As many of you are aware, I have recently returned from maternity leave with a beautiful, little baby girl:
Ms. Hazel Lynn Mills! Born April 11th, 2018 at 2:42am, weighing 7lbs 12oz and measuring 22 inches long!
As Aric and I cherish this little one ’s presence and acknowledge the joy she brings to our family; I find
myself pondering the many joys our New Members and sweet newborns bring to our Church family and how
wonderful it is to experience new growth! As we continue to expand this community, and ultimately Christ ’s Kingdom, I am sure
many of you ponder our Church’s efforts and direction.
As you know, prior to my leave, the Steering committee approved the addition of three Ministry Teams, and the modification of
an existing Team. These three new Teams (Outreach & Evangelism, the Worship Planning Team and the Congregational Care
Team) were affirmed at Charge Conference in May, and have been formed to sow new gospel seeds and cultivate an
environment of healing and growth, in both our Church and in our Community. And this summer, we hope YOU choose to be a
part of this expansion! From outreach efforts like the Monday Night Community Meal or the Carnival, to opportunities like th e
West End Fair, the Fall Festival on Crystal Street or the St. Patrick ’s Day Parade, our Church is choosing to act on our Mission:
To love Jesus Christ, and to share His love! So come, step out of your comfort zone, and expect to be refreshed and blessed
while blessing others!
Proverbs 11:25 "Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself also be watered."

As a church family, we are seeking to extend outrageous hospitality to all who enter our doors, for all reasons! Many folks who
are not familiar with our church find themselves here when the funeral of a friend or loved one is held at ESUMC. Would you be
willing to occasionally serve as an usher/greeter/welcoming presence when funerals are held at ESUMC? Responsibilities
would include welcoming people, handing out bulletins, asking them to sign the guest register, giving them guidance and
direction as needed. Please contact Kathy Hinkey, 570-236-8183, or k_hinkey@hotmail.com.
“Contribute to the needs of the saints; extend hospitality to strangers.” Romans 12:13

Jesus told a story about a hidden treasure that, once discovered,
brought life-changing joy. In this new video series based on the
best-selling book, The Treasure Principle, Randy Alcorn unearths
a simple yet profound principle that will radically change your
concept of stewardship. Short on guilt, Alcorn illuminates the
liberating joy of giving and its impact, not only for today but for
eternity as well.

Many people have a tough time believing that God still speaks.
We’ve learned from Scripture that God spoke to His people in
ancient times and in mysterious ways, but how do we hear His
voice now? The truth is God still communicates with His people,
but He often speaks in a whisper—not to make it difficult to
hear Him, but to draw us close.
