Operations
1. Chevron is one of the world’s leading integrated energy companies with subsidiaries that
conduct business across the globe.

2. In Indonesia, Chevron is the largest oil producer through our operations in Sumatra, East
Kalimantan and a major geothermal energy producer through our two geothermal &
power operations in West Java.

3. Our operations are supported by approximately 7,000 highly skilled dedicated employees
and more than 32,000 business partner’s employees. Over 97% of our employees are
Indonesian nationals.

4. For more than five decades, we have produced more than 12 billion barrels of oil. 11 out of
12 billion barrels came from our oil onshore oil fields in Sumatra.

5. Chevron’s first major step in Indonesia was taken in 1924, when Standard Oil Company of
California, today know as Chevron, dispatched a geological expedition to the island of
Sumatra.

6. In our Sumatra operations, we operate three major oil fields: Duri, Minas and Bekasap, as
well as manage Dumai Wharf, the final terminal for oil transport.

7. In Duri, we manage one of the world’s largest steam-flood operations, the Duri Steam
Flood (which employs state-of-the-art technology to recover heavy crude oil from
relatively shallow reservoirs), and produce a unique type of crude oil, well-knowed as
Duri Crude.

8. Our Minas Field is the largest oil field ever discovered in South East Asia. And through its
water-flood injection technology, it produces the world-renowned Sumatran Light Crude
oil.

9. Crude oil from Chevron’s production fields is transported to Dumai, through a 600-
kilometer long pipeline system to a tank farm with a 5.1 million barrel storage capacity.
From the tank farm, oil is pump to either the Pertamina refinery or onto oil tankers at
Dumai Wharf.

10. Technology plays a vital role in advancing all aspect of our business. Currently, Chevron
and BPMIGAS have agreed in concept to conduct a limited-scale field trial to test the

 technical performance of surfactant/polymer enhanced oil recovery technology in Minas
Field.

from the Government of Indonesia and other organizations in various areas, such as
employee career development, HIV-AIDS prevention, health and occupational safety, and
environment protection.

been supplying and will continue delivering energy for the country’s growing economy
and continue supporting the livelihood of Indonesian people.
