a) GENERAL

The Pre-fabricated container substation will be constructed to be handled by Lifting

full, including internal equipment’ by its bottom Eye pads by means of slings without
distortion or effect on its structural integrity.

b) MATERIAL AND CONSTRUCTION

General
The Pre-fabricated container substation is fully welded construction using steel
hollow sections / profiles welded by CO2 shielded Arc welding. Asbestos content
materials are not used in any part of building.
IEC/DIN/BS standards shall be used.

Materials:
The main constructional materials are steel hollow sections / beams / plates. Grades
will be as per structural design calculations.
Material used for construction of the container shall non-inflammable.

Base Structure
The cross members consist of steel beams

Floor Construction
The bottom floor is of 3 MM thick steel plate fully welded on all sides.
Equipment mounting frames are welded to this plate.
Openings for cable entry from bottom provided
Raised floor system is not applicable & not provided
Floor insulated with suitably thick thermal insulation

Top Structure
Top structure is connected to bottom structure using vertical post, quantity
determined during detailed engineering.
Lifting points 4nos, removable type fixed at bottom

Side Walls and Roof / Ceiling

The external side walls are of steel corrugated panels.
Sides / roof insulated with suitably thick thermal insulation
False ceiling is not provided.

Doors
Proprietary external steel doors with suitably thick thermal insulation.

c) SURFACE PROTECTION
Surface Preparation and Painting
All steel components will be sand blasted. A weld-able primer compatible to the paint
system will be applied immediately to preserve the surface integrity during the
assembly process. Slag and spatters are removed by means of grinding or needle
hammers.
Suitable paint coat will be applied on exterior and at interior.

d) Electrical Installations (Interior safe Area):

Lux Calculations for 200lux at working level of 1m with Normal lighting.
Emergency lights will provide 60lux .
Fluorescent lights, quantity as per calculations.
Distribution board for small power and lighting X 1no
Utility sockets x 2nos
Earth boss 2nos – welded to base frame.

e) Fire Detection & Alarm System and Extinguishing System.

Smoke detectors and it’ accessories as per NFPA standards
Manual call points / Sounder & Beacons
FACP in switchgear Room

f) HVAC system –
Non ducted Split Air Conditioning system as per OEM Standard with necessary
accessories for switchgear & Transformer room.
HVAC Control panel – 1 no.
Heat load for Transformer room is 25 kw
Heat Load for Switchgear room is 7 kw.

g) Stairs, platform –
Demountable structure with stairs, platforms and banister upto container height shall
be provided.
Container will be installed on a civil foundation which has a height of 1 meter from the
levelled ground.

h) Note –
Suitable wall penetration shall be provided for taking out LV bus duct connected to
the LV panel installed in the container.
