Procedure to Initially Set or Reset T Axis Zero Position

NOTE #1: At this point the following conditions are assumed to be true:
 Parameter #1815 Bit #5 = 1 (Absolute Pulse Coders - Each Axis is listed in this parameter)
 If this is an initial power-up, after setting this bit to 1, you must
cycle power before proceeding!
 Parameter #1815 Bit #4 = 1 (Absolute Pulse Coder Zero).
 The Axis Motor has rotated one revolution with the Absolute Pulse coder connected, and
the Main Power was cycled Off and On.

NOTE #2: Keystrokes in this procedure are indicated as follows: [Brackets] indicate a soft
key, (Parentheses) indicate input from MDI Panel, “Quotations Marks” indicate input from
Operator Panel.

PROCEDURE:

1. With the Power off, manually rotate turret so Station #1 is under ram. Then put the shot
pins in. Manually override the solenoid valve to operate the shot pins. This solenoid valve
is located on the opposite side of machine frame from the operator. The Turret Drive is
located behind the cover at the rear of frame. (See pictures below).

2. Verify that the shot pins go in smooth on both the top and bottom turret bushings. (If the
shot pins do not engage and disengage smoothly, then the turrets will require mechanical
correction for scissoring). Note: The Torque for lock screws of the pulley is 14.0 nm or
123.9 inch lb. Loosen the bolts on the thrust collar, (use 5mm Allen Wrench) then use a
light tap on three equally spaced heads of loosened locking screws will release the
connection. Tighten the bolts in ¼ turn increments in a criss-cross pattern sequence until
the specified tightening torque is reached. (See picture below).
Adjust Top and Bottom Jack Shaft Pulleys to correct for scissoring
(See thrust collar procedure in step 2).

3. Place control in “E-Stop”.

4. Turn on the Control and set "Parameter Write Enable" parameter to ONE.
Select “MDI” Mode on the operator panel.
Press function key for (OFFSET SETTING) on the keypad of the MDI panel.
Press soft key [SETING] for chapter selection, on the Display screen.
Enter "1" on the keypad, then press (INPUT) on the MDI panel.
Alarm P/S 100 "PARAMETER WRITE ENABLE" appears.
Press (RESET) to clear the 100 Alarm.

5. Enter Parameter 1815 bit #4 =0, [APZ] for T Axis. (A message / alarm will appear
requiring the control to be turned off – ignore this alarm).

Note: To enter a Parameter:

Select “MDI” Mode on the operator panel.
Press function key for (SYSTEM) on the keypad of the MDI panel.
Press soft key [PARAM] for chapter selection, on the Display screen.
Enter "1815" on the keyboard.
Press [NO. SRH] The display will now show Parameter “1815”
Use cursor key to select “Bit #4” [APZ] for T Axis
6. Next: Enter Parameter 1815 bit #4 =1 [APZ] for T Axis. (A message / alarm will appear
requiring the control to be turned off).

7. Turn the control OFF, and then back ON.

8. With the control on, clear “E-Stop”.

9. Press (Reset) to clear alarms.

10. Press the “Home” Push Button to zero the Axis.

11. To verify that the zero point is correct with the shot pin location, check the Servo Error
diagnostic as follows:

To Display the Diagnostic Screen:

Press function button (SYSTEM) on the control panel
Press soft key [DGNOS] for chapter selection, on the Display screen.
Key in the Servo Error Diagnostic number: 300
Press soft key [NO. SRH] for chapter selection on the Display screen.
The Diagnostic for “Servo Error” of each axis will be Displayed.

While watching the Diagnostic 300 for T Axis and indexing the Turret station to
station, check when the shot pins enter the Turret, the error count on the display
should be less then 30 counts. If the error count is higher then 30 counts then
perform the whole procedure to reset of T axis zero again.

12. After you complete the procedure, turn “Parameter Write Enable” back to ZERO. See
step 4.
