1 LA error or CHA/FCA blockade due to CHK2 and CMG setting failure

Contents Phenomenon 1:
1. With I/O executed to LDEV for Cruise Control or Quick Restore, a CHK2 occurred. As a
result, any of the following occurred.
- LA error occurred
- WCHK1 occurred because the CHK2 exceeded its threshold, and CHA was blocked
- FCA within DKA was blocked
2. Before Cruise Control or Quick Restore was operated, an I/O was issued to an LDEV under
the operation, and the data inconsistency occurred.

Phenomenon 2:
The configuration for the cache memory to be resident (Cache Manager Utility) differed from
the setting made by the mainframe host. As a result, the I/O performance degraded or setting for
cache memory to be resident failed before maximum number of settings was reached.
Conditions The problem occurs with all the following conditions met.
Any of the following maintenance operations is in progress.
- PDEV installation or un-installation
- CVS operation
- During operation in #1, SWAP or Host DCR performed for Phenomenon 1 or 2 respectively

Either of the following conditions met.

- After #2), the Maintenance window is opened, and Upload of the configuration is performed
- After #2), Upload of the configuration is performed for the maintenance pre-check
Note When performing a maintenance operation under the above conditions with DKCMAIN version
21-14-41-00/00 or higher, make sure SVP version must be 21-14-16/00 or higher. Otherwise,
the maintenance operation would fail.

2 Inappropriate error message for SI pair creation with MU# already used
Phenomena When creating a SI pair from Storage Navigator by specifying a MU# specified by another SI
pair, the message “Internal logical error” (7005 8525) was output. Because this error message
did not clearly state the factors of the problem, users could not know how to take action for the
issue.
Contents The error message above changed to the following to express that the MU# specified is
duplicated: “The operation failed because the specified MU number was already used. Specify
other MU numbers.” (7010 58711)
Conditions The problem occurs with all the following conditions met.
1. Open the SI window from Storage Navigator (hereinafter “SI window”)
2. Create SI pair from Raid Manager by specifying P-VOL LDEV#A, S-VOL LDEV#B, and
MU#N (N=0,1,2)
3. Without clicking the Refresh button in the SI window, perform a PAIRCREATE operation by
specifying P-VOL LDEV#A, S-VOL LDEV#C (C not = B), and MU#N from SI window
