Expository writing​ is a type of ​writing​ that is used to explain, describe, give information, or inform.

The 
text is organized around one topic and developed according to a pattern or combination of patterns. 

Introduction:

❏ Focuses on an event or time in history where a group of people or person showed resilience in order to
make a difference, teach a lesson, survive, or make an impact on society for generations to come
❏ Facts and relevant information about the event or time period (ex: Holocaust, Civil Rights Movement,
9/11)
❏ How was resilience demonstrated by people or groups of people involved in event?
❏ How might have things turned out if resilience wasn’t shown?
