Gender – Male
Age – 62 years

Industry – Textile
I was born and raised in Nashik, India. At a very tender age, I moved to
Kuwait where I established a career. Since then, I’ve been working in that
country itself. I come to India every few months since my family resides here.
I was born into a joint family. My father was unemployed back then. My
mother was the only breadwinner of the house and she used to manage the
home as well. She earned her income through numberless sources like
stitching, cooking, etc.
Growing up, I’d say my mother had a pre-eminent influence on me. She was a
resilient, independent woman who fought against all odds in life.
I’d also give credit to the fact that I was very motivated and competitive as a
child despite my situation in life.
Next, I worked with a commission agent. Through this job, I got in touch with
some Japanese people and consequently started working with them as a
commission agent in the textile/ manufacturing industry.
I work in Kuwait for Kaneyo Company Limited, which was earlier called
Kanematsu Corporation.
This company has 126 branches in the world and I’ve been working with them
for the past 40 years.
A bachelor’s degree typically lasts for about three years. For your business
administration, you’ll probably incur an expenditure of about INR
5,000–15,000 per year. This also depends upon the university you’re
attending.
The fee structure for Bachelor’s of Management Studies falls in the same
range too.
The above figures vary from person to person depending upon the company
one’s working for, one’s experience, the location of job etc.
I spend about 8–10 hours at the office and work on all days except for
Monday since I’m residing in the Gulf.
1. I love the fact that more people mean more clothes. Therefore, Textile is
a great industry to be in. There are several types of jobs in this industry
and numerous job opportunities, especially in Gulf countries.
2. Additionally, labor is also readily available since this industry doesn’t
really demand a ‘highly skilled’ labor force.
3. As a commission agent, my income is above average. I am very happy,
especially considering where I have grown from.
There aren’t any trends, skills or technologies as such. You just have to
master the art of being diligent and patient. Put in hard work and it’ll
reciprocate!
Since you’re the face of your business, it’s crucial to represent it in a way that
enables the company to thrive. Therefore, a person who is good with people
can win other’s trust, able to handle problems with a cool temper, work long
hours would be happy in this profession.
If you’re selecting a particular path for yourself, stick to it for two to three
years, at least. Umpteen people give up when they don’t see sky-rocketing
results in the first year itself. You have to remain patient and persistent.
If you still don’t see any results after working diligently or you’re just not
enjoying what you’re doing, you can start re-evaluating your professional
selections and make a choice, because, at the end of the day, it’s important to
prioritize your mental health and interests, too.
