Mode of paper: Offline

Selection criteria: UGC has announced a top 15% rule for NET and JRF Exam i.e. UGC allows only highly
talented candidates to emerge as teachers.

Paper 1- Teaching aptitude

Paper 2- Opted subject during application procedure

Paper 3- Opted subject.

#Career options: JRF/Assistant professor, PSU recruitment

Alternative choice for Lectureship aspirants: State level Eligibility Test (SLET)

Eligibility criteria for UGC NET

Age Limit

JRF (Junior Research fellow): 28 Years

Assistant Professor: No Upper age limit.

Educational qualifications:

At least 55 percent marks in Master’s degree

Candidates who have appeared or will be appearing for the Master’s degree final year examination.
Paper Pattern:
Paper 1

Question type: Objective

No. of questions: 60

Minimum no. of questions to be attempted: 50

If you attempt more than 50 question: First 50 questions will be considered for evaluation

Paper 1 is all about: Teaching aptitude,reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general
awareness.

Marks: 2 marks/ question

Total marks: 100

Time allotted: 60 minutes

Paper 2

Question type: Objective

No. of questions: 50

Minimum no. of questions to be attempted: 50 (all are compulsory)

Paper 2 is all about: Subject you opted during application procedure

Marks: 2 marks/ question

Total marks: 100

Time allotted: 75 minutes

Paper 3

Question type: Objective

No. of questions: 75

Minimum no. of questions to be attempted: all are compulsary

Paper 3 is all about: Subject you opted during application procedure

Marks: 2 marks/ question

Total marks: 150

Time allotted: 2.5 hours.
