1.0 PURPOSE
2.0 SCOPE
The scope of this method statement is to provide guidelines. All works shall be
conducted in conformance with relevant project drawings /specifications and good
industry practices.
4.0 RESPONSIBILITY
4.1.1 To be the focal point for all over interfaces and other communications with the
company and contractor as required during project execution.
4.1.2 Ensure that adequate quality measures are being undertaken.
4.1.3 He shall identify and secure necessary resources, determining the task that must be
completed, assigning the tasks and delegating authority.
4.2.1 Responsible for the coordination of all electromechanical activities, coordination with
other discipline and between various engineers/subcontractors on sites
4.2.2 Ensure all permits are available for works on site and all safety precautions are taken.
4.2.3 Responsible to ensure sufficient and adequate resources are secured and provided to
MEP team.
4.2.4 To direct and coordinate with MEP team and other Engineers for effective execution
on site.
4.2.5 To report back to Division Manager/ Project Manager relevant MEP progress,
bottlenecks cost control and other issues.
4.2.6 Reviewing MEP Daily, Weekly & Monthly Progress reports.
4.2.7 Responsible for completing of all MEP punch items and project close out, handover
documentation and operation maintenance manual, training etc.
4.3 QA/QC ENGINEER
4.3.1 Ensure all inspections are raised and conducted as per the contract specifications,
approved shop drawings & Method statements.
4.3.2 Ensure all current issues of procedures, approved material and shop drawing and
standards are available at the point of use.
5.1 Preparation
5.1.1 Ensure that the proper clearance is available from civil side before
commencement of works.
5.1.2 Check the AHUs foundation and ensure it is as per approved drawings.
5.2 Installation
5.2.1 Visually inspect the exterior casing of the Air Handling Units for any damages
during transporting and transferring of the units.
5.2.2 Prior to start of installation, refer to the approved shop drawing related to the
area of installation and ensure that required material is available at site.
5.2.3 Proper marking shall be done for the unit location / supports as per approved
shop drawing. Ensure the unit model number location shall be same as indicated
on the drawing.
5.2.4 Ensure that the orientation of AHUs is matching with direction of supply and
return duct and all vibration isolators/rubber pads placed.
5.2.5 Under direct supervision of the site Engineer lift the air handling unit, position it
on to the plinth using the crane if required as appropriate and feasible.
5.2.6 Assembling of the air handling unit shall be done by aligning the sections by
using the matching bolt of required each section and proper gaskets supplied by
manufacturer, then tighten the bolts and make sure that the complete unit is
resting properly on the rubber pads.
5.2.7 Manually rotate the fan wheel to ensure free movement of the shaft and bearings.
Check the base is free from corrosion.
