TRIVAN DRUM
At present, ERTL (S) has engaged two Graduate apprentice and 12 Diploma Apprentices
with the approval of STQC Head Quarters vide letter No. ……………………………..
……………………….. and they are utilized for executing various incoming jobs, such
as, testing of modules/sub-systems, safety testing of medical electronics eqpt. etc.
As per the direction of Headquarters ERTL(S) has stopped engagement of fresh ITI
apprentices from July 2015 onwards. However, it may kindly be noted that engagement
of Trade Apprentices is mandatory as per Apprenticeship Training Act 1961. As per the
Act, mandated intake of ERTL(S), TVM is minimum 2 and maximum 6. Apart from
this, the S&T manpower at working level in ERTL(S) is only 7,which is less compared
to the volume of work involved. Engagement of Trade Apprentices will solve this
problem to considerable extent.
All our major customers insist upon returning the tested devices / equipments within the
specified time limits since they are using them for projects with tight schedules. In
addition to this, Late Delivery clause applicable for most of the customers this year
onwards .Since major portion of the lab revenue is from such customers, it is important
that we are able to meet their requirements. The services of apprentices will definitely
help us to achieve this.
In view of the facts mentioned above, engagement of ITI apprentices in the field of
Electronics is an inescapable necessity. The apprentices are not only trained in the
respective trade, but are also being as testing personnel, as part of their training which
will ultimately contribute significantly to our revenue.
Hence the proposal to engage a fresh batch of 6 ITI apprentices during 2016-2017 for a
period of one year.
