INSPECTION: Verify the following are in accordance with design documents CONTRACTOR IPMT

Visual inspection during pulling cable
2 Check cable size and installation
3 Primary conductor is correct size and type in accordance with drawings
4 Ground/ear thing conductor burial depth and routing per drawings and specifications
5 Thermal/compression connections checks (no cold joints or burnouts)
6 Check cable clamp and layout
7 Exothermic (Thermite) welds shall be installed in accordance with the listing requirements and
manufacturer's instructions.

8 Location, type, size and insulation colour of equipment taps per drawings and protected during
construction
9 Inspect resistance of each/groups Resistance Reading (Resistance to Earth and Loop Continuity)

14 General Requirements

15 Ground busses in switchgear and motor control centres (control Gear) and all other electrical
equipment shall have two Connections to the main ground electrode.
16 Metallic enclosures for switchgear and motor control centres
(Control gear) and all other electrical equipment shall be
Connected to a supplementary grounding electrode when not
Bolted to grounded structural steel.
17 Frames of switchgear and control assemblies and all other
Electrical equipment shall be connected to an equipment
Grounding conductor or, where permitted, the grounded
Conductors. (NEC 490.36)
18 System grounding connections shall be made directly to the main ground electrode.

Tanks of medium and high voltage transformers and ground busses for switchgear and motor control
centres shall have two paths for current to flow to this ground electrode.

Equipment grounding shall be done as per of except that required local supplementary grounding of
motors, low voltage transformers, etc. which are not in the main substation area may be done by using
a bonding jumper that is connected to structural steel or deck plate by brazing or exothermic welding .
