Towhom it may concern,
{tis my view after being a school principal for thiy-five years, that the mest essential
«qualification fr being a teacher is 2 love for children, itis here where foundati
‘mage and where human relationships are developed. When kids sense that you cre and that you will
accept nothing les than their best, they wil follow you, We need teachers who understand that they
are not there to teach a curriculum, nor to provide 2 defined time of instruction. Teachers teach
children, and use whatever meets the need todo so.
Mrs. Johanna Davis jst such a teacher. Iwatched her deliver instruction for seven years and
the is capable and killed in doing zo, What defines her however ls 3 pecial abt to reach the child
who, for whatever reason, is struggling in school. The child in whose way ar obstacles to being a
successful learner There ae students inal classrooms wh can leatn from anyone and will achieve
regardless of en Individual teacher's effort Mrs. Davis dda great ob with these ks. However, tis with
those kids who hadn't seen success or who weren't supposed to achleve where saw those intangibles
that make a teacher great. Mrs. Davis actvey sought, and found ways tobe a diference maker in their
ves. She is not one to give up ona child for any reason and you would be grateful to have heron your
faculty.
| mentioned earlier that | supervised Mrs. Davis for seven years. Its noteworthy to mention that
‘not only did she teach during that period of time, but she continued learning as wll.She took courses,
she sought advice from her peers where needed, and she came to me with questions, allinan effort to
be the best teacher posible.
Not once was sorry that hired Mrs. Davs to workin our school and | enthusiastically
recommend her to you. -
| would be more than pleased to ffer any assistance you might deem appropriate as you
