Collective Bargaining
The process whereby representatives of
management and workers negotiate a labor
agreement covering wages, hours, and
other terms & conditions of employment.
Process of Collective Bargaining
1. Draft / prepare the proposal to be presented
2. Assess the factors carefully
3. Present the proposal to the management/company along with the “notice” to
negotiate
4. Management answers the “notice” and agrees to meet the and discuss the proposal
5. The parties formulate an agreement that summarizes all the issues that both of the
team accepts and those that the choose to reject.

ISSUES
PERMISSIVE ISSUES
- Those that are not mandatory but relate to certain jobs.

ILLEGAL ISSUES
- Would require either party to take an illegal action. (unenforceable)
