Time Motivation and Introduction:
9:45am  Bring students onto the front mat and explain that we will be doing a
little assessment to see how much we have learnt on number
patterns, number sentences and word problems!

 I will quickly ask students what a number sequence, number


sentence and word problem is to refresh their memories.

Lesson Steps (Lesson content, structure, strategies & Key Questions):

 Instruct students that they are not to talk while they complete the test
and if they need help reading the question to put their hand up.
22 copies of the
 Once they have finished they can sit quietly and I will collect their assessment
work. Then they can go onto Mathletics/study ladder while they wait
for everyone else to finish.

 Make sure to read the questions to Keelie, Millie, Rebecca and


possibly Shiloh. I will also need to scribe Ellie’s test answers so if
Rose is around I will ask her to do that with Ellie outside.

Lesson Closure:(Review lesson objectives with students)


 Collect and mark the students assessments.

 If we finish early I will read students the book I got them, or else send
them off for recess.

I have put a rubric at the bottom of each page of the assessment to fill in
based on students answers, I will then fill that information into my student
checklist on my plan.
