    1.) An idealized ammeter is connected to a battery as shown in the figure below. Find
    a. The reading of the ammeter
    b. The current through the 4-Ω resistor
    c. The terminal voltage of the battery

    2.) For the circuit shown below, both meters are idealized, the battery has no appreciable internal resistance, and the
    ammeter reads 1.25 A.
    a. What does the voltmeter read?
    b. What is the emf of the battery?

    3.) Consider the circuit below.

    A. Calculate the effective resistance, RXY, between Points X and Y.


    B. Calculate the effective resistance, RPQ, between Points P and Q.
    C. Calculate the current, passing through each resistor.
    D. Calculate the voltage drop across each resistor.
    E. Calculate the power dissipated by each resistor.
