Engineering at JSSATEN started in the year of
1999 that offers instrumentation and control
engineering at graduation level for regular
scholars. The department has well equipped
laboratories with state-of-the-art facilities to
promote research. The department focuses on
preparing the students to meet global industrial
challenges.

 About Department

The Department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering offers the 4-years B.Tech
programme in Instrumentation and Control Engineering. The JSS Academy of Technical
Education has been offering this course since 1999. The course is affiliated to Dr. A. P. J. Abdul
Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. The Department has well qualified and experienced
faculty. The strength of the department lies in the following fields:
1. Electronics Devices and Circuits
2. Sensor & Instrumentation
3. Control Engineering
4. Micro-controllers & Microprocessors
5. Digital Signal Processing
6. Biomedical Instrumentation
7. Robotics & Embedded Systems
The faculty and the students in the Department have contributed several research papers in the
areas of Control Engineering, Signal Processing, Embedded systems and VLSI. The department
offers several elective courses depending upon the choice of students. The students are
encouraged to work on projects on emerging developments and application. Experts from
Industry are invited to deliver lectures on the state of art in emerging areas. A students Society,
SPICE, functions under the aegis of the Department. It organizes extra-curricular technical
activities to cater to the needs of Instrumentation and Control Engineers and expose them to the
state of art in the field. The faculty takes keen interest to provide necessary counseling and
guidance to the students to, shape their career aspiration through competitions like GATE, CAT,
GRE, etc.
History of Department
Department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering (ICE) was established in the year 1999
to meet the requirement of industry /academic discipline. The ICE department started with an
initial intake of 40 students in UG the programme and intake was enhanced to 60 in the year
2006. It was further enhanced to 120 in the year 2012. In recognition of its academic excellence,
the department was accredited in the year 2008 for three years and 2015 for two years.

Centre of Excellence
Department of Instrumentation & Control Engineering has selected for establishing “Centre of
Excellence” from “Emerson Process Management, Noida”.

Laboratories

The laboratories are set up in various areas of instrumentation & control engineering. Labs are
well equipped with hardwares and softwares like LabVIEW, MATLAB,etc. The simulation lab
is an exclusive facility offered to the students to develop creative thinking and innovation skills.
