- Official sea trial to be carried out in the presence of the class surveyor and owner's
representatives according to the scheme which based on the contract specification
and rules of classification society.
- The sea trial should be carried out at the condition of less than beaufort 2.
- The test results from the trial to be recorded at the sheets attached herewith.

Prior to sea trial, ship's draft to be checked by naked eye at each draft mark positions,
in the presence of Owner's Representative and Classification Surveyor.

A. Measurement to be taken for the followings.


- Specific Gravity of sea water.
- Temperature at Atmosphere.
- Temperature at Sea water.

The displacement of the vessel to be calculated by draft measurement, and a correction


by the specific gravity of the sea water to be taken into consideration in this calculation.

(1) Test purpose


This test is to make an assessment of the guaranteed speed performance as per the
specification.
(2) Test method
It shall be carried out at the RPM with 3% propeller margin corresponding 50%, 75%,
90% and 100% of MCR of main engine as per the following table.

The vessel shall run a sufficient distance having same heading at the course as to get the
steady speed corresponding to the output of main engine, prior to entering into measured
course.

Sea condition shall be determined by the true wind velocity obtained from relative wind
velocity and direction.

- The speed of the sea trial to be measured by D.G.P.S

- Power of main engine to be measured by Torque Power Meter

(3) Observation / Measurement


- Base course, test time, depth of sea.
- Velocity and direction of wind, during each run
- Elapsed time for each run over the measured distance to determine speed.
- Main engine condition for each run over the measured distance.
- Clock time at start of each run over the measured distance to identify running.

(1) Test purpose


This test to be carried out to prove the performance of steering gear.

(2) Test method


*. Main steering ;
- When the ship is running ahead with maximum continuous rated shaft rpm, the rudder
will be moved as below, using by No.1 pump and No.2 pump unit separately.

- Steering gear motor is operating with controlling from wheel house.

A. From amidship to 35 deg. Starboard.


B. From 35 deg. Starboard to 35 deg. Port.
C. From 35 deg. Port to 35 deg. Starboard.
D. From 35 deg. Starboard to amidship.

*. E'mergency steering gear test ;


- When the ship is running ahead at the one-half the maximum speed ahead or 7 knots
whichever is the greater, the rudder will be moved as below by manual operating of
No.1 pump or No.2 pump.

A. From amidship to 15 deg. Starboard.


B. From 15 deg. Starboard to 15 deg. Port.
C. From 15 deg. Port to 15 deg. Starboard.
D. From 15 deg. Starboard to amidship.

(3) Observation / Measurement


- Base course, test time, depth of sea.
- Velocity and direction of wind.
- Initial ship's speed.
- Shaft RPM at start and end of test.
- Time required for each rudder movement.
- Maximum rudder angles for rudder movement.
- Mean oil pressure on ram for each rudder movement.
- Steering gear motor's mean amperes for rudder movement
- Maximum ship heeling angle for rudder movement.

(1) Test purpose

This test is designated to demonstrate ship's turning maneuverability and to know


advance, transfer and tactical diameter and necessary time.

(2) Test Condition and Procedures

- The ship has to run to ahead under NCR of main engine.


- The ship to be turned to hard port 35o and hold it until forming a complete circle.
- Return the rudder to mid-ship and hold it as same as steady condition.
- The ship to be turned to hard starboard 35o and hold it until forming a complete circle.
- Check position for the test is in front of gyro compass in the wheel house.

(1) Test purpose


The prove that the main engine is suitable for ship's emergency stop and to know the
time and sailing distance between order of astern under headway(or order of ahead under
going astern) and ship's stop.

(2) Test method

- When the ship is running ahead with 100% MCR on straight course, the main engine is
to be changed from "Full Ahead" to "Full Astern" should be based on engine makers
recommendation.

- And then, with the ship running astern, The main engine to be changed from
"Full Astern" to "Full Ahead" with MCR.
- Astern endurance to be carried out for 10 minutes at a min. speed 0.7 engine
rated speed as per 4-2-1/15-1 vi of the rule.

(3) Observation / Measurement


- Base course, test time.
- Velocity and direction of wind.
- Initial ship's speed.
- Shaft RPM at start and end of test.
- Time of shaft stop and ship stop.

*. Sailing Distance from order to ship stop will be calculated by Computer program.

(1) Test purpose


This test to be carried out to know the time and sailing distance from order of main engine
stop to the ship's speed about three(3) knots.

(2) Test method

- When the ship is running ahead with 100% MCR of main engine, the main engine
Telegraph to be changed to "engine stop".

- Ship's position and time are recorded at constant intervals until ship's speed becomes
about three(3) knots by speed log.

- During the test, The rudder is kept amidship.

(3) Observation / Measurement


- Base course, test time.
- Velocity and direction of wind.
- Initial ship's speed.
- Shaft RPM at start and end of test.
- Ship's speed during the test for 10" interval by speed log.
- Ship's heading angle for 10" interval by gyro compass.
- Time of shaft stop and ship speed three(3) knots.

*. Sailing Distance from order to ship speed three(3) knots will be calculated by ship's speed
and heading angle for 10" interval.

ANCHOR WINDLASS TEST

(1) Test purpose


This test to be carried out to prove the performance of windlass.

(2) Test method


- This test to be carried out in a convenient place, about 82.5 m depth of water.
- The vessel to be headed in to the wind before beginning the test.
- Both anchors shall be kept in position of hanging independently just above the water
level with breakes, Then shall be dropped 3 shackles.
- Each anchor shall be hoist two shackles in respectively at full power of the windlass,
and then both anchor shall be hoist one shackle in simultaneously at full power.

(3) Observation / Measurement


- Base course, test time.
- Velocity and direction of wind.
- Hoisting chain speed.
- Max. pressure & ampere
- Verification that anchor did not touch bottom.
- Chain washing condition.

To know ship's turning maneuverability when a crew fall into the sea.

(2) Test method


- With the ship running ahead at 90% MCR on the steady course, Move the rudder
quickly max. starboard and then hold until ship's heading changes the 30 deg. From
initial course, then move the rudder quickly max. port and use helm order that ship's
heading is opposite to initial course.

(3) Observation / Measurement


- Base course, test time.
- Velocity and direction of wind.
- Shaft RPM at start and end of test.
- Time of each change and holding the rudder angle.
- Ship's speed during the test for 10" interval by speed log.
- Ship's heading angle for 10" interval by gyro compass.

- When the ship is set to the base course, to operate the thruster at full thruster, let the
ship rotate 90 deg. to port and back to the original heading.

back to the original heading again.

This test to be carried out to judge the yaw-stability.

(2) Test method


- When the ship is running ahead at main engine revolution(90%MCR) of main engine
with either steering power unit, The rudder to be quickly as the following maneuvers.
- Midship --> 20 deg.(10 deg.) starboard (Hold until ship's heading is 20 deg.(10 deg.)
to the starboard of the original course).
- 20 deg.(10 deg.) starboard --> 20 deg.(10 deg.) port (Hold until ship's heading is
20 deg.(10deg.) to the port of the original course).
- 20 deg.(10 deg.) port --> 20 deg.(10 deg.) starboard (Hold until ship's original
heading restored)

(3) Observation / Measurement


- Base course, test time.
- Velocity and direction of wind.
- Initial ship's speed.
- Shaft RPM at start and end of test.
- Ship's heading angle for 10" interval by gyro compass.

It is subject to confirmation over IMO resolution A. 468(XII) which is called " Code on
Noise Level Onboard Ships"

This measurement shall be taken by a sound level meter as an instrument at NCR of


Main engine during sea trial under the following conditions.
- Machinery unnecessary for normal navigation to be stopped.
- Mechanical ventilation and air-conditioning equipment to be in normal operation.
- All doors and windows of the rooms to be closed.
- No intermittent sound and noise to be included.
(For example, air horn, sanitary flushing, laundry machine, emergency generator,
telephone, speaker, foot-step noise in stair and corridor space)

The measurement to be taken at a height of 1.2m to 1.6m above deck in the center
of each room, and mean value of graduations on the meter to be taken as the noise
level.

The positions to be checked are the same position for measuring local vibration.

This test shall be carried out to measure the level of vibration of respective compartments
during sea trial condition at NCR of main engine.

The respective compartments to be included accommodation, engine room, and steering


gear room as shown and indicated in the drawings attached.

The vibration levels in accommodation area to be contained within the range of "stippled
zone" as defined by ISO 6954 "Guidelines for the evaluation of vertical and horizontal
vibration in merchant ships".

This test should be carried out when the ship is running with ahead straight course,
and it is restricted to move the rudder as much as possible.

A portable vibration analyzer as an instrument will be used for measuring the level.

performance and the related davit control systems are satisfactory.

(2) Test method


- Rescue boat is launch, where necessary utilizing painters, with the ship making
