Cultural Profile

INTRO

◦ My name is Adrian P. Braybrooke

◦ My first name, Adrian, is from a video game called Diablo. My dad really liked the game, so that
is how I got my name.

◦ My friends call me Adry for short.

◦ Paige is my middle name, and it is the name of a lawyer my mom really admired.

◦ My last name, Braybrooke, is a place in England. There are traces of English in my dad’s side.

Ethnic Ancestry

◦ I have a diverse Ethnic ancestry.

◦ I am from Germany, so I am German. I also have traces of ancestry from England and Italy.

Family Structure

◦ My family structure is blended, meaning I have siblings from different parents. I have a full
biological sister, a half-brother from a different mom, a half-brother from a different dad, and a
step sister from my ex-step-mom.

Religion

◦ I am considered atheist—I do not believe in any higher power.

◦ I have a very secular view on the way we were brought to be, and I think anything other than a
scientific creation is illogical; however, I respect that others will think differently.

Health/Disability

◦ Both of my biological parents had cancer, so I know there is a higher risk for me and I must take
precautions to ensure that I am aware of what is happening with my body.

◦ My mom also had a mental illness (bipolar depression), and this affects me as well. Growing up
with her emotional break downs and her taking it out on me was very difficult and emotionally
impacted me as well.

Linguistic

◦ I grew up in Germany, so I spoke English and German growing up. However, being in the states
for about 9 years now, I do not know German fluently because I never use it. When I visit, I pick
up on some, so it is nice to try and practice.
