handheld radio on January 9, 2016 to Tuguegarao City Police Station for police
checkpoints that were set up nationwide as the Commission on Elections (COMELEC)
gun ban, which signals the start of the election period for the 2016 Local and National
Elections started at 12:01 AM Sunday, January 10, 2016. See attached pictorials taken

PNP checkpoint will abide by the guidelines issued

by the COMELEC to ensure the effective
implementation of the gun ban which will remain in
effect for the whole duration of the election.
