OBJECTIVES

The main objectives considered in the study are:

The aim of the project is to forecast the future trip generation (production
and attraction) for the city of Vellore.

We will use the regression models developed for comprehensive transport
planning provided in the report of Vellore Municipal Corporation.

Using these models, we will forecast the zone wise trip productions and
attractions of the base year and the future target years.

Finally, we will have an idea about the travel demand for the entire city,
which may help to determine whether developmental schemes are required
to improve the transportation system of the city.
REGRESSION MODELS:

These regression models have been developed for the base year 2009
Previous studies and results:

• UNICEF did a research in 2013 and following were the

results:
1) 90% of the teenagers are daily watching TV and that 50%
spend more than 3 hours doing this activity, time that
otherwise could be used for socializing or doing other
activities with a more instructive profile.
2) 88% of the teenagers use the internet, on average, for
3.37 hours per day, mainly for social networks.
3) Over 50% of the youth that use social networks, do this
for being in contact with their friends and just 1% use the
social media for finding more about the risks they are
facing if they consume alcohol and drugs.
4) For the youth, the information found on social networks
have a low reliability degree, the data resulted from the
survey indicating a very low level of trust in such
networks.
5) This difference of opinions represents actually the
starting point of our study.

RESEARCH PAPER ANALYSIS

Positive and Negative Influences of the Mass Media upon
Education
By- Oroles Florescu

Abstract:

The explosive changes at the global level from the last

century, either of an economic nature or at the
information level have created the proper field for mass-
media to develop, the emergence of internet and
implicitly the massive changes at the level of the society
or the individual. The involvements of the individuals in
the modifications that take place imply a change in the
traditional education and the shift to a permanent
education which can integrate the formal, informal and
non-formal education.
