EDUROAM WIFI CONNECTION SETTINGS

Eduroam is a (education roaming) is the secure, worldwide roaming wireless network developed for the
international research and education community.

1. To connect to Eduroam in the University environs, login to your student portal. Click on the
Eduroam menu to view your login credentials as shown below.

Use the credentials above to connect to Eduroam.

NB: Ensure that you enter correctly the username and password as provided.
These are the common problems are experienced when trying to access eduroam wifi.

1. Phone Connection

These are step by step problems faced and how to solve them

1. Fail to connect.

2. Long press on eduroam wifi then click forget.

3. After you forget, select eduroam to enter your credentials.

It will display the following content, for others you will have to click on advance options in order
to display the full content.
4. Enter your username (school email) and password (reg. number), Ignore anonymous identity.

In phase 2 authentication select

MSCHAPV2

In CA certificates

Select do not validate

Or

Unspecified

Or

None

5. After you finish select connect.

 It will connect only if you have entered the correct credentials as stated in the student portal.

2. Laptop connection
Steps on how to troubleshoot if connection problems like this arise
1) Failed to connect

This connection problem is prompt by out-dated network drivers

2) Go to device manager and open or simply search device manager and open.
3) When it opens it will display the following contents,
4) Select on network adapters,

right- click to
display more

Click on
update
drivers

Its best to update all the network drivers.

NOTE: there must be internet access in order to update……..one can either use
Ethernet cable to get internet access or one can simply buy phone internet bundles and
connect the laptop to the internet via hotspot and then update.

It will automatically search for any updates online and download the updates if
need be

After it has completed the process it will display the drivers found. Close the window
and try to connect to eduroam wifi again.

It should now connect successfully.

Note: it’s important to regularly update all your device drivers
