3 KINDS OF PRAYER.

What is prayer? Before I can answer by the Spirit of God what prayer is let me
answer what it is not…
What Prayer is not?
Prayer is not complaining to God. It is not manipulating God, Prayer is not
begging, Prayer does not cause God to do things. For example you cannot pray
that Person A should die so that you may have his wife or family, God will not
answer that prayer. This should be an unremarkable statement; if God is God,
how can we force God to do something? Whatever prayer may be, it should be
obvious that we are not able to force God to act in certain ways. If we could, it
would mean we are God, and that God is not God. Prayer works ONLY when it is in
line with the will of God
Prayer in our generation today has seemed to be about asking. Instead of
believing six impossible things in our life, it has seemed that we were supposed to
ask for six impossible things in our life! PRAYER IS MORE ABOUT FAITH THAN
ASKING! PETITIONING AND ASKING PRAYERS IS NOT WRONG BUT WE ARE
PRAYING AMISS. Look at Romans 8:26 NKJV Likewise the Spirit also helps in our
weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the
Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
And also in James 4:3 KJV Ye ask, and receive not (receive - lambano meaning
you don’t take a hold, take possession of what you are asking), because ye ask
amiss,(amiss means miserably) that ye may consume (consumes means to
waste) it upon your lusts.
James 4:3 AMP [Or] you do ask [God for them] and yet fail to receive, because
you ask with wrong purpose and evil, selfish motives. Your intention is [when
you get what you desire] to spend it in sensual pleasures. Yet the Bible says all
things are yours. 1Corinthians 3:21 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all
things are yours; WHAT IS WRONG? The bible says in Hosea 4:6 KJV My people
are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, SO
WHAT IS PRAYER - PRAYER IS COMMUNICATING THE WILL OF GOD TO GOD
THROUGH AND BY HIS WORD.
What is a better way to pray?
The Prayers of Apostle Paul are some of the most powerful prayers you should
pray each and every day over your life, this prayers are spirit breathed and life
transforming. The Bible says 2 Timothy 3:16 KJV All scripture is given by
inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly
furnished unto all good works. In other Words the prayers are from the Heart of
the Holy Ghost and full of results. I pray you get a new dimension in your spirit
even as we look at this prayers….
Prayer One.
Colossians 1:9 KJV For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not
cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge
of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;10 That ye might walk
worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and
increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 Strengthened with all might, according
to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; 12 ¶
Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the
inheritance of the saints in light:
Col 1:9-12 AMP For this reason we also, from the day we heard of it, have not
ceased to pray and make [special] request for you, [asking] that you may be
filled with the full (deep and clear) knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom
[in comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God] and in
understanding and discernment of spiritual things — 10 That you may walk (live
and conduct yourselves) in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him
and desiring to please Him in all things, bearing fruit in every good work and
steadily growing and increasing in and by the knowledge of God [with fuller,
deeper, and clearer insight, acquaintance, and recognition]. 11 [We pray] that
you may be invigorated and strengthened with all power according to the might
of His glory, [to exercise] every kind of endurance and patience (perseverance
and forbearance) with joy, 12 Giving thanks to the Father, Who has qualified
and made us fit to share the portion which is the inheritance of the saints (God's
holy people) in the Light.
Let us break this scripture so that we may understand.
1. That you may be filled with the knowledge – the full and exact knowledge,
discernment, recognition(Epignosis) of his will, {will here is thelema-greek
meaning choice, purpose, decree, purpose, desire, pleasure}
2. That you may be filled with all spiritual wisdom – {Sophia – The God kind
of wisdom, insight into the true nature of things.} wisdom above the human
wisdom, supernatural wisdom that is not of this world, Ponder This… 1
Corinthians 2:6 KJV Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are
perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world,
that come to nought:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery,
even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our
glory: Apostle Paul continues to say… in verse 13 Which things also we
speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the
Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the
natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are
foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are
spiritually discerned.
3. That you may be filled with all Spiritual Understanding. – {Sunesis
intelligence, spiritual intelligence, mental intelligence, intellect, to put
together, to comprehend, to be wise, to be prudent, to see ahead}
4. That you may walk worthy of the LORD, {walk means to be occupied and
worthy means you may become like the LORD – a Oneness}
5. That you may become fruitful, {meaning fertile} in all Good works.
6. That you may increase {grow up} in knowledge - the full and knowledge,
full discernment, become fully acquainted with, perceive}
7. That you be strengthened {enabled}with might – might meaning, Dunamis
-inherent ability, capability, ability to perform anything, power to work, to
carry out something into effect, power in action to carry out mighty works,
wonder working power. Powered for results. MEANING YOU DO NOT NEED
THINGS IN HEAVEN, THE TRINITY IS IN YOU HEAVEN IS IN YOU.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 NKJV He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also
He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the
work that God does from beginning to end. MAN IS ALREADY ETERNAL!
Ecclesiastes 3:11 AMP He has made everything beautiful in its time. He
also has planted eternity in men's hearts and minds [a divinely implanted
sense of a purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun
 but God alone can satisfy], yet so that men cannot find out what God has
done from the beginning to the end. AMP
Prayer Two.
Ephesians 3:14 KJV For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ, 15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16
That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened
with might by his Spirit in the inner man; 17 That Christ may dwell in your
hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to
comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and
height; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye
might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Ephesians 3:14-19 AMP 14 For this reason [seeing the greatness of this plan by
which you are built together in Christ], I bow my knees before the Father of our
Lord Jesus Christ, 15 For Whom every family in heaven and on earth is named
[that Father from Whom all fatherhood takes its title and derives its name]. 16
May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and
reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself
indwelling your innermost being and personality]. 17 May Christ through your
faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your
hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love, 18 That
you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the
saints [God's devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth
and length and height and depth [of it]; 19 [That you may really come] to know
[practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far
surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled
[through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest
measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded
with God Himself]!
Let us do a microscopic study of the scripture.
1. That you be strengthened with might – to be strong, empowered, vigor, by
the Holy Ghost in your spirit man, that you live a spirit filled life, Paul says
this in Ephesians 6: 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in
 the power of his might. The Amplified says Eph 6:10 In conclusion, be
strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw
your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might
provides].
2. That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith. Because of the Oneness, the
fellowship {Koinonia} with the Holy Ghost, the Person of Jesus becomes real
to you. Colossian 1:27 KJV To whom God would make known what is the
riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in
you, the hope of glory:
3. That you be rooted and grounded in love – rooted there means to be
stable while grounded means to have a foundation, settle in the Love of
God. To be deeply fixed and established. God is love when he says he love
you he talks of himself a oneness, him dwelling in us and us in him. 1John
4:13 KJV Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he
hath given us of his Spirit. Romans 5:5 KJV And hope maketh not
ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the
Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
4. That you may be able to comprehend…- comprehend means, to
katalambano, to take eagerly, posses, attain, find, obtain. What is the
breadth of the love of Christ-Embracing all mankind. What is the length
length- his love is From everlasting to everlasting. And depth-Not to be
fathomed by any creature. And height-Not to be reached by any enemy.
5. That you may be filled with the fullness of God. Colossians 2:9 KJV For in
him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. THAT IS WHY YOU ARE
NOT AN ORDINARY PERSON. Look at this scripture… Ephesians 4:13 KJV Till
we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of
God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness
of Christ The Amplified puts it this way…Eph 4:13 AMP [That it might
develop] until we all attain oneness in the faith and in the comprehension
of the [full and accurate] knowledge of the Son of God, that [we might
arrive] at really mature manhood (the completeness of personality which
is nothing less than the standard height of Christ's own perfection), the
measure of the stature of the fullness of the Christ and the completeness
found in Him.
Prayer Three.
Ephesians 1:15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus,
and love unto all the saints, 16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making
mention of you in my prayers; 17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the
Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the
knowledge of him: 18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that
ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of
his inheritance in the saints,19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his
power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
Eph 1:15-19 AMP - 15 For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the
Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints (the people of God), 16 I do not
cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers. 17 [For I
always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He
may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and
secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him, 18 By having the eyes of
your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to
which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints
(His set-apart ones), 19 And [so that you can know and understand] what is the
immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for
us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength,
1. That you may have a spirit of wisdom and revelation. The God kind of
wisdom to have mental prowess as we saw earlier- Revelation here is
insight into mysteries and secrets, insight into realities to come to light, to
appear, to be unveiled, to come to light, to manifest as you know HIM. A
depth so deeper than your natural senses, an intimacy so deeper than you
natural senses a full and exact discernment.
2. That the eyes of your understanding be enlightened. Eyes means vision,
your spirit man be flooded with light, you become aware, you come to see,
be illuminated, no longer in the dark.
3. That you may know the hope of his calling. Hope means faith of his calling
in other words that you may be aware why we called you and who you are
in this world, why you are the chosen generation, His highly treasured
possession.
4. That you may be aware of the glorious riches and inheritance in you. The
bible says in 2Corinthians 4:7 KJV But we have this treasure in earthen
vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
The Amplified says… 2 Corinthians 4:7 However, we possess this precious
treasure [the divine Light of the Gospel] in [frail, human] vessels of earth,
that the grandeur and exceeding greatness of the power may be shown to
be from God and not from ourselves. The NLT puts it this way… 2
Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in clay jars, so that the
extraordinary power belongs to God and does not come from us.
5. The greatness of His Power towards us. That we may know the life giving
power that dwells in us, power against sin, sickness, diseases, poverty,
insufficiency, lack, disappointments, redundant growth, unfruitfulness,
failure, the power of the Holy Ghost Romans 8:10 ¶ And if Christ be in
you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of
righteousness.11 But if the Spirit of him that raised (waken rouse from
sleep, obscurity or inactivity)up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that
raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken (vitalize, give life, make
alive)your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Romans 8:11
AMP And if the Spirit of Him Who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in
you, [then] He Who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also restore
to life your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies through His Spirit Who
dwells in you. YOU CANNOT HAVE THE HOLY GHOST AND REMAIN THE
SAME!
