The interval time between two successive greasing cycles can be adjusted using the step switch. One of ten intervals can be selected (15 min to 150 min in 15 min increments). If the ignition is switched off during the greasing cycle, that cycle will be ended. When the ignition is switched on again greasing will resume at the next set time.
b) Testing the timer
The various electronic timer positions can be tested as follows: (N.B. 356/357 have "power on" red led on timer box.)
Test 1, Step switch test
- Set the switch to position “test A”. - Activate the timer by switching on the ignition. - Press the Red “test” button. - Wait for the in-cab Red warning light to activate, then release the “test” button. - Within 2 seconds turn the step switch to the required time position. Each position produces a signal: position 1 (15 min) gives one flash, position 2 (30 min) gives two flashes, etc. - The switch can be set to all positions but note positions “test A” and “test B” will produce a flashing Red alarm signal. - N.B. "Test B" position is not used. - End the test by switching off the ignition.
Test 2, Single cycle
In order to check the system, a single lubrication cycle can be performed. - Switch the ignition onPress the Red “test” button on the electronic time, for at least 3 seconds, a normal greasing cycle will then follow. The switch can be set in any position except “test A” and “test B”. After this the timer will operate at the set interval. Test 3, Accelerated (multi) Cycle - Switch ignition on - Set the step switch to position test ‘A’ - Press and hold the ‘test’ button. - The Red warning light in the cab will now light up. The ‘test’ button must be pressed as long as the light is on. - Within 3 seconds of the Red light going off turn the step switch to the 15 minute cycle position. - The timer is now fully operational, the time intervals are now 1/20 of their usual times. The pressure gauge on the pump should indicate a minimum of 80 bar per cycle. - End the test by switching the ignition off.
Reset timer to normal factory setting - 75 mins or a setting to suit
end user operating conditions.
3) To bleed system
a) Remove distribution block blanking plugs.
b) Switch ignition on. c) Press and hold the Red test button for at least 5 seconds. This will activate one full 5 minute greasing cycle. d) Repeating above procedure (b and c) until grease appears with no air bubbles. e) Replace distribution block blanking plugs. f) Check pump pressure gauge shows 100 bar (+/-10 bar). g) Reset timer to appropriate intervals.
