DIRECTIONS: Administer this test individually to students. Introduce the test by saying, “I am going
to say a word. I want you to listen carefully. I am going to say a sound and I want you to tell me if the
sound is in the word.
Practice Items: Help the child understand what she needs to do by giving examples.
Test Items: Read each word. Then ask whether the sound you said is found in the word. Allow the
student to respond. Tick the item if the student answered correctly.
