WHAT IS GFRPC ???????

 GFRPC : Glass Fiber Reinforced Pervious Concrete

The partial replacement of glass fiber with cement in

pervious concrete mixture
The pervious concrete mixture includes cement, coarse
aggregates and water
THE BENEFITS OF PERVIOUS CONCRETE

 Eliminates untreated storm water and creates zero runoff!

 Directly recharges groundwater

 Protects streams, watersheds, and ecosystems

 Reduces surface temperatures and heat island effects

 Eliminates need for expensive collection and detention systems

THE DRAWBACK OF PERVIOUS CONCRETE

 Pervious concrete have less compressive strength

 The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of aggregate

size on permeability and strength of glass fiber reinforced
pervious concrete
THE MIX PROPORTIONING

 The investigation is carried out by sample proportions of 1:4 and

1:5.
 The cement is partially replaced with glass fiber in weight of 0%,
1%, 1.5% and 2%.
 The types of aggregate use such as 12.5mm and 20mm.
 All pervious concrete mixtures were proportioned with the fixed
water to cement ratio of 0.38.
THE SPICEMENS SAMPLING

 The concrete was cast in 150mm 𝝬 150mm 𝝬 150mm cubes for

compressive strength test

 The 150mm 𝝬 300mm cylinders for split tensile strength

 The 100mm 𝝬 100mm cylinders for permeability tests.

THE CONCLUSIONS

 Among the 4 mix proportions of glass fibers 0%,1%,1.5% & 2%

mix#4 shows the large compressive strength.

 The split tensile strength is more for mix#4 and permeability is

more for mix#1.

 Although The main objective of pervious concrete is permeability

at the same time the strength also plays major role hence we can
say that mix with 1.5% glass fibers is optimum
 The compressive strength of GFRPC decreases with increase in the aggregate
size from 12.5mm to 20 mm.

 The split tensile strength of GFRPC decreases with increase in aggregate size
from12.5mm to 20mm.

 Permeability increases with change in aggregate size from 12.5mm to 20mm.
