AGRI-BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
One-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate | Simcoe
Designed to propel you to a supervisory level in the agricultural
sector, this program will prepare you to manage an existing
organization or run your own business. Students will graduate
with a competitive edge – understanding business fundamentals
like sales/marketing, human resources and finance with industry
specific training in food safety and traceability, safe handling and
application of pesticides, precision technologies such as GPS and
drone applications. With a six-week field placement and eight-
months of both lectures and hands-on learning, graduates will be
well prepared to start their career in a wide variety of businesses
including small intensive farms, large farming operations, food
processing and distribution, boutique enterprises marketing their
own products and agriculture supply firms.
HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT

This program provides functional knowledge in core human
resource (HR) areas. These include recruitment and selection,
training and development, HR planning and management,
occupational health and safety, organizational behaviour, finance
and accounting, compensation and benefits and labour relations.
The program also offers courses in HR information systems
(HRIS), Canadian employment law, management of strategic
HR projects and professional communications. Students have
the opportunity to complete all nine Certified Human Resources
Professional (CHRP) credits (more info at www.hrpa.ca). A unique
experiential learning opportunity is available to select students
through the HR Community Consultancy offered in the final

INSURANCE & RISK MANAGEMENT
One-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate | London
This program is designed for university and college graduates
looking for a career in the property and casualty insurance
industry. It will also allow students to earn credits towards the
Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation from the
Insurance Institute of Canada. Graduates will be prepared for
careers as brokers/agents, risk managers, underwriters, loss
adjusters or loss prevention inspectors.
INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

Students learn to investigate, analyze, manage and direct
most aspects of international trade. They work on live client
research projects to help small and medium-sized companies
capitalize on global trade opportunities. Faculty members have
practical hands-on experience in international trade, investment,
marketing, finance and business management. Graduates may
also pursue a FITT Diploma (Forum for International Trade
Training) and the Certified International Trade Professionals
(CITP) designation from FITT. The International Business
Management program incorporates the same FITT program
that is being offered by the Department of Foreign Affairs and
International Trade to Canadian Trade Commissioners.  Graduates

LOGISTICS & SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

Designed for university and college graduates seeking a career
in the supply chain sector, this program will focus on applied
knowledge in the field of supply chain management within a
global economy; encompassing the planning and management
of all activities involved in procurement and all logistics
management activities. Graduates will be eligible to pursue a
number of industry credentials and positions in all functions
of the supply chain including procurement, logistics, planning,
inventory management, transportation, customer service,
customs coordination and related supply chain processes.

MARKETING MANAGEMENT

This program is designed for students with credentials in
business or related fields who wish to broaden their skill-base
in all functional areas of marketing. Studies include new-media
marketing, event marketing, market research, direct marketing
and web design. Students also study search engine marketing
(SEM), search engine optimization (SEO) and Google analytics,
preparing them to pursue highly desirable Google designations.
Small classes and hands-on study of real-life local business issues
help students learn and apply practical skills, preparing them for
work in today’s dynamic business environments. Graduates are
well-positioned to pursue careers in sales, marketing, research,
advertising and promotion, event planning, direct marketing,
e-commerce, database marketing, brand management, public

OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT
One-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate | London
Designed for university and college graduates looking for a
career in the operations management sector, this program will
develop specialized business operations skill set within a global
economy. It will include the planning and management of all
operations involved in businesses of varying size and complexity,
from supply chain elements to quality assurance and purchasing
to project planning. Students will learn to use information and
manufacturing technology, as well as the importance of human
relations and interpersonal skills. Graduates may continue
for an additional semester in our Logistics and Supply Chain
Management graduate program (to obtain two credentials in
1.5 years) or start their career in the manufacturing, health care,
education, service, retail and construction sectors as a production
scheduler or managers of warehouse operations, materials,
operations, facilities, logistics or purchasing.
PROFESSIONAL FINANCIAL SERVICES
One-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate | London
This program is designed for students interested in careers as
professional financial planners. Curriculum focuses on personal
financial management, tax and retirement planning, insurance,
investment and estate planning, as well as essential interpersonal
and communications skills. Students will also explore the world
of financing and investment through “mock” stock-market
competitions. Graduates will be well-prepared to seek the
CFP® (Certified Financial Planner®) designation awarded by the
Financial Planning Standards Council, and to write the Canadian
Securities Course® and Life Licensing Qualification Program
exams as prerequisites to securities and life-insurance licensing
qualifications. Graduates may then pursue careers in banking,
investment, insurance, credit and financial-planning settings
across the country.

Students gain the in-depth knowledge, competencies, skills,
tools and techniques required to plan and execute major projects
that achieve organizational goals on time and on budget. The
Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Body
of Knowledge is an integral part of the program curriculum.
The curriculum also addresses emerging trends in project
management through courses in agile project management,
project recovery and project leadership. Graduates will find
employment in large and small organizations, in the public
and private sectors and in a variety of fields (e.g., information
technology, construction, transportation, education, healthcare and

PUBLIC RELATIONS –
CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS

This program is best-suited to outgoing students with above-
average writing skills. This program prepares college and
university graduates to work in corporate communications and
public relations. Students hone writing and presentation skills and
learn publishing and web-design techniques. They also develop
expertise in handling public relations, communications and ethics
issues faced regularly by business, government and not-for-profit
organizations. A second-term field placement provides hands-on
experience as well as valuable industry contacts. Graduates
find work in advertising and PR agencies, hospitals and health-
care institutions, banks, insurance agencies, arts and media
organizations, small and large manufacturers, governments and
non-profit agencies.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
GAME DEVELOPMENT -
ADVANCED PROGRAMMING

Designed for students with credentials in programming or
computer science, this program provides students with the
skills and knowledge needed to enter the rapidly growing
entertainment, education and simulation software-development
industries. Students gain in-depth knowledge of the programmer’s
role on a technical project team and develop skills in graphic
effects, animation systems, artificial intelligence, physical
modelling, sound and scripting systems. Students also learn how
to create, configure and integrate custom game components,
and study game models, simulation, performance and
configuration of both single-player and multi-player games.
Graduates emerge with highly marketable and transferable skills,
as well as professional-quality portfolios of game fragments
and demonstrations. They are well-prepared for software-
development careers, both inside and outside the gaming
industry, as senior programmers, game programmers and
C++ programmers.
INFORMATION SECURITY MANAGEMENT

This program prepares students for work in the growing field
of protecting and securing information in today’s business
world. Students are equipped with the skills needed to identify
vulnerabilities as well as design and implement safeguards.
Curriculum covers risk analysis, vulnerability testing, security-
policy writing, access-control implementation and IT auditing.
It also develops interpersonal, organizational, technical,
communication and problem-solving skills. Graduates are well-
prepared for careers as security analysts, chief security officers,
information security auditors and threat-risk/vulnerability security
specialists. This program is delivered in a face-to face classroom
setting or as an online program.
NETWORK SECURITY ARCHITECTURE

This unique program will cover the key aspects of enterprise
network design and the systems and protocols required for
secure access to the network. Students will learn advanced
networking and security concepts, including the following:
four areas of study covered under Cisco’s CCNP-Security and
network design for Microsoft and Linux system, advance network
design, access controls and authentication systems. There is an
identified shortage for graduates with this high-level skill set.
Graduates are well positioned to pursue careers as a Security
Analyst, Security Systems Analyst, Security Architect and Security
Systems Engineer.
SOFTWARE & INFORMATION
SYSTEMS TESTING
One-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate | London
Aimed at providing a better understanding of the testing
paradigms and methodologies associated with information
technology and software development, students will emerge
from this program with a solid understanding of software and
hardware, how to ensure quality control and how to use project
management approaches and business analysis techniques. An
excellent complement to business or information technology
college and university graduates, this program will provide an
in-demand skill set, teaching students how to write external
test scripts and the different methods used to figure out the
experience of the end-user, from bug testing to reporting,
graduating with practical experience in project management,
leadership and security testing. Graduates may choose to pursue
additional graduate programs in Project Management, Information

COSTUME PRODUCTION
45-week Ontario College Graduate Certificate |
Centre for Digital and Performance Arts (London)
This three-semester program will build upon students’ existing
fashion design or theatre skills and prepare them to enter the
world of costume development and creation for theatre. Students
learn both the technical and creative aspects of costuming for
theatre through components of classroom theory, studio training
and practical work placement. Advanced classroom studies in
theatre history, wardrobe planning and script analysis serve as
the foundation for the focused practical training in technical
costume cutting and construction. The program offers students
the unique opportunity to work in collaboration with industry
professionals within actual theatre wardrobe settings during
their field placement. This program is supported by affiliations
with The Stratford Festival, The Shaw Festival, the Banff Centre
of the Arts, The Grand Theatre London, The London Regional Art
Museum, International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees
(IATSE) and National Association of Broadcast Employees and
Technicians (NABET).
GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS (GIS)
One-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate | London
This program prepares students for employment in the rapidly
growing GIS/Geomatics industry. The curriculum is project-
based, software-intensive and interdisciplinary, building the
flexible skills required by this exciting industry. Curriculum focus
is on foundational GIS skills, including information systems,
programming basics, spatial data acquisition, remote sensing
and web GIS. Graduates work as GIS application specialists,
programmer analysts, analysts and researchers, and in related
occupations in the GIS software industry, government agencies,
and any private industry using geo-spatial technologies. This
program is offered as a face-to-face classroom format with an
optional online capacity.

3D ANIMATION & CHARACTER DESIGN

This program is designed for students with credentials in fine
art, media or design. This program teaches the skills needed
to create 3D animated characters and animated short films.
Coursework covers life drawing and storyboarding, 3D modeling
and animation, shaders, texture mapping and lighting, character
design, video editing, and audio effects. Students also explore
concept development, teamwork, strategic planning and project
management. Graduates are well-prepared to work as 3D
animators, character designers, effects artists, storyboard artists
and level designers for the film, video, animation and gaming
industries. They may also find work with companies creating
television commercials, industrial and commercial videos and
educational material.

This program is designed for students wishing to build on their
degree or diploma skills through hands-on work creating narrative
and documentary films and television productions. Students
explore all aspects of filmmaking including writing, filming,
directing, producing and editing, as well as project management
and marketing. Participants work with talented students from
other programs (television, theatre, fashion, multimedia, music
industry arts) to create original works. Graduates become
independent filmmakers, or find work as writers, media content
creators, directors, producers and project managers with film and
television companies across North America. Opportunities also
exist in marketing and distribution.
AUDIO POST-PRODUCTION

This program is designed for students wishing to specialize in
audio post-production work for the music, film, television, gaming
and digital arts industries. Students explore pre-production
and planning, production techniques, delivery and storage
formats, surround-sound production, ADR, foley, sound effects,
mixing, editing, mastering and restoration. Individual and group
projects provide opportunities to work with students from
related programs (television, music arts, theatre, etc.), as well
as hands-on experience in our state-of-the-art post-production
audio studio. Graduates emerge with professional-quality
portfolios, and find work in audio and video post-production,
location audio recording, game audio, independent production
houses, television and film, sound recording studios, web audio
design, industrial and corporate media and live audio production.
BROADCAST JOURNALISM -

This program prepares students for careers in television
news. Students develop hands-on skills in research, writing,

for careers in television news as journalists, videographers,
producers, editors, directors and writers.

This program provides arts, media and design graduates with
intensive training in new-media technologies, such as concept
and branding, marketing and design, coding, content creation and
web streaming. The curriculum combines coursework in design
and visual imaging, marketing and media management with
technology from Adobe, Discreet, and open source technologies
for Web application development and more. Graduates work
as designers, programmers, producers, art directors, technical
leads and project managers in audio visual departments in
education, healthcare, insurance, broadcasting. Some graduates
become entrepreneurs.

This program is designed to enhance the graduate’s ability to
succeed in the management of evolving and dynamic retirement
lifestyle facilities. Highlights include a focus on collaborative
leadership, networking with the industry, and comprehensive
perspective of an assisted living lifestyle property. Retirement
residence managers foster a team of professionals responsible for
the following departments: food service, wellness, recreational
activities, sales and marketing, and facilities and maintenance.
Before graduating to seek employment in the growing retirement
residence industry, students will complete two experiential
learning components in a retirement facility.

ARTISANAL CULINARY ARTS
One-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate | London
This program is for qualified students who wish to explore the
growing field of artisanal food preparation. Coursework highlights
sustainable agricultural models vs. industrialized food-production
systems, allowing students to develop a deep respect for food
and its origins. Graduates emerge with demonstrated competence
in traditional food preparation methods such as preserving,
artisanal baking and butchery. Students also acquire expertise in
using local/sustainable product to create advanced dishes, menus
and recipes. The program aims to create chefs who appreciate the
origins of food, are competent in executing traditional processing
methods, and understand how these variables affect finished
taste and quality. Graduates will be prepared to share their skills
and knowledge with a diverse clientele on both the national and
international culinary stage.
ADVANCED BAKER/PATISSIER
15-week Declaration of Academic Achievement | London |
Part-Time
Designed for culinary graduates with a passion for baking, this
program will teach you to master the art of creating danish and
croissant dough, yeast breads, choux paste, chocolates and
pralines, petit fours, French pastries and more. Plus, students
will master the finer points of weights and measures, recipe
calculations and terminology. Artistic passions are further honed
in decorating, developing your skills with gum paste and other
showpieces. Under the guidance of Chef Roland Hofner, students
will receive personal attention and critique. Part of a team,
students will share their dreams while learning the ins and outs
of owning their own business. Graduates will emerge from this
program as a Qualified Patissier.

HEALTH
SCIENCES
ANESTHESIA ASSISTANT
45-week Ontario College Graduate Certificate | London
This program is offered in a flexible delivery format. Students
attend class one day per week during the first two terms, with a
full-time clinical practicum in term three. Anesthesia Assistants are
specially trained, health professionals that participate in the care of
surgical patients during general, regional, or local anesthesia under
the immediate supervision of an anesthesiologist. Graduates are
well prepared for the high demand work in hospitals across Canada,
working primarily in the operating room but also in areas such as
post-operative care, labour and delivery, emergency and intensive
care. Note: This program is a minimum of 38 weeks; however, it
can also exceed 38 weeks in length.
EMERGENCY NURSING - REGISTERED NURSE
One-year Ontario Graduate Certificate | London | Part-Time
This program is designed for nurses who have recently graduated
or would like to gain employment in Emergency Nursing. This
program enhances the participant’s problem solving, decision
making abilities and technical skills in Emergency Nursing including
emergency departments, urgent care units or out posting settings.
Completion of the certificate academically prepares the nurse for
the CNA Emergency Nursing Certification Exam. Students must
complete a minimum of six credits in this program to meet the
program residency requirement and graduate.
HEALTH SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT
One-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate | London
Designed for university or college graduates seeking a career
in the field of Health Administration and e-health digital
transformation, this program will discuss fascinating global
advancements in the use of technology in electronic patient
records, automated voice transcription, digital imaging
concepts, ADT (admission-discharge-transfer) systems
messaging and workflow. Students will develop valuable skills
in protocol analysis using HL7 and Dicom, HIPPA/PIPEDA/
Security, billing, and similar technology. Upon graduation, this
training will increase your marketability with employers who are
looking for motivated graduates whom understand the current
systems used at health care facilities. The program is also
excellent preparation for those interested in pursuing additional
post-graduate study in Project Management or Information
Security Management at Fanshawe.
MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING
One-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate | London
This program is designed for practicing medical radiation
technologists wishing to expand their careers to include
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). The program format
combines face to face classes and lab activities one day per
week with online learning activities. Areas of study include
MRI Physics, Patient care and MRI safety in level one. Applied
Science of MRI, Cross-sectional Anatomy and Pathology in
level two. A full-time 16-week practicum at an affiliated site
will follow. Students are prepped to write the MRI national
certification exam set by the Canadian Association of

will build upon the knowledge and experience of practicing
Paramedics and prepare graduates to deliver an expanded set of

ADVANCED ERGONOMIC STUDIES

The first of its kind in Canada, this program will provide
students with a fundamental understanding about the science
of ergonomics. In labs, classes and field placements, students
will learn to use analytical tools to provide assessments of
an employee’s job related tasks in the workplace. Current
technologies and techniques will be examined in addition
to applying theoretical principles to worker and workspace
interactions. Students will also study the legislative and regulatory
environment, the role of the Workplace Safety and Insurance
Board and the financial impacts of injury. Upon completion of

Students broaden their knowledge base and skill set in law

Core competencies include physical fitness, use of defensive

This intensive program provides students with specialized
knowledge and advanced skills to prepare graduates to become
competent police recruit candidates. The curriculum focuses on the
practical application of community policing models, provincial and
federal statutes and crime scene investigative techniques. Students
will develop skills in oral and written communication, conflict
resolution, conducting criminal investigations, court preparation
and police vehicle operation. Physical fitness and officer safety will
be emphasized. Students will participate in a field placement with a

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

This program reflects the work emergency mangers must be able
to perform on a regular basis within the framework of appropriate
emergency management legislation. Students will be equipped
with the necessary skills to address key areas of emergency
management from disaster preparedness, coordination and
management of emergency events escalating through to
catastrophes, hazards, risk assessment, terrorism, mitigation/
prevention, preparedness, response and recovery. This program
is delivered in a blended in-class/online delivery format. It is
suitable for students who can commit one day per week in-class
and who are also self-motivated to complete the extensive online

This program is designed for students interested in a career as
a Licensed Paralegal in Ontario. The program will allow those
seeking licensing, in accordance with the Law Society Act and
under the Law Society of Upper Canada (LSUC), to become a
practicing paralegal as well as provide an opportunity for those
who wish to upgrade their skills and broaden their areas of
knowledge and expertise in authorized areas of practice. This
program is accredited by the LSUC and designed in accordance
with LSUC curriculum requirements and core competencies and

This program is for students with a background in Child and
Youth Work, Early Childhood Education, social or developmental
services or social science. The program develops advanced
knowledge of autism and effective techniques for intervention.
Coursework includes applied behaviour analysis, Autism
Spectrum Disorders, working with families and teams, ethics and
professionalism, non-violent crisis prevention and intervention,
and transition planning and implementation. Students also
complete two field placements, gaining hands-on experience
