DETAILED LESSON PLAN

BASIC CALCULUS
February 6, 2018/ 12:30-2:30

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to:
1. state the theorem in finding the antiderivative of a function.
2. compute the antiderivative of a function.
3. participate in the class discussion.

II. Content
Content Standard: The learner demonstrates an understanding of
antiderivatives and Riemann integral.

Performance Standard: The learners shall be able to formulate and

solve accurately situational problems involving population models.

Learning Competency: Compute the general antiderivative of

polynomial, radical, exponential and trigonometric functions
(STEM_BC11I-Iva-b-1).

IV. Procedure
- Daily routine
- Presentation of objectives

A. Priming/Motivation
Recall the exponent rules through 5 questions (powerpoint).

B. Activity
The class will be divided into six groups. Each group will answer
the given worksheet through the help of a video. Students must
take down important concepts in the video. Groups 1-3 will
answer numbers 1, 5, 9 and 13 while Groups 4-6 will answer
numbers 2, 6, 10 and 14. (See attached worksheet -
https://cdn.kutasoftware.com/Worksheets/Calc/05%20-
%20Integration%20Power%20Rule.pdf).
The teacher will give time to compare the works of groups 1-3
and groups 4-6. After several minutes, a representative of each
group will explain their work depending on the number assigned
by their teacher.

C. Analysis
Highlight the results of the activity by asking the students the
following questions.
1. What is the result of your activity?
2. How will you compare your result to the other groups?
3. How did you get the answer for each number?
4. How did you find the activity?
5. What can you say about the video?
6. What are the important concepts in the video?
7. What do you think is our lesson for today?

D. Abstraction
The teacher will discuss the power rule in finding the
antiderivative of a function based on the video. (powerpoint)

E. Application
Group Game – 5 questions for 30 seconds. (from Basic
Calculus pp. )

F. Assessment
Quiz (5 items) – Modified true or false.
