Christ Melchizedek: The Great Perfection

In answer to a question on the Gospel of Mary that appears in the Nag Hammadi I would like to
share an inmost essential teaching, one that appears elsewhere in our forums but that is intimately
connected to understanding the fragments of this Gnostic Gospel from a Sophian perspective.

“Will matter be destroyed or not?”

The Savior said, “All nature, all formed things, all creatures exist in and with one another and
will be resolved into their own roots. The nature of matter is resolved into is nature alone.
Whoever has ears to hear should hear.”
Peter said, “Since you have explained everything to us, tell us also, what is the sin of the world?”
The Savior said, “There is no sin, but you create sin when you mingle as in adultery, which is
called sin. That is why the Good came to be with you, to enter the essence of each nature, and to
restore it to its root.” (Beginning of the Gospel of Mary)

We may gain insight into this teaching by considering the foundation of the Melchizedek teachings
in our Gnostic lineage. Essentially, by “Melchizedek” is meant our Bornless Nature; more
specifically, it indicates the realization of our True Essence and Nature, which is the True Essence
and Nature of all that appears. Thus, more than a historical person, Melchizedek represents our
True Being – the Christ Nature, or Divine Nature.

What is this Divine Nature? It is the very Nature of Mind, Consciousness or Soul.

Through Primordial Meditation and variations of Primordial Meditation, we learn to recognize and
realize this Nature of Mind, which is called the Foundation or Primordial Ground; hence, we learn
to rest the Mind in its Nature.

To recognize and realize the Nature of Mind, Consciousness or Soul, we may need the help of a
tzaddik, a realized individual; yet, the appearance of the tzaddik is relative, but the Nature of
Mind is the ultimate truth – the Perfect Tzaddik.

Using Primordial Meditation we can look into the Nature of Mind and, perchance, recognize the
Essence, Nature and Energy (three qualities of the Nature of Mind).

Abiding in Primordial Meditation we can turn our attention to the thoughts and images arising, and
seek to look and see the source from which thoughts arise. As we do this we see thoughts appear,
abide and disappear from an apparent “nothing,” or what seems to be “nowhere,” like a great
magical display – and we can find no source. Because we cannot find a source, we cannot call their
source “something,” but because thoughts arise and something appears, we also cannot call the
source “nothing” – rather, we must call it No-Thingness (Ain). If we actually meditate to look and
see this, it is the recognition of the first quality of the Nature of Mind – its Essence, which is empty
or void of substantial self-existence; hence, what we call the Ain Nature.

Contemplating this in meditation, we see that the source of thoughts cannot be found – their
source is a great unmanifest. Likewise, we are observing how all phenomena arises, whether
inwardly appearing or outwardly appearing, and we are recognizing the impermanent nature of all
that appears – everything exists in a constant continuum of change or transformation; this is the
very nature of the Reality-Truth-Continuum.

Essentially, this Ain Nature is the Nature of Mind, Consciousness or Soul, and it is the underlying
nature of all that appears. If we examine any phenomenon closely, we find that it is completely
interdependent and interconnected with every other phenomenon, and that it is inherently devoid
of any independent or substantial self-existence; hence, the individual is inseparable from the
universal.

In the same way, if we look to see the beginning or end of this Mind-Continuum, we can find to
absolute origin or end. In truth, we find nothing “absolute” at all, save for the tendency of ever-
becoming or flow of constant change itself. In this sense, the only absolute we discover is this Ain
Nature and the Principle of Relativity – change itself is the absolute. Thus we cannot verify either
eternalism or nihilism as the absolute Nature of Reality, for there is no absolute principle that is
“something” or “nothing,” eternally existence or non-existent. What we witness is a Continuum of
Being (or Beingness) that occurs as an Ever-Becoming. (This Being and Becoming are inseparable.)

If we continue this contemplation within meditation, even though we recognize the Ain Nature of
Mind, and the Ain Nature of all phenomena arising, nevertheless phenomena continue to manifest,
whether apparently internal or apparently external. Thoughts and images continue to arise, abide
and dissolve in mind, and objects continue to appear – all within this infinite space of Ain,
Nothingness. This perpetual tendency to self-generation, or a natural and spontaneous arising, is
the second quality of the Nature of Mind, Consciousness or Soul – Ain Sof, the Infinite or One-
Without-End.

In the same way that it is the nature of a mirror to reflect whatever appears before it, it is the
nature of consciousness to generate both subtle and gross phenomena. Likewise, just as the nature
of the mirror is unchanged by whatever it reflects, whether something beautiful or ugly, angelic or
demonic, so also is the Nature of Mind unchanged by whatever appears in it. No taint, stain, trace,
mark or impurity is ever left upon it – it is never bound, conditioned or changed by what appears.
It encompasses everything, but is bound by nothing – completely Pure and Perfect, as It Is.

As we observe this radiant display of the Mind, Consciousness or Soul, we see that its Essence is
Void, yet that its Nature is Self-generation; how it emanates is as Energy-Intelligence. Using the
analogy of the mirror, how this energy manifests is akin to the images that appear in the mirror,
which are the display of the mirror’s own intrinsic qualities visibly manifesting. Everything
appearing in the mirror is an expression of its own Essence, Nature and Energy, which are
inseparable from one another: the same is true of the Essence, Nature and Energy of the Primordial
Ground – the Mind or Consciousness.

This Energy is also Intelligence, and is the principle of Awareness – the very fact that we can
recognize the Ain Nature of Mind, and the Ain Sof quality of this Nature, is, itself, the third quality
of the Nature of Mind – it is Awareness. This quality of Energy-Intelligence or Awareness is Ain Sof
Or (Infinite Light).

In this way, through contemplation in meditation we recognize the Nature of Mind – Pure Radiant
Awareness, which may also be called Being-Consciousness-Force.

These three qualities of the Nature of Mind, Consciousness or Soul may also correspond to Christos,
Logos and Sophia, respectively, at the inmost essential level of Gnostic Christian teachings.

If we recognize this Bornless Nature of Mind – the Great Perfection, and we are able to abide in this
Pure Radiant Awareness without attachment or aversion, all that arises in the mind naturally and
spontaneously self-liberates, just as it is naturally and spontaneously self-generated: in the same
way it spontaneously appears, it spontaneously disappears. Everything is resolved into its own root
– its own essence and nature. There is no doer, no saint or sinner, there is no sin and there is no
death – there is only Bornless Being, Christ Melchizedek.

This is the ultimate truth, the ultimate good.

What is the Good that enters into the essence of each nature to restore it to its root? It is the Light
of Awareness, for all that arises it reintegrated by the Light of Awareness.

Of course, we must meditate and contemplate to recognize the Nature of Mind, Consciousness or
Soul, and we must learn how to realize this Natural Perfection by repose in this Bornless Nature;
intellectual knowledge of this is not enlightenment or liberation, but rather it must become
experiential to enlighten and liberate the soul-stream.

In light of this inmost essential teaching we might inquire into the need for outer and inner
teachings, and associated practices, such as awakening the serpent power, generating the sacred
heart of compassion, gnostic worship and such. These respond to the relative truth of the
unenlightened condition, and provide a means by which various individuals might realize the
ultimate truth of their Innate Perfection (Innate Enlightenment); hence, they are a response to
diverse versions of karmic vision or obstructions to recognition and realization of the ultimate
truth.

Essentially, outer, inner and secret teachings all aim at the realization of this ultimate truth, and
all lead to the realization of this ultimate truth because this Truth, this Good, which we call Christ,
Melchizedek, or Perfect Tzaddik, is the very Nature of our Mind, Consciousness or Soul. It is the
present truth and good of our Inmost Being – the Divine I Am (Eheieh).

This Divine Nature in us is also called the Virgin Mother and Mother Sophia, for its recognition and
realization is, in essence, the Immaculate Conception of Christ in us – the birth of Christ
Consciousness in us.

In the light of this teaching we may say that the Master was born the Christ, though the recognition
of the Christ occurred in the rite of baptism, in the Sacred Jordan; but so also are we born the
Christ, though until the recognition and realization of the ultimate truth we are bound to
appearances of relative truth and are not the Christ. This divine potential must be realized to be
actual.

Christ is not born, for Christ is Melchizedek – the Bornless Nature, Bornless Being: “Without father,
without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but
resembling the Son of God, he remains priest forever” (Hebrews 7:3).

In closing we can say this: In the Holy Kabbalah the most common terms for God are Ain, Ain Sof
and Ain Sof Or; in the Melchizedek teachings we see the union of a theistic and non-theistic view –
whether we approach by way of a theistic view or non-theistic view the ultimate truth remains the
same: The Great Perfection, Christ Melchizedek.

Perhaps this might shed some light on the fragments of the Gospel of Mary found at Nag Hammadi
and Gnostic teachings to which they might point – it certainly seems to reflect what we find in the
Melchizedek teachings within the Sophian lineage.

May all beings be blessed to recognize their Primordial Perfection and experience the Great
Ascension, amen.

Blessings & shalom!

Thank you!

Wow! A most sublime presentation! Mixes the best of Western philosophy with the illuminated
understandings of the Holy Kabbalah and the Sophian Gnostic way. I hear traces of Schopenhauer,
Kant, Heidegger, and many others in your exposition. Thank you for this post, Tau Malachi!
Confession
by Tau Malachi Posted: Tue Nov 08, 2005 8:07 pm

Greetings Doug!

Well, I suppose I must confess, I have not study any of the works of those whom you mention, not
one of them - I'm afraid I'm unlearned in twentieth century philoposphy and such, and am not much
of an acedemic scholar; but I do know this Nature of Mind can be recognized and realized - that it
is the nature of us all. Perhaps those you mention, through the force of their meditative
contemplation, were able to recognize something of this Nature of Mind - in any case, it is this
alone that liberates the mind or soul-stream, regardless of the teaching or method followed. It
seems all teachings and methods of authentic wisdom tradtions lead to this realization, whether in
a direct way or indirect way.

It is not removed from us, but is our inmost nature and essence - so its realization could very well
be embodied in anyone. In fact, this Bornless Nature is the truth within and behind all that
appears, whether animate or inanimate, whether apparently internal or external.

So it seems, all who sincerely seek will find this truth - relative and ultimate.

May this realization come to fruition in us, amen.

Blessings & shalom!

Light Kingdom

Shalom Tau Malachi!

I'm very grateful this is being shared in the forum. May all who read recognize and remember!
When explanation of this grade of clarity is offered, all that remains is to simply sit and apply it.

When to apply this in the midst of (what Sogyal Rinpoche called our) "active laziness" in the West
seems offered uniquely in the day of rest, also known as Shabbat; on the need for this weekly
practice, you've written very generously throughout this forum. In light of this inmost nature of
mind, the teaching of the Savior in the Sermon on the Mount seems to acquire much force:

Seek first the Kingdom of God and its righteousness and all the rest shall be added unto you.

"Kingdom" here has already in other teachings on this forum been associated with "Light", as in
"Light Kingdom". "Kingdom" itself, in Hebrew is the tenth sephirah Malkuth, to which is attributed
the Sacred Circle and Shabbat, the conditions in which Grace may move as the Bride, Our Lady
Mary. The intention with which we enter into this Shabbat can be neither that of a saint nor the
sinner, but the Tzaddik, the Righteous One. "All the rest" can be heard so many ways, being
somehow intimately connected with this special teaching on the nature of Mind, Consciousness or
Soul. What more might be drawn out this in regards to Shabbat?

Gratefully,

Brothersmiley

Mingling

Greetings All!

Thank you Tau Malachi for the incredible teaching above! Thanks also Doug & Brothersmiley for
your insightful comments. I wonder if you might elaborate a little more on the words "there is no
sin, but you create sin when you mingle as in adultery." The word "sin" obviously is a loaded word
for many of us who come out of a more exoteric background and I'm very intrigued by the way it's
characterized here. I've always thought of sin as anything that separates us from God or the Divine
(i.e., missing the mark), but the notion of sin as "mingling" adds even more layers of meaning. We
can never be truly separated from God since he is immanent, but mingling or becoming attached to
the denser aspects of this fallen world or our own egos can certainly keep us from experiencing
that divine immanence. Hence, if I understand correctly, "awareness without attachment or
aversion...naturally and spontaneously self-liberates."

Thanks again for your teachings and for this very valuable forum.

The Energetic Display

by Tau Malachi Posted: Wed Nov 09, 2005 12:09 pm

Greetings everyone!

This recognition of the Nature of Mind, Consciousness or Soul is the truth of the Foundation from
which both the individual and universal arises; hence, the Primordial Ground of Consciousness.
When we go deep into this meditation, contemplating the Nature of Mind, the Nature of Reality as
It Is, we recognize that internally appearing phenomena and externally appearing phenomena arise
in the very same way – all is an energetic or radiant display of mind, consciousness or soul. The
space of consciousness that appears internal and the space of consciousness that appears external
are, in truth, not separate from one another, but are inseparable from one another and are, in
essence, a unified field of mind, consciousness or soul.

Everything transpires in Consciousness: All is Consciousness; Consciousness is All.

How thoughts and imagery arise, and how objects appear, is an energetic or radiant display of
Mind, Consciousness or Soul; yet, the Energy of the Foundation is inseparable from the Essence and
Nature – the Energy is Ain (No-thingness) and Ain Sof (Infinite), hence Ain Sof Or. This Energy
manifests in three distinct ways, and like the three qualities of the Nature of Mind, these three
modes of Energy are inseparable from one another, being completely interconnected and
interdependent. They correspond to the alchemical terms “salt,” “sulfur” and “mercury,” and are
parallel to the principles of tamas, rajas and sattva in the Eastern schools.

Salt indicates the way in which the Energy-Intelligence of an individual (and the collective)
appears as a seemingly external environment, realm or world, and all objects appearing in it. In
the unenlightened condition, bound to cosmic ignorance (the demiurge; fundamental dualism),
sentient beings experience themselves as separate and cut off from their environment, more or
less, and experience themselves as distinct from the environment in which they appear. In this
fundamental dualism the world is “out there” and self is “in here,” even though the individual is
inseparable from all that appears, just as the individual is inseparable from the universal and the
source of being.

We can gain some insight into this by contemplating the refraction of light passing through a
crystal. Just as the sun’s light enters into a crystal and is reflected and refracted by it, causing
diverse rays and patterns of various colors to appear, which seem separate from the crystal, they
are, in fact, part of its own intrinsic nature. In the same way your own energy is perceived by
impure senses as an environment separate and apart from yourself (as though something to
“mingle with, as in adultery,” in the delusion of a subject/object relationship!).

In reality, because all things share the same Foundation of Consciousness, there is nothing truly
separate or external to the individual. In truth, there is an underlying Ground of Sacred Unity or
Oneness, though there is an appearance of Multiplicity; hence the Primordial Perfection. With
realized individuals this mode of Energy manifests as the Perfect Body of Emanation, also called
the Manifestation Body – an appearance in the state of Non-dual Gnostic Awareness or Pure Radiant
Awareness, as we see with Master Yeshua and other realized adepts and masters. By its nature, it
includes the entire field of existence within the material dimension, individual and universal. Thus,
a realized individual could potentially generate numerous Emanation Bodies simultaneously, or
could transform an apparent karmic body into an Emanation Body, or potentially alter the
appearance of such a body. Unlike the Glory Body, which is the manifestation of a more subtle
mode of the Energy (corresponding to sulfur), the Emanation Body is visible to all sentient beings in
the material realm or world in which it appears, though all may not be able to actually recognize
the presence of a realized or enlightened being.

Whether or not we are able to recognize a realized individual depends upon our own development
and evolution, and the degree we are able to shift from the Vision of Ignorance to the Vision of
Experience; hence, the degree to which we are able to intuit or experience something of the Light-
presence and Light-power of the adept or master.

It is said that such Emanation Bodies can assume any form, even the most unlikely forms of animals
and apparent inanimate objects. In their unconditional love and compassion realized beings will
manifest their Gnosis Mind in any form beneficial and necessary to the Great Work – the harvest of
souls. A disciple’s own body may become akin to an Emanation Body of their Tzaddik if the disciple
has a strong and true heart-connection with the Tzaddik – upon actual realization the body of the
disciple will be transformed into an Emanation Body of her or his own Self-realization. Anyone who
becomes close to a realized individual extends and serves as a matrix of the Light-presence and
Light-power embodied in that holy person and, in so doing, is receiving and imparting the Light
Transmission – their own process of Self-realization is supported and facilitated in this way.

All of this is a natural and spontaneous affair by virtue of the truth of Energy manifesting in the
mode of “salt.” Thus, when we speak of the Threefold Body of Melchizedek in the teachings, it
does not just mean the bodies and vehicles of an enlightened or Christed individual, nor only
objects that would qualify as holy relics. It indicates the Energy manifesting on all three levels
inherent within every individual being – for if other individuals may, in effect, become Emanation
Bodies of Enlightened Beings, then this truth of the Perfect Tzaddik must also exist within each and
every one of us or it would not be possible. Thus, in terms of the Threefold Body, we are speaking
of the Body, Speech and Mind completely realized and unveiled from karmic conditioning.

Sulfur indicates the way your energy manifests as internal mental-emotional phenomena, and as
the internal display of images, appearances or events, rather than as the apparent external
manifestations of the salt mode. We may gain insight into this by considering a crystal sphere and
how objects appear within it. Just as when an object is placed near a crystal sphere an image of
that object appears within it, so also does the Energy of an individual arise as internally appearing
phenomena that can seem as “real” or “substantial” in their dimension as any apparently external
phenomena. Yet, however vivid images arising in the visionary dimension may appear, or how
impressive a psychic experience might be, it is nevertheless the manifestation of your own Energy
in the sulfur mode. It is within this dimension, first and foremost, through prayer, contemplation
and meditation that initiates of the Path to Self-realization labor to transform impure Karmic
Vision into the Pure Vision of Enlightenment.

Karmic vision is, essentially, your preconceptions, preconditions and expectations that shape and
color your perception of reality. Likewise, it is your grasping at name and form, and personal
history; hence, who you think you are, what you think you know, and what you believe Reality,
Enlightenment or God to be. Thus, it is your subjective projections, obstructing thoughts and
desires that prevent the recognition of the Nature of Mind and Reality as It Is. In other words, it is
the misperception of yourself and reality on account of fundamental ignorance (dualism in
consciousness). This reflects the relative truth of our need for self-purification and tikkune-
healing.

This same mode of Energy arises as the Body of Glory in the experience of the realized individual –
the Body of Pure Joy. It is a subtle Body of Light and can assume any shape or form; it may appear
as points of light, rays of light, fields of light or geometrical patterns of light. It could appear in
the form of a great divine being, archangel or order of angels, as a single being or entire array of
beings, and may assume peaceful, blissful or wrathful appearances, all as is necessary for the
liberative action of the Great Work. From within this Body of Light a realized being can generate
pure realms or mansions of heaven to extend blessings and sanctuary to sentient beings. The
capacity of the Glory Body is incomprehensible. Unlike the Emanation Body that appears in the
material dimension, this Angelic Body appears in the subtle inner dimensions – it is the appearance
of an adept or master on the “inner planes.” Essentially, the Glory Body is the manifestation of the
Pure Energy of the Foundation of Consciousness occurring in the sulfur mode; hence, a natural and
spontaneous display of enlightenment.

Mercury indicates the most subtle and sublime way the Energy manifests – it is the Energy of the
underlying Primordial Nature, the Clear Light or Pure Awareness: Gnostic Being/Enlightened Being.

The Energy in this mode is unconditional and formless – it represents infinite possibility and is
limitless in nature; it is everything and nothing whatsoever, yet it is neither “something” nor
“nothing.” It cannot be described, though it has been likened to the most subtle light of the pre-
dawn sky.

Using the analogy of the crystal sphere, just as when the sphere is set on a colored piece of cloth
and the sphere is filled with color, but when the cloth is removed it returns to its original nature –
it is unconditional and formless like this.

In this mode of Energy the individual and universal abide in Union – there is oneness and
multiplicity without contradiction; form is formlessness, formlessness is form. It is Supernal or
Supramental Consciousness in its essence; it is the Energy of Enlightenment.

On one hand, we may speak of the realized individual as a drop of salt water poured back into the
ocean; yet, on the other hand, we may speak of the ocean pouring through the drop of salt water –
the experience of Union is akin to this.

It is the Primordial Nature of Mind, complete free from all karmic conditioning. Perfect Delight!

The Energy of each and every one of us is the same – it is inherently and intrinsically pure,
absolutely pristine in its Essence and Nature. Yet, as the result of cosmic ignorance (dualism) self-
grasping, attachment and aversion arise, and a karmic continuum is generated through which the
mind or soul-stream arises as body, speech and mind bound by karmic conditioning. Thus, the soul-
stream becomes bound to the gilgulim – potentially endless transmigrations. This impure Karmic
Vision (Vision of Ignorance) is akin to a dream in which we do not know that we are dreaming, but
experience the dream as though it is “real” separate and apart from us, bound to the experience
of whatever unconsciously arises in the dream – whether pleasant or unpleasant, heaven, hell, or
another reality in-between. Immersed in this ignorance, the delusion of dualism, the ordinary
individual is so overwhelmed and conditioned by this karmic continuum that the impure body, voice
and mind that appears actually seems to be who and what the individual is; yet, in reality, this
name and form, and personal history, is not who or what the individual truly is. On account of
dualism, we “mingle as in adultery,” grasping at a false perception of self, and reacting with
attachment or aversion to what arises (internally and externally) in the illusion of a subject/object
relationship.

The term “adultery” is precise, for our realization of Union is prevented this way; likewise, the
term idolatry would also be precise, for in our delusion we believe our happiness is dependent
upon something separate and apart from us – such is the unenlightened condition. Adultery and
idolatry are fundamentally the same – relationships with others and life based upon the dualism of
subject and object, the delusion of an independent and substantial self-existence. This results in
much sorrow and suffering.

The word for “sin” in Hebrew means “missing the mark,” the mark of truth. In an absolute sense,
there is no missing the mark, there is no sin (no karma); yet, in a relative sense, we do miss the
mark and create sin (karmic conditioning).
The Essence, Nature and Energy of the Body Voice and Mind is the same, whether enlightened or
unenlightened; but bound to self-identification with name and form, and personal history,
“mingled as in adultery” (in the unenlightened condition), we become entangled in the karmic
matrix and our Natural State becomes further obscured. If we continue in this way the
unenlightened condition could potentially go on forever, without end; but setting ourselves upon
the Path to Self-realization there is an end to it in sight, whether sooner or later, all in due season.

The discussion of the Day of Rest (Shabbat), and the hunger and thirst for righteousness must wait
for another post, as no doubt this post is long enough as it is, and I am inclined to pause for
reflection, contemplation and meditation upon what has been shared.

(This is the extension of the Melchizedek teachings from the recognition of the Essence and Nature
of the Foundation, to the recognition of the Essence and Nature of the Energy-Intelligence.)

Remember, your Body, Speech and Mind, in their true Essence and Nature, are the Threefold Body
of Melchizedek – it is only the delusion of dualism that makes it seem otherwise and that creates
the experience of relative bondage. Thus, taking the Attainment as the Path, for it is the present
truth of our inmost being, may we abide in Holy Remembrance and experience the Great Exodus!

Let us pray to this end, amen.

Blessings & shalom!

Shabbat & Light Kingdom

by Tau Malachi Posted: Thu Nov 10, 2005 3:05 pm

Greetings!

Now, perhaps, we can consider the Shabbat and Light Kingdom in the context of the Melchizedek
teachings.

In essence, one who is able to rest the mind in its nature, and who is able to abide in Primordial
Contemplation, allowing all that arises to naturally and spontaneously self-liberate, such a person
abides perpetually in the Holy Shabbat, and they experience the Eternal Shabbat, whether in the
body or beyond the body, just the same. The Shabbat is called the Day of Rest, and this is Perfect
Repose; whether on the day of Shabbat or in the midst of the six days of work, if one abides in
Primordial Contemplation and there is no doer, then one is truly at rest – this is our Noble Ideal.

The Eternal Shabbat and experience of the Light Kingdom are synonymous.

In the Gospel of St. Thomas the Master says, “If you do not fast from the world, you will not find
the kingdom. If you do not observe the Shabbat as Shabbat, you will not see the Father.”

What does it mean to “fast from the world”? It means we must learn to go within and live within,
and turn our attention to the mind, and look and see the truth for ourselves. In essence, it is this
that leads to recognition, which is the Vision of Experience through which the Vision of Ignorance is
dispelled; hence, through which we penetrate karmic vision with the Light of Awareness and
realize Pure Vision. The truth is, the Light Kingdom is within and all around us, and is spread out
upon the earth, but on account of karmic vision we do not have eyes to see it. Thus, other realms,
worlds and universes appear due to impure emanations of the fundamental elements of
consciousness, or impure senses.

In a neurotic state, it is as though we project a castle in the sky, and in a psychotic state it is as
though we go and live there, and it seems very “real” to us. In fact, it is “reality” to us! This is
akin to the transmigrations of the soul-stream through diverse incarnations in heavens, hells and
earths, or various in-betweens; dreams in which the dreamer is unaware that they are asleep and
dreaming.

Perhaps you may recall the teaching on the principle of Tzaddik as the Element of Space from
which all the other elements arise; the Perfect Tzaddik is the element of space self-liberated
through the recognition and realization of the Nature of Mind and the arising of the Great Vision of
Melchizedek.

When a person is able to reintegrate him or herself into Bornless Being, resting mind within its own
nature, and abiding in the spaciousness of the Clear Light – Pure Radiant Awareness, the Great
Vision of Melchizedek naturally and spontaneously arises within the Clear Light of Pure Awareness.
Five Essential Lights appear, corresponding to the pure emanation of the elements (as represented
by the five letters of the Blessed Name of Yeshua). This display of the Primordial Elements of
Consciousness arises from Sound-Vibration within the Clear Light; hence the “Primordial Logos
arising within the Primordial Sophia.” They are the essential underlying structure of both the
individual and universal, and from them emanate Rays of Light – the Five Primordial Rays, which
become Seven Cosmic Rays.

Generally, due to impure karmic vision, ordinary individuals perceive the manifest dimension of
reality that is the product of the Gross Elements of Consciousness that arise from a sub-atomic
level. This Great Vision, which is the natural and spontaneous arising of the Primordial Sound-
Vibration, Lights and Rays, however, is within and behind the sub-atomic level, occurring on a far
more subtle and sublime level – supernal or supramental. In fact, they are within and behind the
nuclear level of reality and are the Primordial Matrix of the entire magical display we call the
Reality-Truth-Continuum. When one reintegrates oneself into Primordial or Bornless Being one is
able to perceive this most subtle and sublime level of the Reality-Truth-Continuum directly; hence
in a state of Pure Seeing or Gnostic Being (Knowing Being).

From this most essentially level, the Vision of the Supernal World of Light arises. These Lights and
Rays form Light Patterns, and the Light Patterns form the underlying structure of Light Images and
the radiant display of the Light Kingdom – all of this is here and now, in this very space of
consciousness, just as are all of the realms, worlds and universes of Creation, Formation and
Making.

The energy-intelligence of these Vibrations, Lights and Rays arising in the Primordial Ground of
Consciousness generate and give substance to all apparently internal and external phenomena. In
the holy temple of the human one the root of this Clear Light resides in the heart center, and this
Light-force remains only a potential at the level of the brow and transcendent centers until it is
realized in the heart center (hence, the emphasis in our spiritual practice on the generation of the
Sacred Heart of Love and Compassion). The heart center is the Sanctuary of the Indwelling Christ,
the brow center is the Sanctuary of the Cosmic Christ, and the transcendent center is the
Sanctuary of the Primordial Christ – likewise, these centers correspond to the Emanation Body,
Glory Body and Truth Body, respectively. In energetic practices associated with the Melchizedek
Transmission, these three centers in the subtle body are the principle points of focus of the
Serpent Power, which we seek to bring into cessation or repose; thus, they are the principle
centers to which our attention is directed in spiritual practices that aim at Supernal Self-
realization.

This most subtle and sublime energy-intelligence moves through the channel-ways of the subtle
body, and when actualized transform the subtle body into a Body of Light – the Body of the
Resurrection. They also move through organs of sensation, most especially our eyes; hence the
saying, “The eyes are the mirrors of the soul.” Thus, these energy-intelligences are within and
behind our interior and exterior sense perceptions, and they are within and behind every level of
consciousness, including the supernal, mental, vital and material or physical consciousness. When
all impurities, distortions, hindrances and obstructions arising from dualism and the karmic
continuum it engenders are transformed or dissolved, all levels of consciousness are
vehicles/expressions of this Supernal Light-presence; hence, the manifestation of the Threefold
Body of Melchizedek.
The five essential lights can manifest in two distinct ways, dependent upon whether or not an
individual is reintegrated with Bornless Being. If there is Clarity and the Presence of Awareness,
then these five essential lights manifest as Five Pure Visions and Self-aware Wisdom spontaneously
generates the Pure Body of Light. From five essential lights, five pure elements emanate, which in
turn emanate five external elements, five sense perceptions, and so on and so forth, all in their
pure or natural state, until the fullness of the Body of Glory and Body of Emanation is manifest.
This is the Great Vision manifesting in the context of the microcosm, but at the same time one
beholds the arising of the macrocosm in the same way, and one experiences the union of the
individual and universal, the microcosm and macrocosm – hence, the Pleroma of Light or Light
Kingdom. Conversely, if there is Confusion and a lack of the Presence of Awareness, by the very
same process the mind or soul-stream is compelled into incarnation by way of the karmic
continuum and the body, speech and mind arising are conditioned by karma, and the soul-stream is
bound to a corresponding version of karmic vision – hence the appearance of the realms, worlds
and universes of Creation, Formation and Making (the matrix of sentient existence in the
unenlightened condition).

The Perfect Tzaddik is Christ Melchizedek, and we speak often of the Gnostic and Light
Transmission imparted by the Tzaddik; hence Gnostic Initiation or Empowerment, The Melchizedek
Transmission is in the inmost secret level of the Light Transmission, which is said to be imparted
mind-to-mind and heart-to-heart, when the Tzaddik and Disciple disappear and there is only the
Light-continuum, Light-presence and Light-power, the Enlightened One, Christ Melchizedek.

Perhaps you think that the Tzaddik is blood and flesh, or that you need some article belonging to
the Tzaddik, a red protection cord or something else to acquire a blessing, or that the
empowerment is dependent upon the physical presence of the Tzaddik – the person of the Tzaddik.
That is only the relative appearance of the Tzaddik – luminous dust in the wind of the Bornless
Spirit! If you really wish to know what Tzaddik means, the Tzaddik is the entire self-arising
phenomenal universe. The appearance of the Tzaddik in the form of a holy person is talismanic,
the symbolic master – the Perfect Tzaddik is not the human teacher. Truth is every single instant of
all that is arising, the entire magical display of the phenomenal universe and all that appears – the
Perfect Tzaddik is the Bornless Nature of all things.

There is, indeed, the Emanation Body that manifests as the personality and life display of a holy
person who is Tzaddik – a Holy Body that is completely inseparable from the entire phenomenal
universe. There is also the Glory Body, the Energy Dimension of the Tzaddik, the Mystical Tzaddik
manifesting as experience: the very Nature of our own experience, the Inner Tzaddik. Then there
is the most subtle and sublime, the most formless and absolute Tzaddik: the Truth Body – the
Infinite Radiant Emptiness. All of this may be realized in an instant of abiding in Pure Radiant
Awareness – the thunderbolt realization of the Gnostic Master, the Inner Tzaddik – Pure Being
(Eheieh).

It would seem that the appearance of the Tzaddik as a holy person – our relative teacher and
guide, is the Holy Tzaddik becoming a character in our dream seeking to remind us that we are
asleep and dreaming so that we might become lucid in the dream, and becoming lucid, we might
awaken from our sleep and dream to behold the Light Kingdom. Becoming lucid in the dream is
akin to the Vision of Experience, awakening from sleep and dream is Pure Vision – the Resurrection
and Ascension.

This is the Way of Wild Gnosis – Crazy Wisdom!

The Light Kingdom and Threefold Body are inseparable – and so when Master Yeshua imparting
teachings to the people he often said, “The kingdom of heaven has come near to you this day.”

Who is the Lord of the Holy Shabbat? Christ Melchizedek, the Enlightened One, who abides in
Perfect Repose; and yet who entertains the Sacred Dance – the Being of the Becoming. Hallelu Yah!

In very truth we live in a Magical Universe! How Awesome! How Wonderful!

With the eyes of a little child, our Innate Perfection, may we look and see, amen.

Blessings & shalom!

Ain Soph Or
by Elder Gideon Posted: Sat Nov 12, 2005 10:58 am

Shalom Malachi!

These posts make clearer and more precise what is only now beginning to form into a practice I
may engage anywhere anytime. I'm very grateful for your skill in making these precious teachings
on liberation so accessible.

I'm quite intrigued by what is being said of Ain Soph Or, the energetic or radiant display of thoughts
and imagery. Internally and externally, this display is constant. These teachings clearly explain that
there is no literal divide between externally appearing phenomena (Salt) or internally appearing
phenomena (Sulphur). And yet, between these "two" fields, there is a duality in our experience. Is
Ain Soph Or both their union and transcendence? What more may be said of Ain Soph Or as the
energetic or radiant display?

Many thanks and much gratitude for this flow of teachings!

Awareness & Energy

by Tau Malachi Posted: Sat Nov 12, 2005 2:51 pm

Greetings Brother Michael!

The third quality of the Nature of Mind, Consciousness or Soul, which is Ain Sof Or (Infinite Light),
represents the principle of Awareness; yet, it also represents how phenomena arise, whether
internally appearing or externally appearing – hence, as Energy. In practices dealing with the subtle
dimension of energy within and behind the body-mind complex, we discover that Energy directly
relates to the level of Awareness that is present, or to the level of Consciousness we experiences –
the greater the flow of Energy, the greater the Presence of Awareness, generally speaking.

Energy and Awareness are directly connected, and are one and the same in our experience; hence
the phrase “Energy-Intelligence” that occurs in the teachings, indicating the union of Energy and
Awareness.

This reflects the need for initiation or empowerment as we receive the Melchizedek teachings,
specifically reliance upon teacher and guide who is experienced in the Way of Melchizedek – for we
need Energy to take our meditation deeper and to generate the Presence of Awareness, and we
receive transmissions of Spiritual Energy from the Tzaddik. Indeed, the Energy-Intelligence within
and behind the words of the teachings or the explanation of the teachings is far more important
than the words or explanations themselves – it is the transmission of Spiritual Energy we most need
for direct recognition. Of course, when a spiritual transmission of energy is coupled with an oral or
written transmission of the teaching, our awareness is increased and we are more likely to
understand the teaching clearly – assuming we remain open and sensitive, and do not grasp or
avoid.

As we receive teachings, thinking “I know” or “I do not know,” or “I understand” or “I do not

understand” is an obstruction – hence grasping or avoiding. Rather, we wish to just look and see,
and recognize the truth, letting go of such obstructing thoughts in the moment of the transmission:
we want to Be Here Now.

In this way simply receiving the transmission of teachings can be an initiation or empowerment,
though there are also other forms of initiation or empowerment.

As much as looking into the Nature of Mind, we must become aware of the play of Energy and we
must awaken the full spectrum of our Energy-Intelligence; hence, the various “energetic practices”
associated with the Melchizedek teachings, both as preliminary practices and practices responding
to specific obstructions in the flow of our energy.

As we come to understand the “body” and its reflection in the whole material dimension with
which it is intimately linked, we will recognize a direct correspondence between the human body
and the matrix of the universe; hence, that both the body and material universe are the
manifestation of a single energy, one field of energy. Thus, through the material dimension of the
body we come to an understanding of the subtle energy within and behind it, or the “voice.” Just
as with the body and its innate unity with the material dimension of the universe, we will
recognize that voice is intimately linked with the subtle metaphysical dimensions of the universe.

Energy is not material, visible or tangible to the exterior senses of the body, but is perceived by
the interior senses, corresponding to “voice.” These senses must be awakened, purified and
cultivated, just as the full spectrum of our subtle energy must be awakened, sublimated and
cultivated, allowing direct perception of the energy dimension within and behind the material
dimension. The energy dimension is something far more subtle and sublime than the material
dimension, and it can be difficult to understand – words can be very deceptive when speaking
about it, especially to individuals outside of the Gnostic experience or to individuals bound to
dualism and grasping at psychic experiences. One of the perceivable aspects of the energy
dimension is vibration, or sound; hence its association with “voice” or “speech.” The voice is
linked to breath, and the breath is linked to the vital energy – this reflects the common use of
breath exercises and chant in energetic practices.

Through meditation on the body and voice we can come to deeper insight into the mind, which is
the most subtle and sublime manifestation of energy, perceptible only by abiding in the state of
Pure Awareness, devoid of attachment or aversion. Yet, before we awaken our interior senses and
the full spectrum of our energy-intelligence, it is best to be established in the recognition of the
Nature of Mind – lest, as we open to the energy dimension all manner of difficulties may arise, not
the least of which are the delusions that arise from psychic experiences born of ignorance
(dualism).

It is important that we look and see the Ain Nature of all that arises, and that we recognize the
infinite self-generating capacity of Mind, Consciousness or Soul (Ain Sof), and recognize all that
appears as the radiant display of the Infinite Light of Mind, Consciousness or Soul (Ain Sof Or) – for
then we will not be deceived as we open our interior sense or overwhelmed as we awaken the full
spectrum of our subtle energy.

It is possible that greater amounts of subtle energy may move apart from the Presence of
Awareness, or in a dualistic state of consciousness. Energy can appear to be removed from
Awareness in ignorance; yet, Energy and Awareness are inseparable in the enlightenment
experience – thus Energy and Awareness correspond to Ain Sof Or.

All of the fields of existence that arise and all of the sentient beings that appear in them, it is all a
magical display of Light or Energy – from within this matrix of existence and from within sentient
beings, we clearly see the emergence of Awareness or Intelligence, which points to the
inseparability of this Light or Energy and Awareness or Intelligence.

There is a subtle hint to a profound truth in this teaching on Ain Sof Or. Although on account of
ignorance (dualism) we are bound to sorrow and suffering, nevertheless the arising of
consciousness in dualism is necessary for individuation, which opens the way to awakening and
conscious reintegration. Thus, in a manner of speaking, ignorance (agnosis) serves a purpose, and is
inseparable from enlightenment (gnosis). In other words, the apparent separation of agnosis and
gnosis is a product of fundamental dualism in consciousness, and is illusory in nature!
Perhaps this relates to the question behind your question, though you did not go directly at the
interplay of energy and awareness.

May the husks of ignorance and enlightenment be shattered by the Thunderbolt Realization!
Amen.

Blessings & shalom!

Rooted in the Heart

by Elder Gideon Posted: Sat Nov 12, 2005 6:03 pm

Shalom Tau Malachi!

Quoting your post on Shabbat and the Light Kingdom:

"In the holy temple of the human one the root of this Clear Light resides in the heart center, and
this Light-force remains only a potential at the level of the brow and transcendent centers until it
is realized in the heart center (hence, the emphasis in our spiritual practice on the generation of
the Sacred Heart of Love and Compassion). The heart center is the Sanctuary of the Indwelling
Christ, the brow center is the Sanctuary of the Cosmic Christ, and the transcendent center is the
Sanctuary of the Primordial Christ – likewise, these centers correspond to the Emanation Body,
Glory Body and Truth Body, respectively."

Is the term "Light Kingdom" as it occurs in these Melchizedek teachings in fact synonymous with
everything said of Ain Soph Aur? If this is so, then truly, this secret teaching is found all over the
canonical Gospels!

According to what is quoted above, this is curious, for to "Kingdom" is associated the sephirah
Malkuth, which I've more often heard in teachings of the Secret Sanctuary centered at the Body of
Emanation; likewise, in the same teachings the Outer Sanctuary corresponds with the Sacred Circle
(or Church-Body) and the Inner Sanctuary corresponds with Kallah Messiah, for She is the radiant
energy display and life of the Sacred Circle.

Now I'm hearing the teachings on the Body of Emanation altogether differently, for here we're told
that this Body of Emanation is at the Heart Center! What more may be said of the Light Force
actualized from its root in the heart center?

the sacred heart and awareness of the clear light.

by Marion Posted: Sun Nov 13, 2005 9:47 am

Greetings!

There is something about the light of awareness and this association of the heart center with the
clear light. There is the obvious connection by the fact that clear light is a synonymous term with
pure radiant awareness. But how is this so? And why is the clear light specifically associated with
the heart, the indwelling Christ and the emanation body? Is it because actually, the realization of
the clear light and pure radiant awareness is what transforms a karmic body into an emanation
body? So that without the clear light realized in the heart and emanation body, it would be
impossible for it to be integrated into the glory and truth bodies, so it remains in potential there.?
As it has been said,
“For all that arises is reintegrated by the light of awareness.”
There is an image with this statement, of all of the impure emanations from the three lower
centers, the root, navel and solar plexus, when the heart of compassion is opened, are
reintegrated into the light of awareness. So that, upon arising, shades and shadows pop like a
bubble in the mind.

In this light, a teaching was shared last Thursday night about the meaning of compassion.
Compassion is putting the needs of others before ones own. This seems to be speaking of
liberation. For when one acts from a place of compassion, not only are those who come in contact
with this one liberated but the compassionate one is also liberated. This seems to relate to the
above quote and also to why we focus so much on the generation of the sacred heart of
compassion. For it seems that when this is fully generated then one will also have naturally and
spontaneously realized pure radiant awareness, the two seem to go hand and hand. Is this part of
the reason that the clear light is associated with the heart?

Blessings and Shalom!

Shalom!

I have another question that is somewhat related to the last post.

Before it has been said that the clear light is seeing, hearing, smelling, teasting and feeling itself.
it has also been said that the serpent power may be conveyed by any of the sense perceptors e.g
the eyes etc... so is there something here about the clear light in the heart and how when the
descending force awakens the ascending force, they are joined in the heart?

Blessing,

Sacred Heart
by Tau Malachi Posted: Sun Nov 13, 2005 11:03 am

Greetings again, Brother Michael!

Greetings to you as well, Sister Marion. I'll have to get to your angle of questions later, as I'd
already written this response before I read your posts.

When we are able to abide in Primordial Contemplation, and our meditation deepens and shifts
towards fruition, the Great Vision naturally and spontaneously arises – it is the radiant display of
the Nature of Mind self-liberating, arising according to the Natural State. The Sound-Vibration,
Light and Rays are the first appearance, then geometrical patterns, and then forms or images
appear – Palaces of Light and the Light Kingdom. It is the emanation of the Glory Body from within
the Truth Body, the Pure Vision of the Enlightened Ones, the Order of Melchizedek.

This Light-continuum, and the Light-presence and Light-power arising from it, are beyond space-
time, and are supernal or supramental, beyond the mental consciousness; it is the direct
perception of the World of Supernal Light – The Clear Light Nature corresponds to the Supernals,
the Sound-Vibration corresponds to Tiferet of Atzilut, the appearance of Lights and Rays
corresponds to Yesod of Atzilut, and the Light Kingdom that appears corresponds to Malkut of
Atzilut. Thus, it is a Vision of the Universe of Pure Emanation, filled with countless Light Realms
and Light Worlds, and a Great Luminous Assembly of Divine and Enlightened Beings.

It is beyond the Matrix of Creation, or fields of sentient existence, beyond the heavens, earths and
hells, and all realms and worlds in-between; hence the Gnostic term “Pleroma of Light” – Fullness
of Light, which transcends the Entirety.

This is the radiant display of the Ain Nature of Mind, Consciousness or Soul, emerging from the self-
generating or self-begetting capacity, Ain Sof, and is the arising of Ain Sof Or according to the
Primordial State, the Natural State, free from all karmic condition.

To abide in the Presence of Awareness, mindful and alert, in the Union of Clear Light – hence, the
Non-dual Gnostic Awareness, and be able to perceive the arising of the Great Vision, is the most
subtle and sublime level of meditation. Yet, even if we are not able to fully maintain this most
subtle and sublime level of Primordial Contemplation, if our interior senses are open, and
sufficiently purified and cultivated, and our subtle energy is awakened, and sublimated and
uplifted, we can perceive the Light Kingdom or the Glory Body Dimension, just as we are able to
perceive the metaphysical dimensions of the Universes of Creation, Formation and Making.
However, the Vision of the Light Kingdom is something more than the psychic vision of the
metaphysical dimensions of the Matrix or Entirety, for it is Supernal or Supramental.

It is from the Holy Tzaddikim or Enlightened Beings of the Light Kingdom that all teachings of
enlightenment and liberation emanate, as though streams of Light Transmission that form Gates of
Light and Paths of Light through which beings may enter into the Light Kingdom. Just as the
generation of Glory Bodies and Emanation Bodies are the active expression of the Sacred Heart of
Love and Compassion of the Holy Tzaddikim or Enlightened Ones, so also are the countless streams
of Light Transmission, the teachings and methods that lead sentient beings to the realization of the
ultimate truth. Indeed, it is the Light of Awareness, the Light of Love and Compassion shining forth
– the holy desire for the happiness of all living spirits and souls. This is the Great Work, the Great
Gesture, of the Order of Melchizedek – the Order of Primordial Enlightenment.

In just the same way that the Great Vision and the appearance of the Light Kingdom are the
natural and spontaneous arising of the Energy and Awareness of Mind self-liberated, so also is the
arising of the Sacred Heart of Christ Melchizedek – the Sacred Heart of Love and Compassion.
Abiding in the Non-dual Gnostic Awareness – Pure Radiant Awareness, knowing oneself inseparable
from all beings appearing in the Entirety (or fields of sentient existence), quite naturally love and
compassion arises. One experiences the profound peace and perfect joy of Christ, and one is aware
of the great sorrow and suffering of beings – the Sacred Heart is manifest and one is moved to
active love and compassion. This is the motivation of Enlightened Beings.

As much as seeking to recognize and realize the ultimate truth of the Bornless Nature, we seek to
realize the Sacred Heart, for they are inseparable – they are one and the same. Realizing the
Sacred Heart, we realize the Bornless Nature and realizing the Bornless Nature, we realize the
Sacred Heart. Thus, it is said that the root of the Clear Light Nature, this Light-presence and Light-
power, is in the Heart Center.

The actual experience of our innate interconnection and interdependence with all beings is
integral to our realization of the Nature of Mind and our innate unity with the Source of All Being –
therefore, many practices aim at the generation of the Sacred Heart, and repeatedly in Sophian
practices we envision the Spiritual Sun within and behind our Heart, this Light-indweller.

The Way of Melchizedek is the inmost essence of the Way of Transformation, though in the Way of
Melchizedek there is nothing to transform, for taking the Great Perfection as the Path, through
simple recognition, everything is naturally and spontaneously self-liberated, reintegrated into the
Natural State. Thus, we look directly into the Nature of Mind and abide in Primordial
Contemplation, allowing the Light of Awareness to shine, without attachment or aversion. The Way
of Transformation is very similar to this, except we actively transform whatever arises according to
the Vision of the Truth and Light. In the Way of Transformation we bring the Entirety into Union
with the Pleroma, but in the Way of Melchizedek we recognize the Non-dual Nature of the Entirety
and Pleroma, and thus recognize the Inner Unity and Perfection of the Entirety.

There are three basic ways of attainment or realization: the Way of Renunciation, the Way of
Transformation and the Way of Perfection (or Way of Self-liberation). In our society and culture, in
these times, the Way of Renunciation will not prove very effective for many, for our society and
culture does not facilitate or support it, and in the midst of the dazzling false lights it only serves
to create unnecessary struggle, and few are truly inclined to it. Thus, the Way of Transformation or
Way of Perfection is the best way for us; the Way of Perfection being ideal for us, if the necessary
capacity is present. Even if we practice in the Way of Transformation, the implanting of the Light
Seed of the Great Perfection is very beneficial – for taking the Goal as the Path is integral to both
the Way of Transformation and Way of Perfection.

All three ways share in common the generation of the Sacred Heart of Love and Compassion – as
they lead to the same realization, ultimately, they are equal to one another and are the same in
essence and nature on an absolute level. Yet, on a relative level they are distinct, for the Way of
Transformation and Way of Perfection are “Thunderbolt Paths” of swift enlightenment – three to
seven lifetimes by the Way of Transformation, and potentially one lifetime by the Way of
Perfection.

In the Way of Transformation, whatever appears, inwardly or outwardly, transform into the Light
Kingdom and the Person of Light (the King or Queen of Righteousness); in the Way of Perfection,
recognize the Light Kingdom within and all around you, all in the True Light – either way, look and
see the truth, and it will set you free! Hallelu Yah!

At the same time, whether by Way of Transformation or by Way of Perfection, generate the Sacred
Heart of Christ Melchizedek – this is the expression of freedom, enlightenment and liberation!
Hallelu Yah!

May we abide in our Perfection, all in the Risen Christ. Amen.

Shabbat Shalom!

Energy & Awareness, the Serpent Power

by Tau Malachi Posted: Mon Nov 14, 2005 9:45 am

Greetings Sister Marion!

When Light-bearers enter into the realms, worlds and universes of sentient existence via the
Emanation Body it is a movement of compassion – this is indicated by the set of teachings and
practices that associates the Emanation Body with the Heart Center. It also implies that by the
opening of the Sacred Heart our own body and life may be transformed into a Body of Emanation –
that the opening of the Sacred Heart is the very essence of all authentic spirituality.

You point to something very interesting when you speak about the descending and ascending forces
of the Serpent Power, my friend, for it is the expression of the third quality of the Nature of Mind,
Ain Sof Or – the root of the energetic or radiant display. The descending force corresponds with
Awareness and the ascending force corresponds with Energy – of course, these apparent two forces
are One Force, but in the dualistic condition, as we have stated, Energy can occur apart from
Awareness. This is well reflected in premature awakenings of the Serpent Power (ascending force),
when the descending force is not in place; hence, without the cultivation of the Presence of
Awareness. The Energy aspect will arise according to karmic conditioning and can as easily be
wrathful as blissful, hellish rather the heavenly. Apart from the Presence of Awareness and
recognition of the Nature of Mind, the awakening of the Serpent Power is not enlightenment or
liberation, but it can be quite the opposite. This Serpent Power must be directed to the generation
of the Presence of Awareness and the Sacred Heart, and through Awareness and Compassion it is
either transformed or self-liberated.

Yes, indeed, Energy and Awareness are joined in the Sanctuary of the Sacred Heart – compassion
being the radiant display of the Energy arising in its Natural State.
Practices in the Way of Transformation may give us some insight into the play of the Serpent Power
in the three modes of the Energy. In many practices of this way we generate a Palace of Lights, the
central Partzuf (image of an Enlightened or Divine Being), along with other enlightened and/or
divine beings. When this generation phase is stabilized, we then shift inward, generating a matrix
within the subtle body of channel-ways, centers, energy flows, along with internally visualized
images. When this is stabilized, we then seek to unite the interior and exterior magical display –
merging with the Partzuf of the Palace of Lights. This is a practice in the Glory Body dimension –
the energy dimension.

This is a practice of the union of the energy modes of Salt and Sulfur at the level of the Body of
Glory – the emptiness from which the images of the meditation arises and abide, and into which
they are dissolved, is the Truth Body, and the energy mode of Mercury.

In much the same way as the Great Vision arises naturally and spontaneously, in the fruition stage
of such a practice the Palace of Light and Partzuf arise naturally and spontaneously, and the Union
transpires without effort – for it is an actual expression of the Glory Body dimension; hence, the
Light Kingdom (World of Supernal Light).

This form of practice is integrated into daily living by seeing all environments as the Palace of
Lights of the Partzuf; hearing all sound-vibration of the Living Word (or Chant) of the Partzuf; and
recognizing all thoughts and emotions arising as the Innate Wisdom display of the Partzuf – oneself
abiding in Union, as the Partzuf.

The Palace of Lights and Partzuf are the radiant display of the Serpent Power manifest with the
Presence of Awareness; of course, this is true of everything arising in our experience – it is a
radiant display that can be transformed at any time, just as it can be self-liberated at any time.

From one wisdom tradition to another the symbolic forms may differ, but the Essence, Nature and
Energy are the same, and the underlying Truth and Light are the same; the appearance assumes
the form that the mind or soul-stream gazing relates with.

What do these Palaces and Partzufim correspond to? They correspond to various forms of thought
and emotion arising according to their intrinsic nature, freed from karmic conditioning. Essentially,
utilizing such forms in meditation allows a vital heart-connection which makes it easier for the
practitioner to consciously direct her or his Desire-Energy through the Presence of Awareness –
hence, it is skillful means of transforming Energy and bringing it into Union with Awareness.

Of course, if we can recognize the Essence, Nature and Energy as It Is (non-dual), allowing it to
self-liberate, there is nothing to transform.

Whatever it takes, may we experience the Great Liberation, all according to the Perfect Grace
of Mother Sophia, amen.

Blessings & shalom!

Serpent and Dove

by Elder Gideon Posted: Fri Nov 18, 2005 6:23 pm

Shalom Tau Malachi!

While studying and contemplating these principles, an entirely new view opens up of famous and
often-quoted moments from canonical Gospels, such as Yeshua sending out the Twelve in Matthew,
saying:

Be as wise as serpents and as innocent as doves.

This is very compelling within the context of the Melchizedek teachings, for what is meant by
serpent and what is meant by dove are not merely literary or cultural symbols but potentially
direct our awareness to the Essence, Nature and Energy of the Mind.

What more may be drawn out from this advise of the Savior in this context of Melchizedek
teachings?

Gratefully,

Brothersmiley

Serpent & Dove

by Tau Malachi Posted: Sat Nov 19, 2005 12:16 pm

Greetings Brother Michael!

There are many teachings on the meaning of the serpent and dove within the lineage, but in terms
of the Melchizedek teachings there is a specific interpretation given – the serpent and dove
correspond to the third quality of the Nature of Mind, Ain Sof Or (Infinite Light), which is Energy
and Awareness. The energy, of course, corresponds to the serpent; specifically to the ascending
force of the serpent power and red mother seed. Awareness corresponds to the dove; specifically
to the descending force of the serpent power and white father seed. These two are, in reality, non-
dual, and are one and the same energy-intelligence (Light-power).

When the Nature of Mind is recognized, and we look and see the Ain Nature of all that arises, what
arises is the Innate Wisdom Display of the Primordial State (Enlightenment) – hence, the “wise
serpent.” The Presence of Awareness is the same in repose or movement, whether in the calm
state without thoughts or in the midst of the arising of thoughts – a Silent Witness, hence the
“innocent dove.”

When Master Yeshua says this in the Gospel of St. Matthew he is sending the disciples out to teach
and initiate others – hence, setting them in motion. This indicates the need to integrate the
presence of awareness into movement, into all activities, so that awareness is not only present
when we sit in meditation, but the Primordial Contemplation extends throughout all activities of
life – thus, all activities are naturally and spontaneously self-liberated. Essentially, we wish to
integrate the non-dual recognition into all that appears, external or internal; hence, integrate the
presence of awareness into repose and movement – this is the Way of Melchizedek, the Way of the
Great Perfection.

Of course, this assumes the non-dual recognition is in place – if it is not, then we enact the Way of
Transformation until direct recognition is in place so that we may practice it. As much as speaking
about the Way of Perfection, this saying on the serpent and dove also indicates the Way of
Transformation – the transformation of the relative sphere into the absolute sphere. When the Non-
Dual Gnostic Awareness is present, however, there is nothing to transform or correct, for we
recognize the relative and absolute as inseparable from one another; hence “non-dual
recognition.”

What is the nature of this non-dual recognition? It is recognizing all that appears as an innate
display of your Clarity – the radiant display of the Nature of Mind, Consciousness or Soul. This is
wisdom, and it is innocent – free from karmic conditioning.

It is said that Master Yeshua was “without sin.” Perhaps in this we gain some insight into what this
might mean.

(In terms of the Way of Transformation, consider the Grail & Dove Meditation.)

May we abide in the Perfect Peace and Joy of the Risen Savior – Christ Melchizedek, amen.
Blessings & shalom!

the serpent power and the elements.

I am wondering, Does the serpent power connect to the elements, and if so, How?

by Kat Posted: Mon Nov 28, 2005 11:36 am

Shalom Malachi,

It is also interesting the statement "mingling as in adultery" in the verse you mentioned at the
beginning of the post in relationship to the elements. When you were talking about pure elements,
I was thinking of this statement and the virgin births you were commenting on in symbolism on
Shabbat. I wonder if this ties to Marions question in any way?

Serpent & Elements

by Tau Malachi Posted: Mon Nov 28, 2005 5:06 pm

Greetings Marion & Kat!

The serpent power is the force of being-consciousness; hence, it is energy-intelligence. This force
of consciousness is innate to the primordial ground and arises as the essential and fundamental
elements of consciousness, and is strongly linked with the white father seed in the crown center
and red mother seed in the root center – hence, consciousness itself, and the element of space.
Essentially, the serpent power is the manifestation of the Light-force in the individual, which is the
Great Light-force that flows throughout the universal or entirety – the One Life-power.

The elements arise from within space element, and are the basic display of this energy-
intelligence; thus, the serpent power and the elements of consciousness are inseparable from one
another – if one masters the serpent power in oneself, purifying and sublimating it, and uplifting it
into repose or cessation, then one will master the Life-power within the radiant display we call
“reality.” This is reflected, for example, in the resurrection of the dead that great adepts and
masters have performed, and other significant wonderworking acts.

As we have said, the descending force of the serpent power is associated with intelligence or
awareness and the ascending force is associated with energy – specifically desire-energy. When the
energy is fully integrated with awareness, it arises as perfect joy, immeasurable bliss, apart from
any subject/object relationship – hence, apart from any object of desire. This is perfect
satisfaction, perfect fulfillment, for this alone is a lasting or abiding delight without end – innate
joy of pure being.

In the unenlightened condition, on account of fundamental ignorance – dualism, desire-energy is

manifest in the delusion of subject and object, and thus there is a “mingling as in adultery,” for
we grasp at the object of desire as though it had an independent and substantial self-existence
separate and apart from us, and as though it could give us lasting satisfaction. This, of course, is
the cause of much sorrow and suffering, and our relative bondage.
In truth, all that appears is the radiant display of the mind, consciousness or soul, and we are
inseparable from that which appears; hence, the non-dual recognition. Thus, from the perspective
of the absolute reality, sin has never existed. Yet, on account of dualism in consciousness, from the
perspective of the relative reality, sin is created because we “mingle as in adultery.” In the view of
the non-dual recognition we perceive the ultimate truth of the inseparability of the absolute and
relative sphere – the pleroma and entirety, and thus whatever arises self-liberates naturally and
spontaneously, without need for renunciation, correction or transformation. This assumes that the
non-dual recognition is actually in place, however, and that we have the necessary presence of
awareness, so that the energy and awareness are reintegrated. If it is not in place, then according
to necessity in the relative sphere there will be a need for either renunciation or transformation,
all according to what is happening and what is skillful.

The natural and spontaneous arising of the Great Vision – the radiant display of the elements in
their innate purity, corresponds to the generation of the Body of Glory and Emanation Body, and to
the attainment of the Rainbow Body or Body of the Resurrection and Ascension. This is the result of
the serpent power sublimated, directed inward and upward, and brought into repose or cessation.

A great adept or master who has accomplished this attainment can spontaneously generate a Body
of Emanation in what may seem to be miraculous ways. For example, it is possible that such a
realized being could emanate directly into a womb apart from typical conception; hence, generate
an immaculate conception and be born of a virgin birth. In fact, there are stories of enlightened
masters entering into incarnation in this very way in other wisdom traditions besides the Christian
tradition – the legends told of the Dzogchen master, Garab Dorje, are one example. While in outer
Sophian teachings the idea of immaculate conception and virgin birth may be negated, in order to
negate the conceptual obstructions created by dogmatic creed and doctrine, at the level of the
inmost secret teachings the possibility is taken up again, based upon Gnosis of Melchizedek.

In a similar manner, such a realized individual could project their mind or soul-stream into
incarnation at the instant of conception in a womb, and generate an Emanation Body in this way –
and it would really be no different than by way of immaculate conception, save that the sign of
wonder of an immaculate conception could serve to bolster the faith of those surrounding the
event. Likewise, such a realized being could emanate into a person already incarnate and merged
with them at the level of mind, voice or body; or they could generate a spontaneous emanation
apart from any apparent ground, such as a womb or an incarnate person – there are many
possibilities at this level of self-realization.

This is quite different than the incarnations of unenlightened sentient beings, for unenlightened
beings are unconsciously compelled by their previous karma, driven into rebirth by habitual desires
and fears, which are the result of self-grasping. Though some teachings in the new age movement
might speak of a conscious choice or “contract,” in truth, only a realized individual who free from
karmic conditioning enters into incarnation by a conscious choice – their motivation being love and
compassion, the desire to help liberate sentient beings from their relative bondage.

Entering into incarnation is much the same as the arising of dream from dreamless sleep. Generally
speaking, dreams arise from the unconsciousness and are the expression of habitual patterns of
thought and emotion – desires and fears, and a person does not choose their dreams in the least. In
the same way, on account of ignorance (dualism), sentient beings enter into incarnation – by
unconscious compulsion. This is not the case with enlightened beings or light-bearers, however; for
them it is a choice to enter on account of love and compassion.

We may believe that the divine incarnation is something of the past, but according to masters of
the tradition, tzaddikim and maggidim live and move among us in every generation – the divine
incarnation is perpetually ongoing among us. Hallelu Yah!

May we be blessed to abide in the holy company of the great luminous assembly of tzaddikim
and maggidim, all in the Presence of Yahweh; amen.

Blessings & shalom!
