A MESSAGE FROM OUR GOVERNOR

Dear Brothers and Sisters:

Hola fellow Claymonsters. Finally, some warm weather. I hope everyone has safe and
enjoyable holiday parties, carnivals, holy communions and graduation parties.

First off, I would like to congratulate the Claymont Moose Lodge 847 and Chapter 186 for
increasing their membership during the past Moose International fiscal year. The Lodge now has 306
members, while the Chapter is up to 233 members. This is extremely difficult to do for an all volunteer
organization in this day and age so we should be proud and hold our heads high!

The other reason we should be proud is because of our Community Service. Not only do we
support our own at Mooseheart and Moosehaven, we support our local organizations as well. The
Brandywine Hundred and Claymont Fire Companies, the Claymont Community Center and local food
banks are all some of the organizations benefiting. However, when disaster happens in our country,
the Moose organization as a whole takes a part in helping out. Since I have been involved, we have
helped victims of hurricanes, tornadoes and floods in Florida, West Virginia, New Jersey and Texas.

Our MD-DE-DC Association will be taking the lead in helping the community of Ellicott City, MD,
which was devastated by flooding over the holiday weekend. There will be a Go Fund Me link on our
website, mdmoose.org, as well as donation information. They need cleaning supplies and water!!
Our Moose will have information posted as well. Let’s help these people out and feel good about
doing it!! More information to come.
Fraternally,
Andy Zeager
A MESSAGE FROM OUR SENIOR REGENT

Dear Brothers and Co-Workers:

It is a privilege and honor to serve as your Senior Regent once again. I look
forward to the upcoming months and all the activities we have planned. To
mention just a few, we will have our annual chicken barbeque, clam bake and crab
feast, not to mention several of our wonderful Friday night steak nights. Please
read through the Newsletter for the times and dates for these as well as many
other activities planned.

I would like to extend my gratitude and thanks to our Officers, Committee

Chairmen, and all who have volunteered, for your hard work in making this past
year a great one. I want to highlight volunteers because they are the ‘doers’ who
enable us to make planned activities a success.
So, I want to ask everyone to consider volunteering your time to help make this
coming year a success as well. In addition to the planned activities you will see in
the Newsletter, we can always
use help with our standard food offerings like Thursday night sandwiches or
Friday night dinners. Whether it’s preparing or serving food, selling tickets, or
cleaning up, help is welcome for all functions big and small. Please speak to any
of our officers or bar staff, if you feel you can lend a hand.

On a final note, a reminder that our Chapter meetings are held on the
second and fourth Monday of the month at 6:30 P.M. and ALL our WOTM members
are welcome to attend. Although we have some tried and true fundraisers, we are
always looking for new ideas. Please join as and bring your ideas and suggestions
to help make our Chapter a success and enable us to continue our support of our
children at Mooseheart and our seniors as Moosehaven.
In Faith, Hope, and Charity,
Clare Leonard
