Promoted to manage projects designed to enhance supply chain operations, cost, and customer service. Report
directly to Vice President of Distribution and Transportation.
 Established standard job roles, responsibilities, performance standards, and metrics for Distribution
Center Department Managers and Supervisors by leading committee of supervisors and managers
selected from all PetSmart Distribution Centers to identify and clarify roles and responsibilities and
implement associated training.
 Identified operational and strategic benefits of optimizing cycle count process by spearheading
comprehensive review and analysis of existing cycle count methodology, process, and practices. Process
improvement is slated for 2011 implementation.
 Delivered $550K cost avoidance with 1.1M reduction in year-over-year fish loss within the Company (Fish
Departments and Stores) by leading project to compile and publish Fish Operations Manual, standardize all
tasks, establish consistent metrics and reporting, and improve processes.

Assistant General Manager, Newnan Distribution Center  2007 – 2009


Hand-picked to turn around three-shift receiving, replenishment, and fish departments of 900K SF corporate
distribution center. Led team of five direct reporting department managers, plus seven supervisors and 155 hourly
associates. Managed $5.5M annual labor budget and $3M yearly supplies budget.

 Transformed new facility operations from 33% productivity levels and week-long delays in receiving to
achieve 21% and 34% increase in productivity in first and second six months respectively, 88.3% on-time
PO receiving, and improvement in receiving accuracy from 80% to 98.2%.
 Revitalized staff performance by restructuring management, supervisory, and associate teams, setting
expectations and standards, establishing group and individual accountability, and implementing
performance metrics.

General Manager, Brockport Distribution Center  2005 – 2007


Managed all operations of company’s only distribution center supporting online and catalog orders from base of
800K+ customers, as well as replenishment of all 700 retail locations nationwide selling StateLine Tack equine
brand. Led team of one assistant GM, four department managers, seven department supervisors, and 130
associates. Managed $6.5M annual operating budget.
 Turned around distribution center performance, transformed culture, and established accountability,
expectations, standards, and metrics. Resulted in reducing labor costs 5%, returns rate from 4% to 2.5%, in-
transit times by up to 2 full days, backorders as a percent to sales from 16.2% to 9.3%, and increasing
customer fill rate from 99.79% to 99.85%, productivity by 18%, replenishment order accuracy from 98.3% to
99.7%, and associate retention from 70% to 80.4%.
 Played key role in transitioning StateLine Tack equine brand to new ownership, PetsUnited, by design,
planning, and executing product and facility equipment transfer.
 Designed, planned, and executed efficient transfer and management of online and catalog inventory to
Third Party Service Provider’s Kentucky facility.
 Maintained productivity levels and positive morale among employees impacted by sale of StateLine
Tack and outsourcing of online/catalog operation by clearly communicating all available unemployment

ONEIDA – Oneida, NY 2002 – 2004

Directed operations of four domestic distribution centers including two Foreign Trade Zones, forwarders, and
brokers. Managed $26M freight budget and $20M operating budget annually. Led direct reporting team of four GMs
and one Corporate Transportation Manager, plus ~420 indirect reporting managers, supervisors, and associates.
 Accelerated transit times, improved visibility throughout container movement, contained costs, and built
credibility with customers by designing and directing integration of Lead Logistics Provider to manage all
international inbound activities.
 Deferred $9.8M in annual duty payments by leading Buffalo, NY distribution center in obtaining Foreign
Trade Zone certification.
 Delivered $1.6M in annual savings by revising Corporate Vendor Compliance Manual to include
guidelines for maximizing container cube utilization and consolidating less-than-container shipments.
