Description

Celestial Tech is a fully integrated marine technical solution provider of high performance vessels
like high speed boat, survey boat, tug, firefighting boat, rescue boat, patrol ship, research vessels,
workboats and other specialized boats/ships. The company is Bangladesh’s industry leader in
selling design and complete propulsion and equipment package for boats and ships. We also
supply various marine propulsion machinery, outboard engines, navigation and communication
equipment, underwater systems, diving and ship’s safety equipment, land and marine survey
equipment, industrial and marine generators, etc. Our customers include Bangladesh Coast
Guard, Bangladesh Navy, Chittagong Port Authority, Mongla Port Authority, Paira Port Authority,
Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority, and all the shipyards in Bangladesh.

Philosophy

Celestial Tech’s philosophy is to buy products from the manufacturer of highest standards of the
marine industry and develop a procedure to provide custom solutions to owners and ship builders.
Our core competency is the ability to source an array of equipment, components, assemblies and
sub-assemblies and integrated them to make a complete system for the specific customer’s
application. We collaborate with vessel owners and operators to understand their performance
requirements and develop solutions that will allow them to successfully complete the project.

History

The idea of forming Celestial Tech came from the responsibility of serving the Maritime Industry
of the country by an Ex Naval Officer. He wanted to create an institution which will provide
engineering solutions (consulting, procurement, commissioning and after sales services) to the
maritime organizations of the country including Navy and Coast Guard instead of selling just a
piece of equipment or machinery. The primary focus of business was in the Navy and Coast
Guard which has now spread to almost all government and private organization. Mr. Shahin and
his wife Tasnuva discussed the idea and became partners in business as well. The company was
formed in December 2001 in a small office in Mirpur, while he was still busy managing the
family owned textile factory as a Director and at the same time working to give Celestial Tech a
shape that it has at the present. And the operation started by mid of 2002.

Today with 29 employees it has a track record of success and growth. It has been meeting the

Timeline

2001: Celestial Tech was formed.

2003: First contract signed with Bangladesh Navy.

2003-2004: The Company had a total turnover of BDT 35,013,294.78 selling miscellaneous
products to Defense Forces. That includes ropes and measuring instruments.

2004-2005: The Company enters the marine electronics business and sign a contract with
Bangladesh Navy to retrofit 10 (Ten) Navy ships with Furuno FE 700 Echo sounders.

2006-2007: The Company shows a upward moving trend and was warded with contracts worth
business of BDT 59,507,044.00. Celestial Tech wins the contract to retrofit 14 (Fourteen) Navy
ships with Furuno Navigation Radar model FAR 2117.

2007-2008: And it breaks the previous record in terms of revenues, which was BDT
212,869,111.00. Celestial Tech sales the first complete propulsion package to Khulna Shipyard.
And 08 High Speed 14m FRP Boats to Bangladesh Coast Guard.

2009-2010: The Company signs a contract with BIWTA (Bangladesh Inland water Transport
Authority) to supply, install, commission 02(Two) Multi-beam Echo Sounders EM3002D on
board two survey boats. And establishes itself as a leader in the subsea market of Bangladesh.

2010-2011: The Company becomes a leading Boat Selling company in Bangladesh and reaches a
turnover of BDT 311,392,310.00. Celestial Tech sales the complete 20m-aluminium boat material
package to Dockyard and Engineering Works to be built for Bangladesh Coast Guard.

2011-2012: Yet another success story. Celestial Tech signs a contract with the Dockyard and
Engineering works to supply the complete material package of a 15m Steel Hull Hydrographic
survey boat for Chittagong Port at a cost of USD 1.5 Million.

2012~2013: Celestial Tech sales 04 Inertial Navigation system Sigma 40 from Safran Electronics
and Defense company of France for the two new built Corvettes of Bangladesh Navy to be built
in China at a cost of Euro 1.2 Million. And the starting air compressors from Sauer Germany for
the same ship.

2013~2014: Celestial Tech focuses in the commercial market, and sets up a sales office a display
center and a state of the art service center both for marine electronics and propulsion in
Chittagong Bangladesh. The service center is due to be opened from July 2016.

2014-2015: Celestial Tech wins a contract to deliver two 15m Catamaran GRP Boats to Marine
Academy for a contract of USD 1 million. The boats will be built in Vietnam.

2015-2016: Celestial Tech sales 04 Inertial Navigation system Sigma 40 from Safran Electronics
and Defense of France for the two new built corvettes of France. Signs a contract to deliver a
most modern RHIB boat from Brunswick Corporation of USA to the Marine Fisheries Academy
of Bangladesh.

July 2016: A contract with Three Angle Marine Ltd to supply navigation, communication and
under water survey equipment's for 15 workboats of BIWTA of USD 1.75 million.

August 2016 : A contract with FMC shipyard Ltd to supply propulsion Engine, generators,
navigation and communication equipment and underwater survey equipment's for two ships of
BIWTA & BIWTC for USD 1.5 million.

September 2016 : A contract with Alliance Fishing Ltd to supply a Hull sonar and a net sonar of
USD 3,61,000.00

October 2016: Celestial Tech becomes Volvo Penta dealer for Bangladesh.

March 2017: Celestial Tech supplied a high-speed boat of BDT 2,02,99,999.00 to Marine
Fisheries Academy.

May 2017: Celestial tech signed a contract with Three Angle Marine Shipyard to sale 18 units of
Volvo Penta Marine Diesel Engine with ZF Gearbox for a value of USD 9,73,000.00

June 2017: A contract to sale complete material package to build a 29m Survey Vessel was
signed between DEW Ltd and Multibeam Corporation for value of USD 18,95,000.00

July 2017: A contract to sale 32 units D6-435 Marine Engine from Volvo Penta with ZF Gearbox
was signed between Dockyard and Engineer Works Ltd. and Multibeam Corporation of USA for
a value of USD 12,31,845.00. Multibeam Corporation is the principal of Celestial Tech in USA.

We seek principles that undertake CSR and environmental conservation initiatives as partners.

Our goal is to help the coastal shipping community of Bangladesh to understand safety of life at
sea. And in order to do so we have started training the artisanal fishermen on basic navigation and
communication using a GPS, Echo sounder, VHF and HF Radio in our service and training center
in Chittagong.

We have been able to sale our first sets of GPS and Echo sounders and HF radio to a group of
Fishermen in the community of Kutubdia. We undertake that 60% of the profit we make from
such sales will be contributed for improving the livelihood of the very community.

Celestial Tech regularly arranges workshops for the fishing boat community to improve the safety
of the boat by introducing navigation and communication equipment.
