Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups plain yogurt
1 Tbsp. brown sugar
7 cups water
1 cup urad dal

Method:
1. Mix yogurt, sugar and 1 cup of water. ______
2. Clean, wash and drain dal. BUY HERE

3. In a heavy sauce pan, crock pot, bring rest of the water to a boil. Farberware
4. Add uraddal and cook uncovered for 10 minutes. Programmable

6. Add bay leaves, salt, cover the pot and cook on medium heat for 20
minutes.
7. Remove bay leaves and mix dal in a blender.
8. Pour back into crock pot / sauce pan.
9. For seasoning, heat ghee/oil in a small sauce pan, add crushed red chillies,
fennel seeds and grated ginger.
10. Stir fry for 10 seconds and mix with yogurt. Maxim NT5
11. Add the yogurt, seasoning mixture, to dal and simmer for 5 minutes before Programmable

4. For the seasoning take a small pan and heat the oil or ghee. Add cumin
seeds, dry red chilies and grated ginger. Fry till cumin and chilies turn brown.
Add hing and stir fry for few seconds and add this mixture to the cooked daal.
5. Garnish with cilantro
