. This is one of the biggest shortcomings of the Modi
government. Another is its failure to provide jobs to the youth. Macroeconomic indicators
like FDI, inward remittances, and a highlevel GDP growth of 7.5 percent don’t mean
much unless they are translated into lower prices for essential commodities and more jobs
for young people. Meanwhile, India’s exports have declined continuously for the last 20
months because of contracting international demand.
On the other hand, the government has taken good advantage of ebbing energy prices and
simultaneously moved to hike its target of renewable energy to 175 GW over the next 10
years. Significant progress has been registered in vital areas of railways, roads, power, and
other infrastructure. But a lack of adequate power in the Rajya Sabha (the Upper House of
Parliament) for the NDA has hobbled the government’s reform drive to push through
crucial measures like the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and labor reforms.
In governance, the government has permitted itself to be put on the back foot by its
opponents. Its promise of ”sabka saath, sabka vikaas” (“unity with all, development for
all”) has not been translated into action so far. In several areas like socalled lovejihad
(religious intermarriage), ghar wapsi (“returning home,” or religious conversions), and the
beef ban, the government has allowed fringe fundamentalist elements in the party to hold
center stage. This has encouraged the opposition to regroup under a banner of rising
intolerance and paint the government in an unflattering light. Mishandling of student
protestors at Hyderabad University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, and now possibly even
Jadavpur, could cost Modi dearly by depleting his voter support among the youth of the
country.
A big success for the government, however, is that there is not a whiff of any huge
corruption scandal or scam over the last two years. Revelations of such frauds were a
weekly occurrence during the last years of the previous government’s tenure. Modi can be
justifiably proud of this achievement.
On external affairs, the Modi government has scored high marks in formulating and
implementing foreign policy. Some analysts tend to term Modi’s initiatives as a failure
because of India’s difficult and tense relations with its neighbors like Pakistan, China,
Nepal, and Maldives. However, fractious relations with Pakistan and China have existed
for a long time. Initiatives by the Modi government have put India in a stronger position,
although they might not have necessarily helped in improving bilateral relations.
Under Modi, India has sought to diminish the significance of Pakistan in its foreign policy
formulation and establish strategic partnerships with countries like the United States and
Japan to enhance New Delhi’s maneuverability to deal with the increasingly assertive
behavior of China. Difficult and stressed relations with Nepal and the Maldives,
meanwhile, are due to India being sucked into the vortex of domestic politics in these
countries. Modi’s vision, energy, and infectious enthusiasm in strengthening relations with
big and medium powers like the United States, Germany, Japan, Russia, France, ASEAN,
the U.K., Australia, South Korea, Central Asia, and West Asia have been productive as he
has made foreign policy a significant element in India’s domestic economic development.
Modi has used India’s soft power — yoga, culture, and philosophy — to good effect as well.
Finally, he has actively and effectively reached out to the Indian diaspora to make them
active partners in India’s progress and development.
Modi’s achievements have been substantial although they might not measure up to the
impossible hype and hope of ”achhe din”(good days) enunciated two years ago. In the
coming year, Modi and his colleagues will need to ensure that macro policies get
implemented efficaciously and that their impact is felt by the people. On the governance
side it will be necessary to rein in the extremist elements who tend to take the focus away
from development.
The coming year will be of crucial significance in shaping Modi’s legacy, which he will
present to the people in 2019 for another chance at the prime ministership.

The reason is down below, why I'm saying this.
I am a MTNL Broadband user for last 2 year. MTNL is the only broadband provider in my
locality , My phone was dead from 10 days. I filed complaints , even went MTNL exchange
, But they ignored my complaint , I contacted all higher officials including GM MTNL but
response was cold.
Even MTNL Badli exchange Area manager was so rude. He never attended my call. So
finally on 6 Dec 2015 , I wrote an email to ministry of telecommunication , Cc email to GM
mtnl and AM MTNL Badli
Within 48 hours. They fixed my landline and Internet connection issue.
Also DDGPG was following up my complaint with mtnl Badli exchange , So SDO called me
and ask for providing them written proof that problem was solved . Now every time i
complaint about internet speed or related issue they solve it within 24 hours.

Hello There ! I always wanted to write an answer on this specific question 'How is India

crosscheck if I am repeating the matter.
I had recently gone to Lonawala on the 30th Of July'16 for outing. It had been a long time
since I visited the place(67months). I was strolling through the market and saw
something interesting near the Railway Station .
Here I present you the.....
Wondering what is it ? Some blue thing ?
There is Written "Win Chocolate" and below it is written "Kachra Yethe Taaka" which
means put the garbage here. This thing actually encourages you to dump the garbage in
the blue box and win a chocolate !
Wow. It's a really good concept. Places like Lonawala are tourist spots and should be kept
clean and tidy. These new concepts are a boon for the society. It's not only supporting
"Swachh Bharat Abhiyan" but also the concept of Make in India.
The name of this Blue thing is TechBin . It must have been made in India. Hats off !
Note : You may see some garbage lying beside the bin which makes my Answer somewhat
contradictory. But people will improve by time. The govt is putting in its best efforts. Now
is the time we put in our efforts equally !! ThankYou.

condemnation …Every action of Pakistan whatever may be the case was “condemned” by

We were so much used to it that actions of pakistan always

attacks etc.) but our response remained same(considering “condemning”

Let me share an incident to understand how changes are happening at root level.
In my area Airoli, Navi Mumbai as usual the roads were in bad condition, lot of potholes.
Everyday when I travel with my bike, gives me lot of trouble.
So one day decided to take an action.. I searched Navi Mumbai Municipal corporation
website and tried to find the responsible persons handling road related matter and found
few names and their contact details. Organisation Structure NMMC
I started writing an email hoping less chance of reply..
So here comes my email:

Date: 12th May, 2016
To: Commissioner of NMMC, PWD department, Maharashtra CM, Transport ministry
Road Condition before
To my surprise within 2 minute I received an feedback email from PA to commissioner
with below reply.

The story begins now… so please read carefully.
Day 3: —————————————
After 2 Days that is 14th May, I got call.
Me: Hello
Person on other side: Hello Mr. Bhanushali [my surname] sir I am calling from
NMMC [Navi Mumbai Municipal corporation]. I am Deputy Engineer and want to
know your exact problem, and location.
Me: [with surprise..!] Yes speaking…
let me brief the conversation….
Mr. Gurav explained me why the roads are in bad condition with humble voice, not only
that he also shared information about local ward office civil engineer Mr. Devendra
Patil and requested to contact him.
I said ok with thankful voice and started thinking that how this could happen?? Before
any other thought pops up in my mind, I got another call… this was unbelievable.. I got
call from Mr. Devendra Patil, Civil Engineer, Ghansoli ward.
Again he also explained me the same thing which Mr.Gurav explained and and he
requested to meet next day morning, to understand where actually the roads are in
problem.
Can you imagine a gov. officer will come to your door steps to solve your problem.
No right but this this is happening under the rule of Mr. Modi.
Day 4: ——————————————————
Finally the day has came 15th May Mr. Devendra Patil came to my location, I shown him
all the roads. He guarantee me that everything will be sorted out in next 3 days.
Important: He said please look into the work whenever you pass by this road and
contact me directly if you see any discrepancies at work. I will take action on contractor.
That day I joined office and shared this incident with my office colleague and they were
also curious about the incident.
Day 5: ——————————————————
Next day morning I was only 50% confident that the work will begin but I was wrong the
work was already began on that day 15th May itself and 50% of the work was
completed.
Day 4,5 and 6: ——————————————
Within 3 days the roads were repaired and everything was good.
I got confidence with this incident and requested Mr. Devendra Patil to repair other near
by roads also.
Mr. Devendra politely said no explaining that the other roads does not come under his
purview but he gave me the responsible persons contact number Mr. Kaustubh Patil.
I contacted Mr. Kaustubh and he just requested me to get the photo and exact location.
Immediately I shared whatever he requested.
Day 7,8 and 9:————————————————
And roads were repaired within next 3 days.
Day 11 [May 22]:————————————————————
Still 1 pothole pending to be repaired, so was waiting for 2 days but no action so I
just pinged him on whatsapp in the afternoon and was again surprised to see in the
evening it was repaired completely.

I shared the incident with my family, friends and office colleague, everybody was proud on
me for this execution, but to be more precise I was and I am proud on people who took
immediate action.

Open your eyes, If you see any problem, try to fix it by yourself
If you cannot, find the right person to do so.
Be humble, give respect to the person who is working for you.
Show your interest and spare some time for solving the problem.

It’s been two years since the Bharatiya Janata Party swept the Lok Sabha elections under
his leadership but Prime Minister Narendra Modi has never really come out of
campaigning mode. To celebrate its second anniversary, the BJP government organised a
gala event at India Gate in New Delhi on Saturday. Broadcast live on Doordarshan, the
event saw musical performances interspersed with discussions on key government schemes
and policies, with ministers outlining their key achievements.
The prime minister’s speech came right at the end of a sixhourlong celebration. In an
address high on rhetoric, Modi made several claims about his government’s performance.
Claim 1: Rs 15,000 crore was saved by plugging subsidy leakages.
Fact: These are potential, not actual, savings.
Modi claimed that his government has saved more than Rs 15,000 crores in subsidies by
identifying leakages and routing funds through direct benefit transfers to beneficiaries'
bank accounts.
"In LPG gas subsidy lists, we found so many fake names, so much leakage, we saved you
nearly Rs. 15,000 crore," he said. "For this alone, the country will tell me, Modi ji, you are
doing what is right."
As reported by the Indian Express in October 2015, researchers at the International
Institute of Sustainable Development have disputed the government’s claims of large
savings on account of introducing cash transfers for LPG subsidies. The researchers found
the actual savings were not to the tune of thousands of crores of rupees but a mere Rs 143
crore over two years.
Chief Economic Adviser Arvind Subramanian, who had first made the claim of large
savings on account of direct benefit transfers in LPG in July 2015, wrote a column in the
Indian Express in April to clarify that the savings that he had calculated were “potential”
and not actual. He pegged the potential savings for one year at Rs 12,700 crores, a figure
published in the Economic Survey this year.
Even the estimate of these potential savings is Rs 2,300 crore less than what the prime
minister claimed the government had saved.
Claim 2: More than three crore new LPG connections were provided to poor
families.
Fact: Only 60 lakh connections were provided till April 2016.
During his speech, the prime minister said that his government has utilised funds saved
from people giving up their LPG subsidies to provide new gas connections to the poor. He
said that more than 1.13 crore people have given up their subsidies already and this has
helped the government to provide more than three crore new gas connections to the poor
in just one year.
"We gave more than three crore families LPG connections in the last one year," he said.
"Such huge work has never happened in India. In the coming years we will bring LPG
connections to five crore people."
A government press release in January said that it had given more than 45 lakh gas
connections to the poor through the “giveback” scheme. In April, the petroleum minister
told reporters that the government had released 60 lakh new connections to poor in the
last year.
Forty five lakh connections amount to just 15% of the three crore figure mentioned by the
Prime Minister. This goes up to 20%, if you take the number of 60 lakh connections.
Could the government have plausibly covered the 80% shortfall in less than a month?
Claim 3: More than 1.65 crore fake ration cards were deleted by the
government.
Fact: Only 66 lakh cards have been deleted in the last three years.
Hailing his government’s work in plugging subsidy leakages, Modi said that his
government has struck off as many as 1.65 crore ration cards from the system because they
were fake. Minutes later, in the same speech, he quoted another figure – 1.62 crore cards.
"During our work we have found more than 1.62 crore fake ration cards," he said. "That
used to go somewhere. Somebody used to steal all that ration."
According to a government press release in December, more than 1.2 crore ration cards
were deleted in the years 2012’14 – 76.48 lakh in 2012, 43.31 lakh in 2013, and 10 lakh in
2014.
Since May 2014, has the government managed to delete another 1.65 crore cards?
In April, another release stated that the government had deleted 66 lakh ration cards in
the last three years. This implies that apart from the 10 lakh cards deleted till May 2014,
the government has deleted another 56 lakh cards since then – a far smaller number than
the one mentioned by the prime minister.
Moreover, not all of these ration cards were fake ones issued in the name of nonexistent
people. In the case of fake or bogus cards, the ration is sold illegally, enriching dealers. But
as the government press releases clearly state, the deleted cards include those held by
people who were found ineligible for the subsidised rations by the government, perhaps
because they had grown richer.
Claim 4: More than 20 crore bank accounts were opened during first 100
days of Jan Dhan scheme.
Fact: Only 8.6 crore accounts were opened during this period.
The prime minister was not the only one who made tall claims on Saturday. Finance
Minister Arun Jaitley, who is an adept lawyer and is considered one of the most articulate
ministers in the Modi government, also contributed to the exaggerations.
During an interaction with journalist Ashok Malik, Jaitley was asked about his
government’s efforts towards ensuring financial inclusion for the whole country. He said
that a key part of his work was implementing the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana.
Under this programme, the government has opened more than 20 crore accounts in the
first 100 days of the scheme, he claimed.
“Two years ago, 58% of the households in the country were connected to the financial
sector,” Jaitley said. "This government has added 21 crore22 crore people to the banking
net in a matter of 100 days."
The government’s own progress report released days after the scheme completed its 100
days in December said that the banks had opened a mere 8.76 crore bank accounts –
just 40% of the figure Jaitley claimed.
Claim 5: India is the fastest growing country in the world.
Fact: India is the fourth fastest growing economy in the world.
Asked to comment on how the Indian economy was faring compared with the rest of the
world, Jaitley said:
“Many economies are shrinking. Some are growing at a mere one or two percent. For
the first time in history, India is currently the world’s fastest growing economy. We are
growing at 7.6% – it’s a fast pace as compared to the world but still not upto our
expectations.”
According to government statistics, the Indian economy grew at 7.6% in 2015'16. This rate
is expected to get closer to 8% in the current financial year but India is far from being the
fastest growing economy in the world.
According to the data compiled by the World Economic Forum, Myanmar is the world’s
fastest growing economy with a projected real GDP growth rate of 8.6%. On the second
place is Ivory Coast with 8.5% and then there is Bhutan with its 8.4% growth rate.
India, hence, is the fourthfastest growing economy in the world – if one chooses to believe
the veracity of a new methodology which economic observers say has inflated the country's
growth rate. Among those sceptical of the accuracy of India's growth numbers are chief
economic advisor Arvind Subramaniam and Reserve Bank of India governor Raghuram

What has been done so far? Let’s see..
1. For the first time country’s PM is publicly saying to make toilets. That’s Mr.
Narendra Modi.
2. For the first time there is a lady who tries to solve problem of every Indian in
other countries and rescue them when it is required. She is none other than our
Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj and her team.
3. For the first time there are villages which are electrified now and rest all will be

4. For the first time Indian railway stations have free WiFi (well just started and
by next year around 500 stations will have this facility) with support of Google. All
thanks to Railway minister Mr. Suresh Prabhu and his team.
5. For the first time the government listened to long awaiting problem of our defense
personnel and implemented One Rank One Pension(OROP). Hats off to
Defense Minster Mr. Manohar Parrikar.
6. For the first time there are many Indians who have their bank account open. All
thanks to government’s Jan Dhan Yojana.
7. For the first time there are so many foreign companies who have invested for Make in
India project.
8. For the first time you will get an app to track the government initiatives. For example,
National Ujala dash board app, Meri Sadak, Umang, DigiLocker etc. All thanks to
Digital India initiative.
9. For the first time almost all ministers are active on social networks and actively
helping people. Isn’t this their duty? Of course Yes but no previous government did in
this way so looks new.
10. For the first time ever India joins Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR).
All thanks to Indian leadership.
11. For the first time other countries are openly telling that India will be next
superpower in near future because leadership was the one factor that was lacking.
12. And last but not least, till now we have not heard of a single scam in this government.

Even though prices are high when compared to earlier in market, farmers are committing
suicide. People below poverty level are still suffering and fighting with hunger.
Education sector is not given much importance. ( Fees of IITs are increased compared to
that of private Eng colleges and allocated less amount of money to institutes of national
standard ) .
Health in government hospitals still lacks certain minimum requirements . Private
hospitals are using this chance to loot as much money as possible.
Living standard of people from higher level are improving , while people
from lower level are depriving.

Yes indeed. I have had a first hand experience on how totally government unresponsive
matters can be resolved within 24 hours with the intervention of our PMO.
So the story goes like this. I moved to Bangalore about 4 months back and I as trying really
hard to get a fixed line broadband connection. I tried with various service providers like
Airtel, Hathway etc, only to be told that my area does not have enough ports to give a new
connection. Finally, without any hope, I contacted BSNL. The area enginner slammed the
phone saying that there were 100s of people in the waiting list before me, waiting to get a
connection. I was totally frustrated. In the 21st century, with our focus on building India,
here we are, getting some lame responses for obtaining something basic like a broadband
connection.
Unable to contain my anger, I went to the PMO grievance portal and lodged a complaint
there, giving details f my address and my grievance. I lodged a similar complaint on the
Telecom Minister’s website. I did not have any expectation whatsoever that the people
sitting so high up in the government hierarchy would have any interest in knowing why I
was not getting a broadband connection.
But, to my utter amusement, within 3 days of lodging the complaint, the area engineer(
who earlier had been quite grumpy) called me, addressing me as “Sir”, telling me politely
that a new connection can be given to me. He “requested” me to come to the exchange and
apply for a new connection. Not knowing the reason for his sudden behavioral change, I
applied for a connection and got one within 2 days. Out of curiosity, I checked the status
of my grievance on the PMO website. I was shocked to see that my grievance had been
forwarded by PMO to the area exchange, asking them to address it. Only after seeing it, I
realized that the I could get a connection due to the PMO’s intervention.
Until then, I had only heard stories of how the PMOs’ intervention was speeding things up,
but from that day onwards, I have begun to believe that the government is intently
listening to the common man’s voice and they are swiftly responding too.

Good or Bad, it depends on who you ask really. Most of the people here are pro Modi,
maybe because I guess what Modi has done might have been benefited them. But as of
now, he has been “All talk and no action” kind of a leader in my view. His plus point is, he
understands Indian people and knows how easily swayed they are by talks, and thats what
his speeches do. The Independence Day speech for example, his office sent hundreds of
millions of SMS and emails to the people of the nation, promoting himself, and asking
them to WATCH HIM SPEAK! No other PM has ever needed that. But he does, because
that’s how he works.
At this point I should make it clear that I am not an AAP supporter, nor do I
like Congress and neither a supporter of BJP. But of the 3 options we had at
the time, Modi was certainly the best.(I mean, Kejriwal and Pappu, a clown
could have won against them.)
As for the policies that effect us daily, not the Tweets to Railway Minister, not the
grievances to Foreign Minister, the funny thing is, we did not even try that at the times of
Congress, maybe if we did, they would have been listened to. It is just that, now technology
is a lot more widespread in India than it was 3–4 years ago and everyone has learned how
to use it.
Sorry, got swayed there for a second, but firstly, just to get it out of the way, I think he got
amnesia about the black money thing, just saying.
Economically All his plans are in the air as of now. Indian IT is declining. Machine
learning and Artificial intelligence have become mainstream and are literally eating
support jobs and as they becomes more popular, IT will continue to decline at a rapid
pace. There is going to be a disaster in that industry soon. As IT slumps, Infosys and Wipro

“Make In India” has not increased the influx of foreign investors anywhere. If you think
investment is coming, well that is because it was already coming for a long time, Modi is
just good at taking credit. But the thing is, many big investors of major startups in India
are pulling out, the startup industry which grew rapidly in the last 5–8 years has slowed
substantially in the last 2. Startup report says 50% decline in funding in March quarter

The changes are Many. To name two which have made India a better place to live for the
common man.
1. Swatch Bharat Abhiyan Since time immoral, except efforts made by Mahatma
Gandhi, every leader has only stressed upon the need for cleanliness & transparency
but they did little at national level. Every one knew like we memorising the nursery
rhymes. But it was only under the leadership of Modi the “virtue” was put in to
implementation. Now every one can see the change it has made in public places, in
govt offices, hospitals, railway station, roads. Recently while passing through an area
near CGO complex in Delhi after two years, I could see the difference swatch Bharat
programme has made. But it's just the beginning. Every citizen has to make it a part
of life. We can't expect Govt to clean my sir rounding.
2. Digital India: In Odisha state secretariat the file movement system has been made
digital. Letters are scanned and noting is sent & approved online. At central level
majority of application process for clearances like Forest clearance, NoC from railway
etc. has been made online. Earlier it was a nightmare for applicant & boon for corrupt
officials. We can see land records online in most of the states. Most of the Govt
services like applying for DL , LPG, Birth & death certificate, caste, residence
certificate etc have been made online. Earlier getting a Tatkal ticket means standing a
whole night at the counter. Now it can be done at irctc website. Two years ago it was
near impossible to book a Tatkal ticket through irctc. All these changes are not
something requiring huge capital investment by Govt but it needed the attitude of
Govt to change age old system. But to the common man they have made the whole
procedure fast & corruption free.

an advertisment to pay homage to the father of the nation.This is the image of this year's
advertisment.This advertisment has something different from the advertisments which
were given in previous years.
In this advertisment the government pays homage to Lal Bahadur Shastri as well who
was the second Prime Minister of independent India and a revolutionary leader.
I wasn't aware about the fact that Lal Bahadur Shastri shares the same birth date with
Mahatma Gandhi. There are a lot of advertisments on 2nd October in many newspapers
for paying homage to Mahatma Gandhi but none of them mentions anything about Lal
Bahadur Shastri.This is the advertisment which was given by government of Madhya
Pradesh this year.
This can be a small change but it really made me feel happy that an unsung hero of
our nation is finally getting some importance through this advertisment and a lot of people
like me has certainly got a valuable thing to know so we all can remember him on this

It was few days back I was travelling from Ahmedabad to Mumbai in 12902Gujarat Mail
train. In our compartment one fan was not working.
we waited for TTE to come and we complained him about the problem.
He told us to call on 138railway complaint helpline.
so we called on it and gave the details like problem,train no. , PNR ,last station frm whr
train had departed which was Anand.
they registred the complaint and the enxt station was vadodara JN(BRC) . it was around
12–12:30 of midnight. we lost hope . But we saw the miracle , 2 person from technical staff
came and repaired the fan in no time.

I don’t want to sound pessimistic about India’s development, but perhaps, I’ve a different
notion of “India” than other celebrated commentators. This post is not a propaganda and
I’m not prothis or antithat. If you’ve a prejudiced mind or you are one of those who do
not connect development of the marginalized with that of the nation, do not read further.
Although, certain good things have happened as highlighted in other answers, the
situation, as a whole, remains grim. When the people celebrate introduction of a fast train
or free wifi, let us not be oblivious of our poor farmers committing suicide. In Maharashtra
alone, around 3000 farmers committed suicide in 2015 [Maharashtra saw 3,228 farmer
suicides in 2015 ]. Currently, rural masses of almost the entire nation face severe
drought, which quite clearly is the result of governmental apathy to them. As per the govt
records presented in the Supreme Court, there are 330 million people affected by drought
in India [India drought: '330 million people affected' BBC News ]. What’s astonishing
is that an NGO had to petition the top court of the country to force to govt to provide relief
to poor dying farmers [Supreme Court to govt: No excuse for not offering relief in
droughthit areas Times of India ]. Of course, this govt, like any other, took shelter in
making excuses and had not even recognised villages as “drought hit” until the petition
was heard by the top court. There were four judgments rendered by the top court on
different petitions of the NGO; first of which can be read at [http://supremecourtofind
ia.nic.i... ]. The remaining judgments are available at www.sci.nic.in .
Further, in addition to giving shape to govt’s intention to make Vedic “Science” a part of
curriculum in schools [Science lesson from Gujarat: Stem cells in Mahabharata, cars in
Veda ], the govt in state of Rajasthan deleted reference to Jawahar Lal Nehru, India’s
first Prime Minsiter. The govt also (shockingly!) took to delete a chapter on RTI [Right to
Information], a movement that finally culminated into giving some assurance of
transparency in bureaucratic set up to common men [After Nehru, Rajasthan erases RTI
Act from textbooks ].
Recently we saw onslaught on civil liberties which culminated in students committing
suicide [Behind Rohit Vemula’s suicide: how Hyderabad Central University showed him
the door ] and being beaten up in courts [Kanhaiya was badly beaten up, Supreme Court
told ]!
The vicious Vyapam scandal in state of Madhya Pradesh has taken its toll by producing a
generation of faulty professionals who managed to get through the exam. Following
revelation of involvement of highups in the MP govt, a series of murders took place
effacing key witnesses and accused [Mystery of Vyapam Scam: The death toll keeps
increasing in India's killer scandal Firstpost ]. One may ask if it was not a govt crisis
warranting immediate resignation of the state ministers. It was only after the Supreme
Court intervened that the investigation was handed over to CBI [Vyapam scam: Supreme
Court asks CBI to take over all cases Firstpost ].
India ranks 133 in Press Freedom Index [2016 World Press Freedom Index | Reporters
Without Borders ], 76 in corruption index [India ranks 76 in Corruption Perception
Index ]. Indian cities top the list of most polluted cities in the world
[https://interactive.guim.co.uk/u... ]. Being in list of countries with most malnourished
children, India ranks 20th amongst leading countries with a serious hunger situation
[Malnutrition in India ].
Of course, the problems are too serious and too many to fit into a general answer. These
range from drastic reduction in budget for public health and education to onslaught on
forest rights of poor tribals in India [ESSAR: QUIT MAHAN! ]. In the wake of pollution
problem, the govt wants to dilute environmental laws in India [Modi government has
launched a silent war on the environment ]!
Thus, when a majority of Indian population survives on a mere 33/ per day [75 percent of
rural India survives on Rs 33 per day ], I wonder what would be called a real change for
India.

I am not much of a current affairs person. But I probably heard from my Dad that recently
Sundar Pichai paid a visit to India with Narendra Modi. Okay, what? You expect
everything to be the same before and after the meeting.
Always some things are discussed like apps and other tech stuff and also a very popular
word in India free wifi.
So there was this Railwire wifi announced by Mr.Narendra Modi. Well till this time I was
not aware at how many stations will this be working and what would be the speed.
And recently, I was travelling through train. I was at the New Delhi railway station, but I
couldn't use the wifi because, just when I saw the advertisement regarding the steps to join
wifi, my train was ready to depart.The end. I reached Patna. But then, my phone shows a
notification. Open wifi networks available.
I saw it to find that it was railwire. I connected to it by giving my phone number and then
using the OTP. And the wifi was working like a charm. The speeds were similar to 4G. I
downloaded and booked an OLA cab right away to my home.

Mr. Arvind Gupta, who heads the BJP IT cell, was one of the judges of this event. After
winning the event, I left him a twitter message hoping that Govt will "implement" and not

Better but not Best
I am really proud of having such a hardworking person as our PM. There are so many
good deeds that happened in his tenure till now.I am really overwhelmed with all the
answers praising about him and his government but if you follow it keenly there are some
downsides too.
1. DDCA (Delhi and District Cricket Association) Scam case:
a. Of course,it happened during the Congress rule but Arun Jaitley(Current BJP
Finance Minister ) headed this association at that time.Jaitley wasn’t even
questioned about this.
b. What baffles me is Kirti Azad became a Scape Goat and got suspended from
party for raising his voice on this issue.

I recently visited Chail in Himachal Pradesh via Kalka. The route from Kalka is somewhat
mountainous and we had booked an Innova as that's one of the better vehicles for hilly
roads. Must add here that I do suffer from motion sickness (dizziness / nausea due to
jerky movements during travel), and take due precautions for any long distance travel that
involves hills or choppy waters.
About halfway from Kalka, i felt queasy and felt the need to throw up. I asked the driver to
stop so that I do so when I am steady. After about 10 minutes when I was ready to resume
my travel, I looked around for a bin to throw the vomit bag but couldn't find any. For the
sake of other coriders, I obviously didn't want to keep the obnoxious smelling bag with me
in the cab to throw it off after reaching my destination . When I asked the driver, he told
me that the nearest possible location to dispose this in a bin is going to be 45 mins away..
And just when I thought I had no better way than to leave it roadside hoping that a
cleaning crew will take care of it in the morning, the cab driver stepped in and said “mujhe
de do saab, mein fenk dunga dustbin mein. Modi saab akele kitna karenge” (Translation:
Give it to me, Sir, I will dispose this off in a bin. How much will Modi Sahab be able to do
by himself). He opened up the trunk, took 5–6 full sized pages of newspaper, wrapped the
vomit bag in it, tied it with a small string, and then put it back in the trunk.
Never before did I feel so good after throwing up!

No Regularization of Airport Development Charges
Hyderabad Airport charges more than 700 rs just for using the airport charges under the
name of User Development charges. This is more than the cost of the entire Flight Ticket
from Hyderabad Bangalore\Mumbai etc.. (Bangalore\Delhi charges around 300400 rs)
No record of Money
Govt has selled 19 Coal Block for 2.3 Lakhs Cores. we have no idea about how that money
is being used and where it is used.
Addon Taxes
Keep on adding taxes from 12.5% tax to 15% tax in 2 years.(Whatever this might be it's a
Middle Class people who suffers the most nor the Lower Class nor the Upper Class people)

Well I think yes.
My home town is in Haryana and I have been living in Pune. We have BSNL broadband
connection back home (The one in Haryana) and were facing constant connection
problems primarily because of the underground(UG) wire pair. The problem persisted for
about 3 months and the people from BSNL kept telling us that they didn’t have a new UG
cable pair, so it couldn’t be replaced. So, I decided to write a detailed mail to
mcitoffice@gov.in mentioning the last 9–10 complaint numbers. Also, I decided to raise
a brief grievance at Grievance Redress Mechanism in Government .I expected to receive a
reply from mcitoffice@gov.in but that didn’t happen.
But raising the Grievance did the trick. It was transferred to Sanchar Bawan in Delhi first
and then below the chain gradually (To the local BSNL office at last).
Surprisingly, the issue was resolved within 10 days, I guess. I received a call from a
JE(Can’t recall if he was JE) posted in regional office to convey that the problem has been
resolved. Also, they called the home number to confirm if the telephone and internet was
working fine or not.
Later, I tried looking up for status at the grievance portal and it was mentioned as closed,
problem being the UG pair and the head office (which is in Ambala) was copied as well.
So, yes, India is indeed changing, all thanks to PM and egovernance.

Three incidents in last year itself, as experienced by my family in India.
First, my dad booked gas from the local agency. No response for two days and on the third
day when he called up the agency, they said that the booking was cancelled. Surprised, he
booked again and again the same thing happened. And the third time over. So my dad
went over to the agency. The manager was very rude. Anyways, my dad bought the
cylinder there and brought with him. Then he lodged a complaint on PM’s website. Within
two days, the owner of the agency came running to our house, apologizing profusely and
requesting us to write to the PMO that our complaint was wrong. We, obviously, refused to
do so, but dad promised to write an appropriate letter, telling that the problem was now
solved.
Secondly, an export license application (even online one) would not go through or there
would be errors, and then the process was taking very long. One email to the PMO and the
director for the department called to explain that there were issues in the website because
it is new, and taking sometime. And then helped through the application process.
Third, an income tax issue has been pending for years, it has been paid in the correct year
and we had presented appropriate documents. There was some error in the government
database and we would be charged penalty every year for default. No matter what
documents we presented and whoever we tried to contact, the issue would not go away.
Again, just an email to the PMO and not only was the problem solved and accounts settled
within a month, but we were reimbursed for the extra payment that we had made!
Yes, things are changing in India. But it is not an easy job to change this culture of graft
and incompetency, in a country this huge and this complicated. I hope more people are
learning from our PM’s dedication and sooner than later, we do not need to write to PMO’s
office for our everyday issues. That all of us become more responsible and more upright
citizens, and also expect more from our government and social agencies. That we stop
tolerating substandard lifestyle (even the richest person in India has to navigate the same
bad roads, same floods and open drains, mounds of trash and polluted air). We deserve
better and we are capable of building it for ourselves. If PM is leading the way, we need to
follow him to the utmost of our capabilities.

Narendra Modi got a tremendous majority he can use to revolutionise India & he is doing
so but its just a mirage. Why so? Let's examine
1. Agricultural Sector India being agrarian country has lowest contribution in GDP
from agricultural sector. Now with India hitby drought twice in one year & suicide rising in
NDA regime, farmers can hardly expect anything from PM. Hell he hasn't visited drought
hit area reason there is ample time for election.
2. Employment employment generation for youth was the promise PM stressed upon.
Results are in front of everyone Employment rate has fallen since NDA came to power.
Seems this was another JUMLA.
3.Poor Business Infrastructure in last 2 years he visited almost every country,
intention being to attract foreign investment. What he is not realising is DEVELOPING
BUSINESS INFRASTRUCTURE is much better option than going in foreign country &
asking for investment. Lack of infrastructure has been pointed out by many MNCs leader
but it has no effect on PM. Their is an old saying 'IF YOU TAKE CARE OF SMALL
THINGS, BIG THINGS WILL FALL INTO ITS PLACE'. Calldrop, low bandwidth, poor
connectivity,3040days it takes to start a business in India, Redtapism & no. Of problems
are still there to be addressed. If this problems are not solved no company will dare to
enter Indian market.
4.Education policy which can really transform indian into worldpower, our education
sector has been worse right from independence. Political interference has been the major
reason. Now with Smriti Irani being HRD minister introduction of Sanskrit in IIT,
withholding NEET will be common in next 3 years. PM should realise it EDUCATION is
the best tool to work on.
5. Corruption Lokpal bill passed in 2014, 2years have been passed & till now no lokpal
has been appointed. Reason being law needs amendment. In past 2 years PM wasn't able
to ammend a law & appoint a important constitutional post like LOKPAL. Clearly, PM has
shown its true colours.
6.Debtrecovery bill this bill introduced and passed by both the houses but this law
still lacks what it takes to throw willfull defaulter behind the bars as mentioned by experts.
Also PM fav Adani Group accounts for 79000cr loan, entire agricultural NPA accounts for
this amount. So is PM sleeping on such issues.
And there are no. Of issues which PM promised preelection never speak uponupon now.
Nodoubt history will remember him as first noncongreesi PM with full majority but will

Most of below answers proves that India is changing. I will touch more of a behavior
aspect of India changing.
Yesterday I was travelling from Delhi to Nagpur by Rajdhani Express and in my coach AC
was not cooling upto the mark. So one person complaint that to the attendant but he
ignored it and continued his work. So this guy said lets wait for TT to come and tell him
the complaint or then we will tweet to Mr. Suresh Prabhu.
When TT came he repeated same request to him. TT knowing the enormity of issue has
taken that request on priority basis and started to make some effort in that direction to
make sure that problem is solved.
I was just a mere spectator of whole episode. What I felt was that, this government has
made sure that the common man is empowered to get what he deserves. The end user is
empowered, which was missing from previous 60+ years where we had no one to go to
with our queries and if we had someone it would take time and results were not assured.
What this government is trying to do is to get Accountability and Transparency in the
behavior of India and Indians. Now everybody has power in their hand to make sure that
they can make a difference.
And I think this is the biggest change!

I would like to emphasize on what I saw the practical change in my college campus.Every
one has written a lot about the schemes launched by the government.
I study in National Institute of Technology,http://Jamshedpur.It Is called institute of
national importance,but the security of the campus was critical.This campus has not got
the fencing wall yet from its founding days .You will have to face problem where campus
starts and where end.Localites roam as they have no other path to follow than the college
main road.There is passage of vehicles from the campus for twenty four hours.This
problem exists for a long period of time.Now I wann to explain the incident which
happened in march2016.We don't have the subsidised canteen like IIT,but like all
engineering college we also have a hangout place,where you come out of meshy food of
mess,enjoy and have gossips.The name of that dhabba come hotel is GUPTA HOTEL,run
by Mr.Gupta,exist in college for long Time . In the end of last semester we just saw
how casual security system of the college became fatal for our loved Guptajee.The localite
gang leader Mr.Mangal tudu shot down guptajee Just for fucking Forty thousand .This
became a very trending coverage for the local media and some national media and became
famous as shootout at NIT Jamshedpur. Fortune favours the brave any how Gupta jee is
safe after getting three shot out of which one shot was just in the form of head shot
I have written all the about security flaws and shootout,have now become past for us .With
the start of new semester from August,we change the transformation in my college
.The construction of campus wall is in progress.Now the security of campus has been
increased. The government has taken an immediate action fo this shootout and applied

I would love to answer this in a simple way.
Suppose as an BBA/MBA student in India . All these candidates have plan and ideas
which can help in country's development . But 99 % will only talk about that by making
PPTs and videos ,take about scope ,Funding etc. But only 1 % among them will try to
implement their idea on the ground.
Among those 1 % will fail and some of them may emerge as successful
because the way they implemented there idea with passion and patience.
Around all the world Government duty is same welfare of state and its people .
So Congress only talked about various Ideologies from the Independence .
They might have wished to bring prosperity to the nation but they failed
because they never did any hard work in bringing the change.
They lack the leadership which was required. Many countries got Independence after
India but they are far beyond us in terms of Facilities and Infrastructure.
Modi and BJP do not have any Magic Wand But he executed the ideology
properly. He has changed Gujrat and he is bound to Change India now.
He has clear vision. He is focused. He is doing what has to be done since Independence.

He is leader who wants to make India developed and We need to support him

Well here is my note on how change is happening. I am currently trying to get my degree
from DU SOL, and visited the university twice in last 1 month. Mentioned are the changes i
noticed:
Earlier, 6–10 years back the respective employees at various counters/windows were
either missing or too rude while replying. Since the visiting hours are from 9:30 am to 3
pm, i have rarely seen anyone coming before 10 am. Lunch time is 1–2 pm, and the
respective employee never reached the window before 2:30 or 3 (just to say we are closed
now, come some other day) and some didn’t even bothered to come back. The students
had to return and it was a struggle to get anything done, even if you called before going
there consider yourself lucky if the phone was picked. If you needed information the reply
was usually vague or they would ask you to find out yourself. I had to travel 2 hrs. on one
side for multiple days just to get books or pay fee etc. They wouldn’t even bother about it
and work was done only when closure date was near. I once got frustrated and asked to
meet the Dean, which was blatantly refused. I somehow found his room and he just
refused to entertain me.
Coming to present day I checked on the website which window/ room no. I had to visit to
get my degree (the website has been updated and changed a lot). I reached there at 11:30
am and entered the particular room. One of the assistants immediately got up and asked
the concern. I said i wanted to retrieve my degree and handed over my mark sheets. He
immediately checked the respective cupboard and found out that my degree wasn’t
printed yet. He gave me a form to fill, explained it and then marked the next room no.from
where i needed to get some particular column filled, signed and submit the form back to
current room. I was also given the directions of next room. It took 5 mins to get all this
done and they told me it will take 6–8 weeks. Early this week i visited again to check the
status as i need my degree urgently for employment purpose. I discussed the same with the
guy i met earlier, he asked me to write a letter and attach copy of offer letter for issuing a
temporary certificate. I was guided to nearby cyber cafe, i got the printout, wrote the letter
and all was done in 30 minutes. They stamped it and directed to get it signed by the Dean.
While i waited in his room, he was very patiently explaining to the man in meeting with
him that he cannot cancel the student’s registration as he is answerable to HRD. That man
was repeatedly telling him that he was the father of the student and due to some medical
condition of his son he will not be able to continue his education. The Dean asked for all
documents and proof that he was student’s father. The man showed him all docs. and his
voter ID card. The Dean higlighted that the surname on man’s id card and student’s docs.
didn’t match, and how should he believe he is the student’s father. After some argument
the Dean told him that he cannot risk a student’s future and asked the man to go back and
either come back with sufficient proof along with medical certificates or bring his son with
him next time. I was amazed that how much Dean cared about that student’s studies and
this could prevent so many forced drop outs,specially in case of girls where parents do not
want them to continue. After that he met me, i explained my case and he promptly signed
the letter, gave me his phone no. in case employer needs verification and said that he will
get my degree processed on priority. Also, the man in degree deptt. shared his cell no. with
me and told me to give him a call after 5 days before coming again. He will check and tell
me when my degree is available, so that i don’t need to travel unnecessarily. All this was
done in 1.5 hours compared to days earlier.
So yes, Modi govt. is improving the govt. Institutions atleast!

Though a strong believer in Modi's administrative ability, I didn't really know PMO
grievance redressal portal is working so fast. I had been in touch with a person from
Hadagaon of Nanded District in Maharashtra who does a small clothes business as part
time job. He has a loan of close to 1.5 lac from money lender which is at interest rate of
40%. I discussed MUDRA loan scheme with him sometime back. Last week he got back to
me saying that Money lender lobby in the area is not letting banks lend MUDRA loan. I
didn't really know how to help him.
On lazy Friday (Jan 30, 2016) afternoon, I just opened PMO grievance portal and jolted
down a complaint. On Feb 1, the person receives a call from local SBI for MUDRA loan.
Today he has finally gotten the loan

Things really have changed. Law has better penetrated into the commonfolk now, and it is
apparent when it is about a certain flock.
Just like many other stories on this thread, here’s what I would share too:
“Two weeks ago, on July 9, a resident of the village named Rama Singrakhiya was planting
castor seeds in a small piece of Panchayatowned land. He worked as a labourer on farms
across the village, earning Rs 150 on a daily basis, but that day he was tending to a patch
he believed was his land. As Rama worked in silence, a mob arrived, dragged him away
and brutally beat him up. According to villagers, the mob, led by the sarpanch, Harbham
Karavadra, hacked him into pieces.
In the run up to the incident, tensions had run high between Rama and Harbham over a
19 bigha plot, a small portion of an 1,800 acre open area that had been donated to the
panchayat to be used as grazing land. Rama, village panch Ramesh Karavadra told me,
had continued to farm on land that did not belong to him even after being warned of the
consequences.
“He refused to listen to us and kept claiming the land was his. Harbham had no choice.
You cannot disrespect a cow. After all it was grazing land,” said Ramesh.
Rama’s defiance upset the villagers for two reasons. He was cultivating land that did not
belong him, disrespecting the panchayat’s repeated warnings, and he had scorned the
cow, a sacred Hindu symbol, explained Rameshbhai.
While Harbham and two others were arrested for the gruesome murder, Rama’s family
refused to pick up his body from the Jamnagar morgue for a day after his death,
demanding justice for the way he was treated. By the time I visited the village, his family
had locked up their house and moved away.”

We have come a long way into our understanding of law. So much so, that we take it into
our own hands. Now how has India ‘MODIfied’? Why not. A certain traffic police
constable may be inspired to work efficiently, a govt ministry may reply to your mail within
days, why can’t the mob take a cue of empowerment? Endless foot in the mouth remarks
by our MPs, and the silent endorsement by the PM has only removed the barrier of fear.
Votes were asked in the name of pride of Goumata, the bigotry hasn’t stopped after the
elections yet. Buoyed by the presence of Hindu Hridaya Samrat, the vigilantes have been
thrashing and beating ‘culprits’ in every nook and corner. I’m sorry if you did not come
across it among the Prisma display pictures. The silent endorsement and implicate
potential of milking the cow for votes only making things worse.
Yes, why should it bother anyone? We are apparently getting our DL on time, toilets are
apparently clean, ministers are replying on tweetsits all hunkygoey isn’t it. Our lives are
comfortable. Until the idea of mob justice someday ‘horns’ your door.

It is changing, but not at the rate or towards the direction it should be. Let me talk about
Indian railways, since lot of them are talking about Railway stations and Indian trains.
So they say New Delhi railway station got this amazing lounge.
(5 crores spent on IRCTC lounge)
Is that a change ? No not really. I have seen such things happening forever now. It
happened during UPA1, UPA2 and before that. UPA also modernised India railways to
such extent. This is really not something awesome. It looks brilliant on twitter and Quora.
What hasn't changed and what should?
1. Railway tracks and platforms in Delhi are one of the most dirtiest. National Capital
with an AC lounge, but when you step out you are walking on pile of garbage. Swachh
bharath doesn't seem to be working here or doesn't apply here.
2. General Class: Nothing here has changed since British introduced railways in India.
The number of tickets issued seems to be unlimited but the amount of space is limited.
What are they doing about it? You may say why don't you reserve your seat? Even
after reservation I have share my space with atleast 4 people. With 2 of them sitting at
my foot, because they didn't spend extra 15/ on reservations!!
3. Toilets: Do I really need to talk about them?
4. Ticketing system: Buying a ticket in unreserved section is still the same. Massive
crowd, grumpy employees who throw change at your face, walk away to apply lipstick
or talk over the phone forever without bothering about 100s of people in Q and a
strong union to back these useless employees.
So for a regular guy, who wants to travel from point A to point B nothing as changed.
PS: Minister replying to your concerns on twitter is great. Even during UPA I have raised
my concerns on different portals and have got them resolved. Again nothing new.
PPS: I'm a fan of Modi campaigns. UPA had such campaigns too. Campaigns and
schemes are useless as long as they are executed well. AC lounges can wait, I need the
basic first.

Let me tell you what happened with me few days ago….
I was travelling in an auto in pune at late night. The auto driver said, bhaiya jaldi chalo
muze dusri shift pe jana hai…
(Brother, please do fast as I have to go for second shift)
we were surprised. I asked, 2nd shift?
He said, kya kare bhaiyyaji, sirf auto chalane se family ka gujara hota to hai nahi, isliye
raat ko watchmen ki naukri karta hu IT park mei.
(To run family, it's not sufficient to drive the auto. So I also works as watchmen)
We all were shocked by his reply. Again I asked him, how did you find the time for your
family then?
His reply was fabulous….
Bhaiya mai to sirf 12 ghante (8 hr auto driver and 4 hr watchmen) kaam
karta hu taki meri family kuch kha sake lekin apne PM Modi ji ko dekho,
unki to koi family bhi nahi hai tb bhi wo akele 18 ghante kaam karte hai,
jitna time bacha sakte hai bacha lete hai, to mai meri family ke liye itna bhi
nahi kr sakta hu kya?
(I'm just doing 12 hr work for my family so that they can eat at least but our PM Modi who
don't have family is working for 18 hrs daily for our nation. Then I can do this much at
least)
We were surprised to here that from auto driver. I wonder if he can understand Modi's
work then what happened to people like Kejriwal and Rahul Gandhi who
always criticises him but still he continues his work.
I think, every person in India is somehow inspired by Modi ji and his work and trying to
change themselves. This is why I'm pretty sure that Modi ji will win the election in 2019
with full majority and India may become superpower by 2025.

I sometimes go grocery shopping to help out my mom who'd be busy in the kitchen
cooking.
So this one day I decide to go to the vendor from whom I've been purchasing vegetables
since a very long time.
I noticed one thing. I couldn't find any plastic bags around.None.
I decided to ask him about this and he told me the reason for this change.
Apparently since a few days the police have been seizing all the plastic not only from her
shop but from all the shops in that area. She was also fined about Rs2000. Not only that,
She was given a receipt for the fined amount.
She seemed pissed so I had to point out the perks of letting go of plastic. I somehow
managed to convince her.

Earlier, sending a complaint to Indian Government was equivalent to sending a criminal
feedback request to the middle East! All were corrupt! Government was the biggest joke of
India.
The impact of government over me was such that,
1. I never went to file a complaint regarding my lost driving license.
2. I never went to collect my bachelor in Engg degree from my "govt" university.
3. I never went to collect any "proclaimed" benefits from the government.
4. I never went to the Municipality/Magistrate for my daily life hassles.
5. I never used Railway station waiting halls or relay rooms for taking bath!
We people had kinda accepted the fact the Government is just for namesake!
After the arrival of Modi Sarkar,
1. I choose Railway 1st class waiting hall over hotel.
2. I choose to go online and file complain blatantly against any bullshit I see. (Except that
I dont find the need anymore).
3. I choose Indian railways over flights!
4. Recently at Shimoga town, we chose a govt. sponsored Lodge over the private ones just
for its cleanliness and convinient price!
India sounds more organised and poweful now. The gross problem of littering everywhere
is successfully being controlled and even brought down, thanks to the wonderful Swach
Bharat Abhiyan. Mr. Modi has EMPLOYED millions of Below poverty line people into
various posts of cleanliness staff (Swachh Bharat Abhiyan), unlike Congress which kept
cribbing about every single thing. Modiji did two things in one shot: Provide employment,
and ensure cleanliness. Where were the Congress people's brains? They all were busy
attending Rahul Gandhi's speech? I guess so! Thank God the Indian youth is awake, that
we did not choose a fool over our head!

If you remember, Congress in its last days started a pension scheme, in which people with
the age of 60+ will get INR 500 each month.
So at first procedure was like this
Government will initiate the pension every month and will send it to post office and post
man will distribute it. But as usual corruption was problem here.
I personally know many people whose pension was lost between government and them.
But now what Modi did
In Jan Dhan Yojna government officers will come to every area and will make a bank
account for each person. Now these people are receiving that pension in their accounts, so
zero corruption.
But big thing in this story
People whose pension was lost, they were pure Modi haters. And now they were saying
Whatever we say about Modi, but he is trying to do some good things for
India.

1. Make in India campaign is a success. Manufacturing in India is one of the top
priorities, how could you tolerate the fact that we purchase 90% of the arms Indian army
is using.
2. Swatch Bharath : India is famous for being dirty and open defecation. It was started
with this noble thought of making India clean. I'm sure it inspired every Indian at least
individually to contribute to this.
3. Jan Dhan Yojana: There was an eternal corruption in govt schemes especially when it
comes to pension and anything that is directly beneficial from government. You knew that
it created world record.
3. Investment destination: The global investors see India as their top destination, the
country in making needs a lot of investment. Modi struck the right chord with investors.
4. Foreign relations: With in ten months of assuming charge, Modi changed the global
equations, he was successful in containing China. There are numerous deals with other
countries that are beneficial to India
5. Governance: He asked MPs to be discipline and no favoritism in decisions at least
from the last ten months. You can see the example of coal block allocation.
6. Modi's gesture as a common man: You can look at his independence day speech,
his mann ki bath on radio. He simply commanded respect from every corner of India. He
is humble and admirable, its been a while since people of India admired their PM.
These are only a few things to mention here, I don't need another 5 years to judge him!! :)

Centre of Excellence which also offer startup incubation programs and much more. The
first Indian Centre of ExcellenceInternet of Things mentored by NASSCOM, ERNET,
DEiTy and Government of Karnataka is getting inaugurated on July 4th, 2016. It will be a
feat to watch out for. It will offer advanced labs and will also act as a bridge for startups to

CHANGE HAS STARTED
I am currently staying in Chennai and using Tikona broadband service. I don't know what
happens but either every Saturday or every Sunday they will stop their service. Regarding
this I have sent a mail.
We use 1200 plan so 1200+100(tax) so overall 1300. So 1140 in below pic
They have sent reply like this.
As already we are having 450rs in our account so we need to pay 850rs but now its only
750rs.
Now
Anyway I have requested for 160rs they credited 100rs into my account.
Although it is private broadband, once upon a time no one even respond. But now change
has started.
Hope it will continue..

I'm really not sure about the statistics, but let me share an incident which occurred in our
area.
We stay in an Appartment at the Center of my city. It's quiet a busy area. Opposite to my
Appartment, there's an old independent house and right in front of that house lies a huge
dustbin.. The one where everyone from the colony dumps their waste. Which looks like this
:
Imagine having this right in front of your house! Not only was it embarrassing when
friends/family came over, but also it was a cause for many diseases. And talk about the
smell.. !!
Before 2014 elections, we tried really hard in all possible ways to get that removed, but in
vain. We tried almost for 10 years! But thanks to Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan
inspiration, even our state government and the local municipality have become aware of
such things and this was immediately removed as soon as we gave a complaint. Not only
that, a man was appointed for an entire month so as to see that nobody throws the waste
(garbage) in that place (Some people throw away wastes sometimes on the roads even
when there's no bin!!)
Now that place is good and we're happy that it's clean.
Also thanks to our local government for giving us these to each and every house hold :
One for the wet waste and one for the dry waste :)
PS: Even though last one wasn't done by the Modi government, the local bodies sure did
take an inspiration from his mission and the awareness has spread in a huge way

govt. Group behaviour of a populace grossly decides on the state of affairs of any society.
Examples abound.
A society with no dearth of lazy people, opportunists, bootleggers, cheats and insincere
workers, the best that has happened to India is Narendra Modi. He is definitely sincere,
decisive, clear headed and not corrupt.
He doesn't have a magic wand to drive away all the ills afflicting the country by just waving
it. He is certainly laying ground for better India. Poverty can be eliminated only through
wealth creation. That needs skills and manufacturing, which in turn need investments in
infrastructure and land. But we have seen what has happened. He got only resistance and
not cooperation of the political classes. Congress and left have vested interest in keeping
the masses poor, who do not understand visionary actions. They only get to hear emoting
issues of land grabbing without understanding the purpose of land acquisition. Without
manufacturing this country has no way to eliminate poverty. Having been fed of socialism
for decades our country men and women are unable to shed the ingrained empty ideals of
socialism and tend to see investors in bad light while they are the ones most neededModi
is gradually trying to dispel that notion.A rich man is indeed needed for investments.
Lots of bad things like institutionalised corruption, nepotism, rapacious behaviour of
ruling classes, laid back culture of working classes , gross indiscipline among the general
public cultivated by vested interests need undoing . This cannot happen over night. The
hyper expectations of masses without moving the finger is typical of our public.The public
must take responsibility at their level.
If everyone works sincerely and start toward building a new India, change will sure to
come. But unfortunately we just vote and then look for change while the so called activists
hijack the country for their own selfish interests.
Let us hope wisdom prevails among all citizens.

When i went abroad some years back, one of my colleague from that country was saying
that there were some pot holes left in front of her home because of some road maintenance
activity which is making her life difficult to take her car in and out. So she called local
authorities and complained it seems. They came and fixed it the next day. I was like. That
is amazing…
Coming back here, we have BSNL broadband @home for past few years.. When we started
the plan was 8GB with 2Mbps speed. Sometime back BSNL gave a promotional offer for
8Mbps speed for 80GB for around Rs.1100 or something. So i went for the new plan. (As i
couldn’t see the plan online in their customer portal to change, i had to go to exchange to
give a letter in writing..old fashioned one). Well plan got changed for the data limit but not
the Speed. It was still under old 2 Mbps. I used to raise complaint in their customer portal
and they will call me & say it will get fixed in a week time and then they will close the
complaint. This has happened for quite some time. Fed up of this i raised a complaint in
their grievance portal and the next day, a call came to our landline asking to check the
speed. When we checked it was around 7Mbps. Great.. Issue got resolved only after raising
in the grievance cell. But still 5n.
Second incident, for the last 15 days, internet was very intermittent in our home and used
to get disconnected 3–5 times a day. Sometimes no internet for 2 days consecutively. Again
the same drama happened with raising complaint online and closing saying issue will be
fixed. After fed up of raising it online, i tweeted to their corporate id yesterday. Today the
line man came to our home, explained the issue. While he was explaining, JE of local
telephone exchange came on line and asked if the issue is fixed and is the line man doing
proper job?. He asked me to talk to SE and he also was talking very nicely. (reason i am
saying nicely is, i know how they used to talk when we went for fresh application for land
line @our home town in late 1990s). Line man gave his number and asked us to call him if
any issue arises. Looks like they got a call from GM office probing on why is it taking such
a long time to fix the issue.
So bottom line is may be things are yet to be changed at grass root level. We may not get
our pot holes filled up at the next day of complaining, but we are gradually improving.But
we are marching towards correct direction. So in nut shell, yes India is changing may be
slowly but steadily. I could see similar incidents (tweeting about issue) from the ministry of
External affairs, Railways.

After that I shared the details Twitter (@socialepfo). I did this after reading so many
answers on Quora where people got the reply from Railway Ministry when they shared
their issues on Twitter. I wasn’t expecting the acknowledgement but it did happen.
And thankfully I have got the resolution also.

Indian Railways can finally be called efficient and improved.
There's an incident to support this verdict when a few days back I was in a train journey. I
along with my dad was alloted a berth just next to the coach's door (the most pathetic seat
anyone can have). The issue was that the door wasn't finely attached to the nails on it's
side as the nails could be seen coming out of the grip a little.
The problem arised when people opened the door and it would take 46 minutes closing
itself in a very slow pace which led to the air conditioners' coolness gushing out of it
making us feel hot.
It was when I showed the disgust of this abhorrent condition of Ind. Rail to my father that
he jokingly told me about a phone number given by IRCTC for lodging complaints.
Knowing the inefficiency of Indian Govt, out of boredom I wrote them a text containing
the detailed info of the train number, location, coach, berth no. and the door issue. I
seriously had not even a mere hope that this would help. I was dissolved in hopelessness
when in less than 15 minutes the in charge came along with two workers and got the god
damn door fixed and I finally encountered the good feel sitting there.
A signal that the ever abominable irctc is no longer the same. Complaints are being
attended, cleanliness being maintained, efficiency being improved after eternity.
What else would the citizens expect. It's Modi Govt making all unexpected realistic. So
yeah India is being changed in a good way.

After reading some of the answers I want to give a little Information on the reason why gas
prices are still high.

I have a very interesting incident to share, I don’t know whether it’s the “Modi effect” but
definitely India is changing.
I was driving a car on a family trip at night. I live in Shimla so it was a hilly area. Suddenly
my father asked me, why do you switch to low beam when some car comes in front of you,
when they are not doing it you shouldn’t as well. I said “Be the change you want to
see in this world” and he said “This is India no one cares what change you are
trying to bring” and I said even if 1 person switches to low beam in next 10 cars when I
do, you’ll start doing the same and he agreed. Surprisingly next 3 out of next 5 cars
switched to low beam when I did and my whole family was surprised and from that day on
my father does it too.
I’ve seen many such things in recent times:
1. People walking with trash in their hands looking for a dustbin.
2. People stopping their cars just to let people cross the streets.
3. People managing traffic themselves when it’s out of control instead of blaming the
govt.
4. Crimes are being reported more often because they are handled properly now.

Incident 1:
One of my Father's colleague had a baby this year. He told my father that he had a call
from the local Health centre that why isn't her daughter vaccinated. He told them that he
had moved from Daman to Udvada, Gujarat and got her vaccinated in Udvada. So they
asked that can they write in the records about thiss and he said ok.
This tells us about how the government is comitted towards its citizens.

(My father went to the central excise department)
Commissioner: (to the superintendent) Where are your health cards? Submit them
tomorrow at my office. At what time do you wake up in the morning?
Superintendent: 7:00 am , sir.
Commissioner: (in a stern manner) This won't work. Wake at 6 and walk for 2kms
atleast everyday.
Superintendent: Yes, sir.
Commissioner: And do Yoga for atleast 1.5 to 2 hours everyday.
Superintendent: Yes, sir.
This tells us how government is working to make its government offices more productive.

Year 2012 I work in IT industry and had to travel to Australia for an assignment. My
passport had got some water mark thus it was considered damaged and issue of Visa was
doubtful. There was lot of pressure from Account team as they had already commited to
Client.
Tried hard to get an appointment through website. If anyone had tried it they might be
knowing the pain of getting one appointment. Appointment used to get full within 1 min.
Tried looking for other ways but Answer was same.”Government ka kaam hai kuch nhi ho
sakta”.( As it something related to Government nothing can be done) and it will take long

Though it is just a small thing which just recently happened but had a good impact on the
officials working.
This all started like this..
I was kind of reporting an incident to the honourable prime minister of india, hrd minister
of central government and one or two more ministers about the negligence working
attitude of some bank officials, which was about to cost me my admission to post
graduation programmes.
The briefing was..
Respected sir,
I am facing currently a big problem involving the negligence of some employees of Canara
Bank Nagpur, Maharashtra.
The whole matter is,
I recently gave an exam of CET which was an entrance examination for seeking admission
in the National Power Training Institute. In which i got an AIR of 12. Based on which i can
get college of my choice, the course was one year complete post graduation course on
Power Engineering which was termed as Post graduation diploma programme. In order to
get admission I have to pay 2,76,500 rs as fees.
As it is a huge amount I applied for loan in one of the Nationalised bank of India. i.e.
Canara bank, Nagpur Maharashtra.
The admission consist of 3 rounds of which i have to pay fees in 3 installments..
1. 23000
2. 126601
3. 126500
Of which i have payed the first amount and took the admission and got admission receipt,
and collected all the related documents and approached the bank as i have talked to them
earlier. I took admission on 8 august 2016 and on the same day I went to the bank and
gave all the related documents to them in order to get the loan. They assured me that i will
get the loan. And i have to pay the next installment on or before the 22nd of this month. If
i failed to do so my admission will be cancelled. So i told everthing to the branch manager
Mr. X and one of the official Mr. Y. They assured me that they will look into the matter
and will give top priority. Since then i was continuously visiting them and asking about the
procedure and they said everything is ok and they just need to visit my house and will
complete the necessary formality.
They told me that they were visiting my house on 16 august, but gave me some reason that
they cannot come and they will come on 18. I said ok.
when i went yesterday i.e on 18th in order to ask them about the visit. They took out my
papers and Mr. Y was ready to visit my house and we all went to Mr. X branch
manager.later they told us that there was no such provision that they will be providing the
loan to post graduate diploma programme and they can't help us out.
I told them that how could they do this to us at such a crucial time when i just have two
days left.
They said we cant help you out.
They gave me several other reason that why they can't give me the educational loan.
Completely shattered i was unable to do anything for such negligible attitude of them.
Today is 19 august which is saturday and i have to pay the amount by 22 i.e on monday till
12pm.
Unable to think anything i just went to the bank manager again and asked politely to the
documents which i have given to them. And politely took all the pictures of the documents
in front of them.
At that time the branch manager was sitting with two other officials. Out of them one
asked me, what's next you will do.
i politely told then I will somehow TRY to manage the money and will pay the amount. But
will definitely do one thing, as you have said that there are no such provisions and
especially for the government recognised post graduation programmes, I will simply do
one thing and will simply complaint it to mr. Prime minister and our HRD minister and
one or two other ministers just by tweeting on twitter and will explain the matter to them.
If i dont get the loan , then atleast someone like mine do not face such situation in the near
future due to your such provisions which do not include giving loan to post graduation
diploma programmes. and i left the bank.
I came home and was kind of frustrated at that time, but to my surprise i got a call from
the same bank and mr. Y was on the line and told me that there is still something that they
can do for me and should immediately come to bank. I went to bank and they told me that
they have searched further and is ready to give the loan. I was kind of amazed and feeling
happy about such a small thing can make a huge impact on some officials for their
irresponsive behaviour.
Yes i do agree with this current government normal people can expect “ache din”.

Let me tell you a real impact story of digital India initiative.
I did my engineering from a government college in Uttarakhand. I completed it in 2015.
The fees for my college was Rs. 25000 per semester, so that means Rs. 50000 per year.
Now since it was a government college so at least 50% of the students of my college were
from the reserved category(SC/ST/OBC).
For such students there was a scheme of central government under which they were
eligible to get back there complete fee in the form of a cheque after submitting their
marksheet and other relevant documents to a concerned office in a nearby town.
For first three years I noticed that there was complete corruption going on in the process.
The students would go to that office and the babus there would ask for a straight
fee of Rs. 5000 to process their documents!! And it was so rampant that some
students believed that it is actually some kind of fee and not a bribe!!!!
But when Modi government came into power they digitized the whole process. A portal
was developed where students were required to submit an attested copy of all the relevant
documents online along with details of their bank account. As soon as the documents were
verified the students would get all the scholarship amount directly in their bank accounts!!
This is a very simple example if how middlemen can be removed and processes can be
made transparent using effective governance.
And yeah this is still prevailing!!!
I think that's one of the many ways how India is changing for good.

we still miss out on his achievements.
The most recent and successful scheme the government made was the Black Money
Amnesty Scheme. Over 65K Crore Rupees of black money was declared. This is a
resounding success

Yesterday I went to a restaurant(mess) in Koramangala, Bangalore. I asked him why he
increased the price of daal. He said, bhaiya daal was 100/90 2 years ago and now it's 200.
Toor daal was at 65 and now it's at 250. Then he went on to say that even the taxes have
increased by 2.5%.
I guess for the Indians on Quora or Facebook that does not matter, but it does for people
who aren't and have to struggle in life for Re 1 also.
I remember, “bahut hua garib pe atyachar, ab ki baar modi sarkar”.

I travel a lot and mostly on trains. The state of Indian Railways is one remarkable story
that has taken place in past two years.
I've never seen dustbins in Indian trains that too in general coaches nor I've seen tables to
eat inside any of the trains. (Pic attached: Taj Express)
Take the case of Taj Express that plies between H Nizamuddin and Jhanshi. The coaches
in the train are spacious, clean and full of amenities.
Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu is doing great service to Indian masses by offering world
class services at affordable rates. The transformation in Railways is sheer result of vision
and leadership of PM Narendra Modi, Suresh Prabhu and dedicated employees of Indian
Railways. It's true that there are several challenges ahead of Indian Railways, but things
are slowly catching up and I'm hopeful to see more of world class facilities in Indian trains
too.
At our end, we're supposed to keep our trains clean. Not like what many did with
Mahamana express. Respect the Good work.

Hearty News for Hapless Indians Modi sarkar cares
I have been an insurance Surveyor and Loss Assessor since 1986 mainly undertaking Fire
and Engineering claims of public sector general insurance companies. Then came the
Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IRDA) into being in 2000 and called
for performance data of the surveyors thus far with a view to categorize them. In 2001, I
was categorized as ‘A’ for Fire Surveys and ‘B’ in Engineering Surveys, as ‘B’ & ‘C’ category
surveyors were diminished into insignificance. However, as IRDA revealed the criterion of
categorization only in 2002, I had represented my case for ‘A’ category in Engineering with
supporting evidences.
However, as IRDA ignored my repeated reminders to redress my distress, I gave up and
learned to live with my ruined career for the past fifteen years. The least IRDA could have
done was to consider my representation on its merits and in case of its rejection, it should
have informed me about the same, spelling out the reasons for noconsideration. But for
the haughty IRDA it was as if the Surveyors are lowly creatures undeserving of normal
administrative courtesies.
But having learnt about Modi sarkar’s willingness to entertain our countrymen’s grievances
about the harassment by powers that be, I brought my said plight to PM’s attention
through MyGov portal. And lo, the other day, someone from IRDA contacted me and
informed me that that PMO had referred my complaint to them Now, I’m sure, IRDA can’t
sleep over the matter any longer and has to decide my case one way or the other, which in
itself gives me an opportunity to take it further if needed.
So, my countrymen and women don’t feel hapless and remain pessimistic about the
callousness of the powers that be that abound in our degenerated polity but know that
now India has a Prime Minister who cares for its citizen’s owes.

The biggest change that I noticed and felt is the positive aura which have been spread by
Modi Ji and hi government that too within 2 years. When did the International
community was so interested in India. I haven’t seen any PM doing a gesture like bowing
down to stairs of the parliament. The railways, now words needed. I used to skip the news
from politics section always, but after the Modi Government came into picture I am a keen
reader of political and economy section. Even i found myy friends equally interested on
news regarding Modi government and his policies and actions are a regular topics of
discussn among us.
Though I doesn’t support any political idealogy (P.S. the whom i used to support, lost it in
their due course), I do find Modi government to be very appealing, and my hopes are still
high from him, no matter what.

Yes India has changed under Narendra Modi. During UPA government India was
considered as a country dependent on powerful nations. Every aspect let it be defence, let
it be foreign policy of India was lagging behind. But today i am proud to say that India is
most powerful democratic nation. During UPA government various doctors,engineers used
to complete there graduation in India and used to startup in foreign countries.But the
wave of MAKE IN INDIA... has forced them to develop India. In 2013 India had 95 the
rank on the mark of corruption, but today India is on 56 position, YES iIndia changed.
Adarsh gram yogna started by Narendra modi is under stardom. Jayapur an unknown
village, which had no roads, electricity is now under overwhelming development under the
command of Narendra Modi, instance around 30 bio toilets have been started. Swacch
Bharat Abhiyan which gave a tough fight to Ice bucket challenge, created a sensation
among youth to clean India YES India has changed. Two years back petrol prices
deregulation of petrol had brought diesel and petrol prices almost same. India is a big
country it will change quasistatically ,yet India will change.......

Villages electrification under UPA: I year: 8000 and they didnt say a word
II year: 26000 and they didnt say a word
Next 12000, then 9000, then 18000, then 12000, then 8000, then again 18000. Now
India had just 18000 villages left to be elctrified. In two years, modi govt(bjp govt) roughly
electrified a total of 8000 villages and they are trying to claim it as a big achievement. This
claim if anything is laughable. And all the govt works have been going online and going
mobile gradually from UPA era only, the work has continued in nda too. I would like to
mention some of the u turns made by bjp:
1. Bjp was fiercely against implementation of adhar scheme quoting that people already
have a lot of identity cards to manage and another adhar would simply add to confusion
and chaos. Mr narendra modi too spoke against this. Mr arun jaitely even said that he will
give his life but would not allow such obnixious scheme to go on. But, time went by , govt
changed and so did many things. Mr arun jaitely is a cabinet minister in the central govt,
narendra modi is the prime minister and not only have they accepted adhaar scheme, but
are also taking credit for it and saving thousands of crores due to it.
2. Bjp and narendra modi were also against fdi. Mr modi even tweeted in 2012 that
congress is trying to sell India to the forgeiners, and as soon as he came to power, he
launched make in India program and tried tooth and nail to increase fdi in India.
3. Before coming to power, there used to be speeches that we will bring 10 heads for one of
pakistan, but, now our pm is celebrating birthday of pak pm and taking the same
diplomatic stance that congress used to take.
4. We know that bjp is known for hindutva and hatred against muslims. But, our pm after
coming to power started quoting things like 'muslims of India are patriots' and 'islam is
religion of peace' and likewise. Although its a different thing that this is an old tested
strategy of bjp, where leader plays good cop and other members play bad cop. During the
tenure of shri Atal bihari vajpayee, mr modi used to be the bad cop, but now he is the good
cop.
So, truly desh badal raha hai, bjp k netaon ki soch badal gayi hai.

process going in our country he provided the same to us..it is very appreciable act but what
if it provides the false data to all the indians!!!

It's party time for feminists!(Just kidding, we all are happy for this!)
The first time in my whole life, I saw a lady ticket checker in a railway!
Yesterday, I was traveling in NandedAmritsar, Sachkhand express & there itself I saw this
miracle.
We always talk about gender equality in India but there are some jobs which people believe
that only men can do. But what I saw yesterday was totally unbelievable. I saw Modi
government actually starting to give equal rights to women. It's really a brilliant step
towards women empowerment in a still male dominant country like India.
P.S.: Pardon me for not posting a photo of the lady because I thought it was
inappropriate to do so.

India is definitely changing and I can see that change around me.
Recently, I faced a problem with a delivery boy in HP gas. Both me and my husband are
working and we work just across the road from my home.
The delivery boy knowing that we are mostly not available at home stopped coming at our
home for delivery and would go back and tell that ‘Door was locked’. In that case, our
booking used to get cancelled. Although, many a times, I took a work from home after
receiving a message from HP gas that ‘Gas is about to be delivered’. But this delivery boy
would never turn up and my booking used to get cancelled.
I even called him and requested him that although I will be available at home but in case
you find door locked, just give me a missed call and we will come home in a matter of 5
minutes. Instead, he would fight with me and never turn up. He used to shout on me and
be very rude.
I had stayed in 3 cities but never faced such an issue with gas delivery.
I called gas agency multiple times but to no avail. I submitted my complaint on HP gas
portal but nothing improved.
Finally, I got an email Id from their portal and wrote my complaint to them. Next day, I
got a call from gas agency apologizing for what happened and told me that this will never
be repeated. He requested me to provide me a written mail stating that issue has been
resolved as he was supposed to close the matter by the end of the day.He gave me his
personal number to contact him in case I face this issue again.
I never expected this kind of response. The change that Modi Govt brought to our dayto
day might look small but have solved some bigger problems for our country. The changes
this govt is bringing in is a big relief for common man. It seems like common man has
some power in this country. :)

The thing I am about to tell you is regarding Indian Railways. It is not a huge change but
but is really significant and helpful.
The introduction of mobile charging slots in trains in general coach.
Earlier I could not use my phone while in a journey even while travelling in reserved(read
sleeper) coach because of the fear that the battery may die.
Now there is a charging slot in each row and it really helps.
I am writing this answer while I am in train and yeah charging my mobile :) :D .

It seems that the people have covered most of the points objectively. I would like to say that
the government has become more accountable and communicative. It has been actively
communicating to citizens and modifying their plans accordingly.
Now coming to the minorities issue India much more tolerant towards minorities as
compared to other nations. But now what needs to be done is to get more connection in
rural areas. The government should try address the problems of villages and make them
self sustainable. The Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna is a good initiative. More needs to be
done to rural areas welfare.
The present government is really serious about economic development. It has been working
to attract new investments from abroad and also encourage domestic investments.
This is coming from a Modi bhakt living in Gujarat.

Well, these types of questions always keep coming on my feed.There is always someone
telling his/her story about something that happened to him/her and then finally saying

Here is my 2 cents:In the year 2007, I was in Delhi and I had urgent need of reissuing of
my passport.
I applied through Tatkal, which says you get your passport first and then you have the
police verification. But it did not happen. Even while applying for my passport it took me
almost whole day to complete the process.
Then, they first did police verification and inspite of having all the documents, I was
harassed but finally I got my passport after 10 days.
Fast forward, few weeks ago, I again went for reissuing of my passport (nontatkal this
time).In Patna, Bihar (scary is the thought thinnking of Bihar with the kind of image it
has). I was really very scared but based on my knowledge I had hope.10:15 AM I had an
appointment. By 11:45 A.M, I was outside !!! :) And the way I was treated was appalling.
I kept getting updates about my passport statuses through SMS.
After 3 working days ( yes, I read it correct, no typo error, 3 working days !!), I had my
passport in my hand. Unbelivable !!!!After that my police verification is done which is also
completed. So , this is my story of how I can see India is changing under PM Modi.

It is the first time that a government after two years, has seen a visible change in
perception towards India.
If you go back the last five years, India was a destination neither for FDI or FII
investments, a fact which nobody wants to talk about. One of the things which Modi has
done fabulously well is to go out and act as a cheerleader for India and change the
perception. The first year, we saw Modi travel to various countries and in the last 12
months you have seen him pick up the same discussions with global CEOs.
I would say that is my first view on the Modi government, the change in global perception
about India. In terms of infrastructure change, in terms of the other economic changes,
clearly we are in a very stable position right now. Our economic growth continues to
remain relatively robust at 7 per cent plus. We have seen the infrastructure spend clearly
going up on the construction side and this is visible to the common man too. A lot of these
changes usually are not visible to the common man on a day to day basis and that is why
you have these discussions around a rating. From my perspective, this is going to be a 510
year journey which will show results.
So both on infrastructure side as well as on the economic growth, we are obviously moving
in the right direction.

Last year, I went to a SBI branch in my hometown in Rajasthan to open an account for
myself.
They gave me a form of 12 pages written in Hindi and asked me to fill it up. I put up all my
Hindi talent. At last, I could only write my name. father’s name and address.
I looked here and there for help but was unsuccessful. I gave up. If the form was in
English I would have some how managed.
I gave up for yet another reason and that is, for the sake of ID proof they asked me
a Ration card, a Voter ID card, a PAN card, ADHAAR card and 4 Photos of these I had
only 3 things.
So, I had to give up, wrapped up all papers and got back home.
Fast forward 06/07/2016
I again went to the same SBI branch to open an account this time having all the above
mentioned documents.
I accompanied a local friend to help me in form filling in Hindi.
They gave me a form and this time of 6 pages to fill up, to my surprise it was written both
in Hindi as well as English.
Big Sigh!
I filled it getting some help from my friend in 10mins and gave it to the banker attaching
all my documents.Banker corrected me at few places, actually a lot.
Yes, he helped me.
In fact, the biggest surprise to me was and am not exaggerating
Banker simply gave back all the documents taking only a ADHAAR card from me. Yes,
only one document and one photograph. Thats it. Done. In few mins handed me the
passbook.
Account opened in less than 20mins, I couldn’t believe it, whereas last year I was only
there sitting idle and looking for help with 20 papers in my hand.
Thank You Government. These simple things are ache din for me.
What I feel is, this government is changing things by figuring out the root problem,
making things simple for people.
MBA person would call it as enhancement of customer experience.
I felt it today and am sure even you will one day.

Yes India is changing under MODI government I would like to share my home experience
I am lived in Ahmedgarh, Punjab. Now Everytime after getting LPG cylinder delivery at
home we got phone call from company. Is cylinder is fully yellow coloured sealed on the
top and is delivery person is polite when talking to you and is there any money extra he
take from you even it's 1 or 2 rupees or he checked the cylinder weight in front of you.
I'm totally amazed by this type of service. Yes now we can say India is changing.

Indian youth are envisioned to think big and not to be caged in 4x4 cubicle. The projects
like Make in India, Start up India has not only provided a way to bridge gap in
Technological and infrastructural aspects, but has also made India in a bright visible list of
top countries around the globe.
Government facilities which earlier seemed a matter of foist, has changed exceptionally
and things are turning Digital!! For instance, Indian railways was mocked severely for its
services, and now a simple tweet can turn tables around. The cleanliness motive, farmer’s
fund now has taken a huge toll, the cess which we see in our bills, might not be now, but
surely shows a significant change in Indian condition as compared to nonModi governed
era.
Surgical strike, a bolstering move from the Indian defense not only shows how audacious
India can become but also establishes a strong pillar of thought, that India is not a country
to get easily swayed with.

Not at all Archaic laws and system hindering business's and small vendors
and nothing is being done by the government, if any thing the laws are being
made more stringent.
I started a business about 2 years back after quitting a decent paying job. With ambitions
soaring sky high, but soon was struck with ground reality.
Firstly
“ The ease of doing business in India” i you dont have a family background to get
yourself legally started, it would take more than 6 months
Secondly
“Jugaad” almost all the goods imported in India are heavily under valued. So the bigger
jugaad( repo with the govt officials) you have the bigger business you can do. If you legally
import goods with full custom duty you will incur huge loss. Been there
Thirdly
“Stupid Banking System”
Cash transactions are strictly banned in India. A customer from UP cannot deposit cash
into a vendors account in Delhi to get the goods

By banning beef whole India’s hunger problem has been solved.
By having swacch bharath now ST bus stands and Railway platforms are cleaner than

There is a lot of employment given to jobless youth to spam online forums about the
achievements of the government. Unemployment problem solved. Open a Quora account
Ask a question about the Govt. and invite fellow retards to write positive about the
performance. You just have to lie that since the British left the country its only now that
there are street lights, water, electricity, roof, clothes etc etc. Just claim that everyone was
without underwear and now that acche din has come everyone has access to a chaddi
now.
Just cook up some story about some railway food infested with cockroach and by tweeting
it the authorities took an helicopter landed on top of the compartment and sprayed
pesticide and killed the cockroach on time before it could cause any further damage. And
keep reporting it on facebook, quora and whatsapp.
Claiming mileage for relief in case of natural disasters. Pass it on to bhakts that tata nano
was used to ferry 50 million people overnight. They will keep spamming everyone and put

I haven't been a huge Modi fan but, this incident showed me that Modi might be doing
atleast SOMETHING. It was one of these busy days. I had to board a train at 5 PM. Went
to the station half an hour early. When the train arrived got into it. It was a third class AC
coach. It was filled with people as usual. After a few hours, guy from the railway
department came to take orders for dinner. *Reminded me of how unhygienic the food
can be and all the negative stuff* After a few minutes, I got a call from an unknown
number. On answering it, I heard a recorded voice go welcome of Indian Railways. It was
a feedback call from the railways department! I was shocked and surprised that the
technology has reached every individual to this extent!
This may not sound exciting to others but, as a rare passenger of train, who has all possible
reasons NOT to travel by trains, I found it very warm and comfortable that someone is
caring about my opinion in this country!

Modi’s election has really brought forward quite a bit of changes in India as expected by
most of the people. People now consider the governance to be more efficient and in some
sectors it is actually true. 2014 election had BJP win a huge number of seats esp in the
cowbelt area, Rajasthan, Gujarath and Andhra Pradhesh and this resulted in
strengthening of the power of one party in the central government meaning government
was no longer held hostage to the dirty coalition partner’s whims.
Modi Sarkar has been more focused on the macro issues and we saw the government
unleash a few huge projects that was both futuristic and impacted the present. The two

Swach Bharat is in my personal opinion a good move by the central government but the
truth is that many of the corporation and municipal panchayats in various parts have been
implementing the similar schemes with massive for years now. There is nothing ground
breaking about it or anything new. The good thing is that since it is sanctioned by the
central govt other areas which didn’t have these schemes also benefited and state govt and
local governments had a bigger incentive to take action (due to various reason which
includes getting in the good books of the government). Swach Bharat also saw government
levying an additional tax on various things in that name which is something I am opposed
to strongly because this not a luxury service or an additional act done by the government,
it is very much within their duties to do it and people already pay for it by the way of
various other taxes like corporation taxes etc.
Make in India. India obviously wants to follow on the Chinese footsteps and drive up the
manufacturing base in the country resulting in lesser imports and more jobs. But what
many people don’t realise is that this has a bad side too (I too didn’t realise it until I read a
brilliant anti capitalist, alter globalization book by a Journo). Increasing the
manufacturing industry don’t result in the improvement of the living standards of the
people, it doesn’t result in goods becoming cheaper and it won’t increase the wages either
atleast not in the long term. What India needs is more of Indian companies becoming
superior in their tech and them increasing their overseas market. What I would like to see
is better support to the startups in Indian market and more companies emerging to rival
the giants. This is the reason US is a super power, this is a reason Finland and Sweden are
developed. I don’t know if you have noticed but Indian companies don’t even make a good
or worthy switch plug or multi pin plug points, how many times have you had your
charger facing loose contact problems in plugs. Our country can’t make a proper switch
and now our PM wants it to manufacture smartphones.
There are other aspects to Make in India like transfer of tech in defense purchases or
contracts with foreign companies and these very good for the country but it happens that
these clauses and policies have been in existence before 2014 elections and we have seen
good results also from it namely the Brahmos missile program etc. All Modi did in this
regard is group some these existing policies and put a new name to it and market it like
hell and this has fooled many Indians to believing that these were all created out of Modi’s
vast mind and implemented for the first time ever.
Dissent.
This past months saw an explosion in students dissent against the government actions and
certain policies and frankly the government response have been disappointing anf just
wrong. We saw JNUSU leader Kanhaiya Kumar being jailed for treason despite lack of
evidence and we saw government twisting the anti government protest into anti india
protests and labeling the students seditioners and antinationals.
We saw various rightwing sangh affliated organization becoming more empowered and
interfereing or influencing the lives of ordinary people. Things like beef ban comes to my
mind and Modi’s silence on these matters have encouraged these fringe elements.

I highly appreciate the work done by current government upto this point in various field.
He is excelling the works in all the promised field. BUT, yes there is a but, there is a field in
which we had very high expectations on from present government and he is doing exactly
opposite to what he promised . REFORMATION OF CURRENT RESERVATION POLICY
He promised a better process for reservations where only needy would get it. It's not about
snatching the rights from SC/ST but curtail it so that upper class (financially stable,
currently at very high post in various departments ) ,i still can't understand on which
ground they ask for reservation, don't get this unfair advantage and actually deserving
SC/ST /OBC get what they truly deserve as they are the one facing obstructions
educationally and financially not people like current UPSC topper.

I don't want to criticise anybody. What I think is much of us are younger generation.
Mostly in our 20s. We didn't cared about reading newspaper when we were young. We
grow up in 10 year regime of Congress. Like any political system we end up hearing
criticism of Congress. So since when we actually started paying attention to news, we are
bombarded with criticism of Congress. Now when new party has came to power, we are
outpouring all what we have heard during all these years. So much of Euphoria in support
of modi is due to this. If we were mature enough at time of Congress and were critically
reviewing policies of Congress then we only we can judge anything.
Ps I am not against modi or supporter of Congress. I am presenting one drawback in
comparison techniques. And by the way modi has done really good in all aspects except in
dalit and cow vigalitism. If he correct these two then again AGLI BAAR MODI SARKAR

I also, would like to share my recent experience which is related to Department of
Publications.
Around 1 year ago, my better half decided to change her name completely. So I researched
and came to know about affidavit, newspaper publication. Then got her name changed in
Aadhar, bank account, passport, Pan card etc.
Now to change name in educational documents we required publication of name change
in Gazette. So I was got to know that there is no dept statewise for this and I have to done
it in Delhi.
I shoot an email to the Dept. of Publications email id and slept. next day at 10 AM in
morning I got a call in morning and Voila they were from DoP. He asked me politely what
was my concern and I asked him 4–5 question which I had doubt about. He answered me
so politely and I thought “Its not Indian way of doing work.” But it was real. I reconfirmed
his address and he told me timings too.
I was very surprised & happy too for this positive change.
One more thing that I had to get my degree attested recently. I searched on net, poeple
had answered questions about this processes. From those I realised that I had to get all of
my documents attested twice. Notary takes 20 rs per document and teachers in govt.
school takes pens etc as bribe for attesting.
So I directly called the office at Shiksha Bhawan, Panchkula, Haryana. The phone rang
the person picked but there was some bad noise and we could not talk. I did this for 7 days
but due to bad noise talking was impossible. I thought even when there is BJP in national
& state govt too in Haryana, still they have not done anything as office phones are not
working well.
Then I asked one of my friend who lives in Panchkula to visit the office and ask what is
required. He went and told that I dont need to get anything attested from notary and I can
attest it myself. That is not a major thing but still a positive change which would also
prevent corruption.
These are recent experience of my own and I read many experiences about Railways,
MEA, Surgical Strikes, Swach bharat etc regularly. And Modi knows how to behave with
international leaders not just read speech and come home.
I like thisgovt and I hope they would improve. 2.5 years are not much to judge nation
building and smart cities, Make in India & various other initiaves take time to give results.
Even setting up a company properly from scratch takes more time for make in India, Let
alone the outcome.

I am a supporter of Modi Government, but i have a very different opinion about it..
I have been sending email (more than 50 mails) regarding a problem about the accidents
taking place due to over crowding in Mumbai Local Trains to the various officials
of Railway Ministry , PM of India, Presidents, his various secretaries, CM of
Maharashtra,his secretaries , Local MLA etc, but not a single response from anybody.
I had then choose the other way to contact them “Twitter”, more than 10 Tweets to
everybody and still no reply, i have drop the idea now.

I doubt whether people on electronic media ever discussed about what the govt is doing
and where the country is heading. Atmost the discussion centered around the years budget
in Feb for the tax slabs and rates.

I live in a small town which is near the Bangladesh border. I'm engaged in a small business
that usually involves a fairly large amount of money. In the past two years, I've noticed the
number of counterfeit currency circulating is dwindling day by day. I asked about it from a
number of people and they agreed with my observation. So, one day i decided to ask one of
my friends in the border security force (B. S. F) and he told me that according to
instructions received from their superiors, they are strictly instructed to guard the border
with the utmost sincerity so that no anti social elements would be able to enter our border.
This instruction is strictly followed resulting in decrease in the number of counterfeit
money entering our country unlike the previous government that plays the minority cards

This incident happened with my mom about 2–3 months back. She is an agent in the
Indian postal services. Every month she collects the instalments of her clients and delivers
them to the post.
2 months back when she went to submit those installments the post officials won't accept it
since they were computerising all the records and had a server break down. Prior to this all
the records were to be manually written and verified by the agents.
Lakhs of money was stuck between the clients and the post and that was in the hands of
the agents. Of course no one wants to keep people's money. So to complain, my mom and
her colleagues went to the Regional Post Office and complained to the higher authority.
Next morning 8 AM when my mom again went to the local post office (thinking it would
again waste her entire day) she was quite amused. The post master of the RPO was in
there at the local post office. He was slamming the authorities for not accepting the money
from the agents.
The first thing he made them to do was to take the money from the agents and keep it at a

Well in my view question should be "Why India didn't show it's potential in 50 years of rule
under congress??" Ask yourself did our country is developing now?? If answer is yes then

There are so much things that BJP had done under N.Modi that are unaccountable. See
our railways developing, our infrastructure developing, projects such as Make in India

First of all every one should understand that growth and development are not a one day or
hundred days ( which UPA promise) work. Long lasting development takes time.
Now coming to the answer
Insurance scheme: its definitely going to help poor plus huge amount of money is
made available to government for development works. Ask Question
LPG subsidy: it directly goes into the account of lpg subscriber. So directly eliminated
the root cause of corruption. Now many say that this was UPA gov's idea but they
couldn't implement it. Modi did so credit goes to him.
Make in India: this concept is seriously taken up by many MNC. One will get to see
the results of this very soon. I can say this as I work in MNC n have many OEM
clients.
Swach Bharat: making India clean is not a government's job. Still he has taken it. It's
a responsibility of a citizen.
FDI: cap of FDI is increased in many sectors and many companies are coming
forward to invest. Which will bring the new technology into India.
Job creation: make in India and increasing cap of FDI will automatically boost the job
creation. But this is not going to happen all of a sudden. It will take time.
Abroad visits: Huge amount of money is promised by the no of companies which will
boost our infra structure and economy. Also due to these visits a positive vibe for India
is created in other countries and helped in improving foreign relations.
It's up to us how one wants to see the things.
Dal onion prices were as high as they are now. But we Indians have very short
memory.
No corruption is not an aachievement. OK. But its better than highly corrupt

I don’t know whether this answer qualifies for this question or not because the question
basically asks about the changes that have impacted the governance system in India.
But I definitely want to share what I came across a few days back.
It was year 2011. My elder cousin got married.
Fast forward 1.5 years.
It was September 2012. My sisterinlaw gave birth to a beautiful princess. Everyone was
happy except my cousin.
His mother asked him the reason of unhappiness.
I heard him saying
“ beti ho gayi.” beta chaiye tha.
( Mom, it’s a girl. I wanted a boy.)
Now, it’s 2016. My sisterinlaw gave birth to her second princess a few days back.
This time i was expecting a same response from him. I knew he will be disappointed. So, i
went straight to him and jokingly said
Koi nai bhai next baar ladka hoga.
( Don’t worry brother, next time it will be a boy)
He said Bhai ladka q chaiye . Ye ladkiya kam hai kya ladko se. waise v modiji ne kaha
hai “ beti bachao, beti padhao”. uske bd dekho ye ladkiyan kya jaadu krti hai.
( Brother, why do i need a boy. These girls are no less than boys. Infact, modiji has said
save daughters and teach them. And then see what miracles they do in your and everyone’s
life.)
I don’t want to comment on what Modi goverment is doing. But one thing is for sure that
they have succeeded in changing the perception of people, if not a lot of but definitely a

not get my adhaar card even afetr 4 years. Then i wrote on http://pmo.gov.in and the
complaint was raised on Friday and on Monday I received my E Copy of my Adhaar Card.
Thanks to PM Modi. He is really doing a great job.

What an average public expects simple things, which they can see easily. And. that our
PM is doing for us.
One day I was in trouble and I dialled 100. I got a quick response within 5 minutes. That’s
the Modi wave. How he administered several departments is simply great. Until and unless
Mr. Modi is here, I want to see him as our PM.
But at the same time some people feels that Mr. Modi didn’t need to do that or something.

First itself i want to clear that I am neither a PM Modi bakht nor a PM Modi hater,just a
pragmatic individual..I am reading so many answers related to this question so thought of
writing about it..Here are my views about it.
1. PM Modi is not one "Messiah" who can change the fate of all the 1.3 billion people of
this country at once..it is we as individuals who have to change ourselves first..There is
a quote by Gandhiji " Be the change you want to see in this world " ..I think
this quote is very apt in the present context..An example for this is the Smart city
mission ..its a very good mission by the government but for it to work first we need to
have smart citizens who know how to use it and improve it..
2. No doubt under the present government there is greater transparency and also much
better utilisation of egovernance..For example take the case of twitter seva through
which you can directly address your grievances with the minister herself and there is
timely response from the respective ministry as well..
3. But still more needs to be done..the reason why I am saying this is that in a democracy
people are king and their expectations should be met by their elected representatives
..so have high expectations from the government and try to ask for much better
services..

because people never expected from him a change which now we expect from modi ji..

I am feeling ushered while writing this answer, i was travelling by public transport in Delhi
and saw 2 young boys (18–20 year olds) sitting right next to me and drinking flavoured
milk in a glass, i kept a close eye at them and assumed that they would be throwing the
glasses out of the bus as soon as they finish it, to my surprise, both those boys hold up to
their glasses and didn’t throw them carelessly (like most of us do) and before they
deboarded the bus, i spoke with them and appreciated them for showing concern towards
the cleanliness.
Though this is a small incident that i can relate to but i can say that India is for sure
changing, it may not be changing at express pace but we are moving in the right direction.
