EMPLOYABILITY RATE AMONG TERTIARY GRADUATES

INTRODUCTION

Education is a tool to eradicate poverty. This is one of the slogan promoted by

the different countries. The role of the school is to provide quality education. The
tertiary school come-up a better teaching strategies or approaches to help the
students graduates to utilize the skills. To determine the skills being attained is by
conducting a tracer’s study of their graduates. This can be used to used update of
what and where their graduates now.

The researchers undertake this study to extend the valuable information on

what specifics of the graduates may excel in and those they need to improve. This
showed the employment profile of the graduates and determine the skill that are most
and least helpful to the graduates. In addition, the study also sought to know that
factors that affect the graduates in choosing their job. Finally, the study provided
significant feedback from the graduates that can be used towards revising the
program’s curriculum and more responsive to the needs of the market.

A very important role in determining the quality of the education of the tertiary
school is the rate of the employability of their graduates. This guarantees the efficiency
and effectiveness of the school.

The review is aimed to the employability rate of the tertiary students about
what are the attributes from high employability rate.
REVIEW RELATED LITERATURE

A tracer study enables the tertiary school to get valuable data of information
on possible deficiencies in a programs which offered to the tertiary school. This serves
as strategies to assure that the institution provides and maintains quality and relevant
instruction among their students, thus employment mismatch is prohibited
(Schomberg, 2003).

Providing state of art facilities, quality instructional materials and improving

learning experiences and environment to the students will acquire standard
competencies to meet the challenges demand in the market (Colarte, 2007).

According to Schomberg (2003) the information of the tracer study of the

graduates and the employer survey helps to provide valuable information for
monitoring the result of the training and quality of education delivering by the tertiary
school. This the key were the vision, mission and goal of the school are achived.

Tracer study helps the tertiary school to examine the possible path of their
graduates. Some researchers cited also that the tracer study proved to be effective
method in getting accurate and easy input of the school to meet the demand of the
market (Nordin and Tinggi, 2006).

Gronlund(1981) stated that main purpose of the tracers study to determine to

the extent the instructional objectives are accomplished to the graduates. Sometimes
the achievement of the students were reflect the performance of the school and
achievement of the school.

Moreover, an evaluation of the employment rate of the graduate of the tertiary

school will be determine through their strengths and weaknesses of the program
offered by the tertiary school.
