FlowSelexTM Portal

Introduction
• FlowSelexTM Portal, is a browser based interactive pump selection
program for customers
• A web-based tool that delivers immediate, real-time access to the
latest, most accurate data (no updates required)
• Users can select a pump for a new application or select a specific
pump size from a pump list
• Users can also save projects and selections for future reference
and generate technical documents
Technical Requirements
• The FlowSelex Application requires the following technical
requirements and configurations:

Supported Browsers: IE7, IE8, Mozilla Firefox 3.5 & 3.6


Adobe Acrobat Reader: 9.3 or higher
Java: Version 6 (may be shown as version1.6)
Registration Process
• Go to: http://www.flowserve.com/flowselex
• Click on “Log in to FlowSelexTM” at the top of the page
• Alternatively go directly to the login screen:
http://www.flowserve.com/portal/site/fls/template.LOGIN/

• Click “Register Now!”


Registration Information
• Fill in the Registration information
• Mandatory information is
indicated by an asterisk (*)
• Select the “Pumps” check box in
“Product Group Interests”
• Select the “Request Advanced
Access to FlowSelex™” check
box if you want access to the
more engineered products (CVP,
DVSH, DMX, HDX, HED, LPN,
UZDL, VM(b), WX, WXH)
• Agree to the T&C
• Click on “Register”

Logging In to FlowSelex
• Your username is your email
address
• Enter your password
• Click “Log In”

• You are now on the “My


Flowserve” page
• Click on “Go To FlowSelex”
• The program then opens on the
“Start” page

Help
Additional help can be accessed throughout FlowSelex, where ever a
question mark symbol is displayed.

Click to display:

• Application level help – an overview of the


application that is available on all pages
• Page level help – explains the available
functionality on the particular page
• Section level help – explains the purpose
of fields and terminology within the section
Setting Preferences

• Click on “Preferences” to set user defaults for:


– hydraulic criteria
– filter values
– product line display options

Input Mode and Units

• Click on “Basic” to enter minimum duty conditions to make a pump selection:

• Click on “Advanced” to set pump parameters and hydraulic impacting features:

• Users can toggle between Basic Mode and Advanced Mode at any time
• Units can be set to US standard, Metric standard, or Custom settings

Project Management

• New – Create a new project • Set as Default – Define default project


• Open – Open an existing project • Import - Import PROS+ wpx files
• Edit – Amend project details • Output Documents - Merge project
• Delete – Permanently remove project datasheets into one PDF
Item Management

• Open – Open an existing item • Move to Project – Move item to a


• Edit – Amend item details different project
• Copy to Project – Copy item to a • Toggle with Primary – Switch alternate
different project and primary items positions
• Delete Item (s) – Permanently remove
item(s)
Navigation

• Navigate by clicking the “Back” or “Next” Button


• Users can also navigate by clicking the page name or node on the
navigation bar at the top of each page

• Enter Basic and/or Advanced

units and tolerances from
“Preferences” located on the
menu bar
Product Filtering
• Product can be also be filter by: Industry, Classification and Orientation
Product Lines Page
• Products are automatically filtered by the entered duty conditions
• The table shows search criteria to help user select pumps
• Select one or many pump lines to search
Product Lines Page
Click on the product line hyperlink to see:
• Enlarged Image • Range Chart
• Link to the IOM Manual • Operating Parameters
• Links to the Product Bulletin in 8 ½ x 11 & A4 formats

Please note that product information is not currently fully available for some products.
Search Results Page
• The Results table show:
– acceptable selections
– near miss selections
• Sort any column by
clicking on the column
header
• View a full screen
performance curve by
clicking on the “Curve”

To view multiple pump curves
at one time:
• Click on the checkboxes to
the left of the status column
in the Search Results Table
• Click on “View Thumbnails”
on the upper left
Price Index
• The “Price Index” column is a
guide and does not reflect the full
price of a complete scope of supply
• The most competitive search result
is shown with a value of “1.0”; two
results will be shown with a value
of “1.0” if two product lines have
been searched. All other search
results are displayed with ratios to
the most competitive result for the
product line.

Additional Notes
• Be patient when loading the product bulletins or IOM manuals. They
may take a little time to load in Adobe.
• Please note that the portal uses the New HI Viscosity Correction
Method.
• Enhancements are added frequently. Users are informed of
enhancements via the “FlowSelex Customer Newsletter” sent via
email.
