Nel 2004 si sono festeggiati i primi 50 anni della Colnago.

Festeggiamenti caratterizzati da un completo cambiamento della gamma dei prodotti. Soprattutto

il nuovo C50, e la favolosa bicicletta Anniversary. Ma il rinnovamento non si ferma qui. Le novità 2005 sono frutto dei successi del 2004. Ecco perciò che
arriva un C50 ancora più leggero, grazie all’utilizzo di una nuova fibra di carbonio, ed un telaio che, pur inferiore al C50, ne ricalca prestazioni ed eleganza,
l’E-1. Per la prima volta, presento un telaio in carbonio di prezzo più basso rispetto al C50. Interamente fabbricato in Italia.
Carbonio e Made in Italy sono i miei punti fermi.
Da sempre emblema del Made in Italy, ho deciso di puntare sul carbonio dalla metà degli anni Ottanta, quando ancora questo materiale veniva ritenuto
un materiale esotico senza possibilità di utilizzo nelle biciclette da corsa. Ma, ancora una volta, ho anticipato i tempi.
La scommessa fatta vent’anni fa mi consente ora di essere leader indiscusso nei prodotti in carbonio di fascia alta. Una leadership conquistata grazie
alla qualità dei prodotti, alle finiture di prestigio, all’elevata sicurezza dei manufatti e alla collaborazione in atto da anni con la Ferrari, il Politecnico di
Milano, l’Istituto Scientifico Breda e la ATR S.p.A..
Ed è questo continuo perseguimento della qualità che mi convince sempre di più della bontà della scelta di mantenere la produzione in Italia. Perché
l’unico modo per poter controllare la produzione fino al minimo dettaglio, è di averla in casa. Io non concepisco l’idea di avere biciclette col mio marchio
prodotte a 10 mila chilometri da Cambiago. Anche se questo significa ridurre i costi. Anche se questo significa aumentare i volumi di vendita.
Perché Colnago significa qualità, non quantità.
Scelte, la qualità, il Made in Italy, il carbonio, di cui vado fiero.

In 2004, we’ve been celebrating the first 50 years of Colnago. We’ve celebrated by completely renewing our product line, above all with the new C50 and

Since always, my bicycles have been Made in Italy, and I decided to focus on carbon fibre in the mid-1980’s, when this material was seen as an exotic
way to make a racing bicycle. But, once again, I was ahead of my time.
The bet I made twenty years ago has paid off, and has allowed Colnago to be seen as the unchallenged leader in high-end carbon fibre bicycles. Our
leadership is thanks to the quality of our products, highest quality finishing, an elevated level of design and manufacturing thanks to years of collaboration
with Ferrari, the Milano Politecnico, Istituto Scientifico Breda and ATR S.p.A..
Our continuous pursuit of perfection has convinced me more than ever of the wisdom of maintaining the production of Colnago in Italy. Because the
only way to maintain the highest level of quality control is to have your products made in house. I just can’t understand the idea to have my bicycles
made 10,000 kilometers away from Cambiago. Even if this means we can lower the costs. Even if we can sell more.

Colnago rende omaggio al più grande genio mai vissuto, a colui che
più di cinque secoli orsono ha abbozzato per primo l’idea di bicicletta,
Leonardo da Vinci, con una bicicletta speciale a tiratura limitata: il
President LdV.

di derivazione aerospaziale, e all'utilizzo di una nuova fibra di carbonio,
si è raggiunto un risparmio di peso dell'ordine di circa 200 grammi. Inoltre
va segnalata la nuova preziosa finitura con carbonio ”Twill”, che dona
ancora più fascino a questo telaio di straordinaria eleganza.

Colnago pays homage to the greatest genius who ever lived, a man who
more than five centuries ago designed the first bicycle, Leonardo da Vinci
with a special limited edition bicycle: the President LdV.
The chassis of the President LdV is a further evolution of the chassis of
the Anniversary bicycle.
Now thanks to revolutionary new construction methods derived from
aerospace and the use of a new high-modulus carbon fiber, the President
weighs in at approximately 200 grams less than last years model. For
2005, President has an attractive new "Twill" carbon fibre that adds even
more elegance to this unique new Colnago.

Due sfere, che apparentemente non hanno nulla in comune e che
potranno solo viaggiare su binari paralleli. Due entità opposte, la
tecnologia e l’arte. Tanto la prima è razionalità tanto l’altra è passione,
estro, immaginazione. Poi subentra l’abilità umana, l’arte di plasmare e
formare funge da collante e da vita a sculture dove il confine tra tecnologia
e arte viene superato, annullato. Nasce così BrerArt l’ultima creazione
tecnologica di Ernesto Colnago firmata dall’estro di Renzi&Lucia, creatori
della prima “bicicletta d’arte”. Un oggetto unico, prodotto in serie limitata,
omaggio al luogo simbolo della creazione e del lancio di nuove idee: l’Accademia
di Belle Arti di Brera. Un oggetto che non passerà inosservato e che meriterà
di trovare spazio nelle piste ciclabili e nelle gallerie di tutto il mondo.

Two worlds, which don’t seem to have much in common and can only trave
on two separate tracks. Two opposite entities, Technology & Art. The first
is purely rational, the other is passion and imagination. But once the creativity
of human beings comes into play to meld these two diverse streams, the
barriers between art & technology disappear. That is how BreraArt, the latest
technological creation of Ernesto Colnago was born, in collaboration with
noted Italian artists Renzi & Lucia. A unique bicycle, made in highly limited
numbers, BreraArt pays homage to Milano’s famous Accademia di Belle Arti
di Brera. BreraArt will certainly be a unique two-wheeled work of art that
will be welcome in both the art galleries and on the bike paths around the
world.

Il C50 subisce nel 2005 un rinnovamento sostanziale: tubi e congiunzioni sono realizzati con un nuovo tipo di carbonio ad alto modulo, che abbina elevata rigidità a pesi inferiori. Su una misura media, il risparmio di peso è di circa 100
grammi. Ulteriori sviluppi sono presenti nelle congiunzioni, che, grazie alle elevate caratteristiche del nuovo materiale impiegato, sono ora più corte, e dunque leggere. Nuova è anche la finitura del carbonio. Viene utilizzata una fibra denominata
“Twill”, ad alto impatto estetico, così da rendere immediatamente riconoscibile il nuovo modello rispetto al precedente. Per valorizzare questa nuova finitura, e per far risaltare ancora meglio la qualità dei materiali impiegati, le nuove
colorazioni 2005 prevedono un’alta visibilità delle parti in carbonio. Per finire, viene ampliata l’offerta di misure, con l’inserimento di un 51 classico ed un 54 sloping. Con venti misure standard disponibili, e la possibilità di infinite personalizzazioni,
il C50 si conferma sempre più come un vero “telaio da sartoria”.
For 2005, the C50 had undergone a substantial upgrade, with the tubes and lugs made of a new type of high-modulus carbon fibre that provides more rigidity and lighter weight. In a medium size frame, the weight savings is around 100
grams. Further improvements have been made to the carbon fibre lugs, which thanks to the use of the new of high-modulus carbon fibre, are shorter and thus lighter but more rigid. This new generation of carbon fibre is made with a
“Twill” weave, which offers a way for the new C50 to be immediately distinguishable from previous models. We’ve designed the graphics to show more carbon fiber as well. Finally, there are new C50 sizes for 2005, with a 51 classic
and a 54 sloping. With 20 sizes available in C50, there is an incredible range of choices designed to fit almost any rider like a custom frame.

Eccellente telaio da competizione, questo modello sfrutta le collaudate forme del Dream realizzato con le leghe di alluminio Columbus per Colnago e i pregi del carbonio. Le caratteristiche principali stanno nella maggiorazione dei tubi del
triangolo anteriore. Lo sterzo è da 1” 1/8. Il tubo piantone stesso è superdimensionato, e prevede il montaggio di un deragliatore a fascetta. Carro posteriore in carbonio, con B-Stay e foderi HP.

A high-end competiton frame, Dream is a mix of special aluminium alloy tubing created by Columbus for Colnago, married to a responsive B-Stay carbon fibre rear triangle and HP chainstays. Tube diameters in the front triangle are larger,
with 1 1/8” headtube.

celebre B-Stay. Come i modelli di fascia superiore Colnago, l’Active è realizzato con tubo sterzo da 1” 1/8.

Il mito si rinnova. Il telaio simbolo di Colnago negli anni ’80 si rinnova in modo radicale. La nuova versione prevede il carro posteriore interamente in carbonio, con l’adozione del tipico B-Stay, abbinato alle tubazioni Columbus in acciaio,
trafilate e profilate a freddo. Restano le tipiche congiunzioni microfuse Master nello sterzo, con saldobrasatura fine. Il tubo orizzontale viene ora saldato al tubo sella con la tecnologia TIG, e ciò permette l’adozione dello speciale innesto per
il posteriore B-Stay in carbonio.
È stata studiata una nuova linea colore per questo modello esclusivo, ancora più impreziosito dalle congiunzioni dello sterzo cromate tipiche del Master interamente in acciaio.
La forcella è la Star Carbon da 1”.

The myth is renewed. Colnago has radically re-done the Master, the bicycle that was the symbol of the 1980’s for Colnago. The new version of the Master is updated with responsive B-Stay carbon fibre rear triangle and HP chainstays,
mated to the classic Master front triangle with it’s cold worked star profile tubing, joined with Colnago’s unique cast lugs. Once exception is that the Master’s top tube is joined to the seattube with Tig welding, which allows for the special
B-Stay sleeve. All new colors add to the rebirth of the Master, which will maintain those characteristic chromed head lugs. Master has a 1’ Star Carbon fork.
