T"ke the following steps to inst"ll Windows on your M"c using " Microsoft

Windows inst"ll"tion DVD or "n .iso disc im"ge file.

Step 1: Get A Copy of Microsoft Windows

Step 2: Cre8te 8 new virtu8l m8chine

St"rt P"r"llels Desktop Lite "nd click on File in the "pplic"tion menu, "nd then
select New.

Click Inst8ll Windows or 8nother OS from DVD or im8ge file, then

click Continue.

Step 3: Select the inst8ll8tion medi8

You m"y inst"ll Windows from " DVD or "n .iso disc im"ge, or " boot"ble USB
drive.
Import8nt: Windows inst"ll"tion files with "n .exe extension c"n be used only
to upgr"de "n existing Windows virtu"l m"chine (VM). If you "re performing "
new inst"ll to cre"te " new Windows VM, the .exe inst"ll"tion file will not work.
Ple"se cont"ct " ret"iler to request either " physic"l disc or "n .iso im"ge.
P"r"llels Wiz"rd will detect the inst"ll"tion medi" "utom"tic"lly for inst"lling
Windows.
You c"n "lso switch to m"nu"l mode "nd choose the source for Windows
inst"ll"tion.

Step 4: Enter your Windows product key

Click Continue. In the Windows Product Key window, le"ve Express
inst8ll8tion selected.
Note: If you uncheck Express inst"ll"tion, you will need to inst"ll P"r"llels Tools
m"nu"lly "fter the Windows inst"ll"tion.
When you "re re"dy, click Continue.
Step 5: Select how you w8nt to use Windows
Select how you w"nt to use Windows in P"r"llels Desktop for M"c:
● Productivity
● G"mes only

Step 6: Specify 8 n8me 8nd loc8tion

N8me: You m"y specify " n"me for your virtu"l m"chine.
Loc8tion: The def"ult loc"tion for P"r"llels Desktop virtu"l m"chines is /Users/
usern(me/Documents/P(r(llels.
If you w"nt to ch"nge your def"ult virtu"l m"chine settings select Customize
settings before inst8ll8tion. These settings c"n "lso be ch"nged e"sily "fter
inst"ll"tion.
Step 7: Begin the inst8ll8tion
Click Continue "nd Windows inst"ll"tion will begin. Once Windows is inst"lled,
l"unch it by opening " Windows "pplic"tion or by clicking the Power button in
the P"r"llels virtu"l m"chines list.
Import8nt: The first time you st"rt Windows, P"r"llels Tools will be inst"lled to
"llow se"mless oper"tion between Windows "nd OS X. Ple"se do not c"ncel or
stop the inst"ll"tion process. Once the P"r"llels Tools "re inst"lled, you will be
prompted to rest"rt Windows.
Troubleshooting
If you h"ve "ny problems inst"lling Windows from " DVD, or if you don't h"ve "
DVD drive, you c"n use "nother drive to cre"te "n .iso im"ge "nd inst"ll from
