A healthy diet:
There are foods we should eat regularly to stay healthy.

We need:
Proteins In food such as eggs, milk and cheese.

Carbohydrates In pasta, bread an cereals.


Fats In foods such as butter and cooking oil.
Fibre In vegetables, fruit and cereals.

Why is the Grain Group important?


- The Grain Group is an important part of our daily diet because it provides us whit the important
Carbohydrates and Fiber that we need.
-CARBOHYDRATES: our body use it to produce energy thath we need to be active.
-FIBER: is important for regular digestion and can help decrease the risk of the certain cancers.
-IRON: it carries oxygen to all parts of the body.
-VITAMIN "B": it helps in the use and release of the body. It mantain the healthy in blood, skin and
nervous system.

The Fruit Group

Why is the Fruit Group important?


-The Fruit Group is important becauase it contains a variety of vitamins and nutrients that are important
for the bodies health. VITAMIN "A" and "C"
-Enery fruit has a different amount of these nutrients so it is important eat a variety each day.
-VITAMIN "A" and "C": are important because they help heal cuts, they hepl night vision. VITAMIN "C" is
very beneficial to your immune system.
-Every fruit is a source of FIBER.
-FIBER: is important for regular digestion and can help decrease the risk of the certain cancers.
-All fruits are naturally low in fat!

Vegetable Group

Why is the Vegetable Group important?

-The Vegetable Group is important because it contains a variety of vitamins and nutrients that are
important for the bodies health. VITAMIN "A" and "C".
-Every Vegetable has a different amount of these nutrients so it is important eat a variety each day.
-VITAMIN "A" and "C": are important because they help heal cuts, they hepl night vision. VITAMIN "C" is
very beneficial to your immune system.
-Every vegetable is a source of FIBER.

-Except for avocados and olives, all vegetables are naturally low in fat.

The Milk Group

Why is the Dairy group Important?


-The Dairy Group is important because of its main nutrient, Calcium, which is essential fo keeping your
bones and teeth stronng and healty.
-For childern between 9-18 ages , Calcium eaten builds almost half of the bone mass needed.
-As the bones grow and become denser and stronger, they store extra calcium that is needed for the rest
of ones life.
-Calcium is very important for adults who need to prevent deseases such as Osteoporosis which thins and
damages the bones.
-It also helps in regulating blood pressure and may reduce the risk of colon cancer.
-The Dairy Group also contains important nutrients such as VITAMIN "D", "A", "B12", potassium and
protein.
The Meat Group
Why is the Meat Group important?
-The Meat Group contains food from both plants and animals, whitch are both important and excellent
sources of both protein and iron.
-Both of this nutrients are very important to child growth.
-PROTEIN: helps build strong muscles and helps to repair body tissue.
-IRON: is used in the red blood cells, caries oxygen to all parts of the body.
-Other nutrients such as Niacin and Thiamin are also provided by the Meat Group.
