I tend to use these as a default because many of

my students are unable to access any web pages
beyond the short list approved by the public
schools. They can, however, use the apps in
google because it is provided to them through the
Google Suite Apps www.google.com college.
I use Zoom to record announcements, clarify
assignment instructions, provide additional
instruction, as well as record videos for students
Zoom www.zoom.com and meet one-on-one or with groups.

A communication tool that allows teachers to send

updates, announcements, and reminders in a text
message to students. It doesn't require sharing
Remind www.remind.com phone numbers across the class.

A game based learning app. Allows the teacher to

design questions to promote interactive learning.
Students can also make their own accounts and
Kahoot www.kahoot.com design questions to assess their groups.

This tool is great for collecting real time data in

the classroom. There are various ways to collect
information, such as bar graphs or word clouds.
It's a fun way to start conversations. I use it to
assess knowledge of a topic before a lecture and
Poll Everywhere www.polleverywhere.com at the end of a lesson.

This tool allows the teacher (or student) to make

their power point/lecture/discussion more
personable. You can record a lesson or an
example to share with the class. This is great for
online classes, but can be used to extend the
learning beyond the classroom. This is a great
way to help students who missed a concepts or
Voice Thread https://voicethread.com/ who are struggling with the concept.

I use this to randomly select student group

leaders, presenters, or orders. I find that the
random nature removes pressure from me and
helps students to not feel singled out when they
Name Picker https://www.classtools.net/random-name-picker/
are called on.
A way to promote asking questions in class in an
anonymous format. This is especially useful when
students are just getting to know each other.
Padlet www.padlet.com Obviously, some rules must be applied.

Many different assessments, quizzes, polls, and

games can be created and in a variety of formats
(MC, T/F, short answer). May request feedback
and share it Reports from Socrative is saved in
the teacher's account, which can be emailed or
Socrative www.socrative.com saved in google.
This is a fun way to ask questions and get student
responses. This is a great way to make learning
more live. I like to use this when discussions run
over and to allow everyone a chance to share
FlipGrid www.flipgrid.com their ideas.

Allows students to provide peer to peer feedback

based on the rubrics and assignment
requirements. I use this as a graded assignment,
but overall student performance often improves
Peer grade https://www.peergrade.io/ when they provide feedback to another student.

Allows the instructor to make adjustments to the

course in Blackboard from a mobile device (this
cannot be done by accessing blackboard in
Safari, due to space). Students can also work in
groups and sae their work in Blackboard, our
Blackboad http://www.blackboard.com/mobile-learning/blackboard-app.html
LMS.
