Period 9 Saint Project Nikhai Hill- Green

1. Saint Paul-
2. His name was Sal until He was baptized and his name changed to Paul. Before his baptizum his job was to hunt
down Christians and kill them for being believers. He traveled and spread Christianity through preaching to
Christians and writing letters to communities. He was arrested and put in prison for preaching in Rome but that
did not stop him. He got out of jail continued preaching and was sentanced to 2 more years in prison. This time he
did not get out of prison he was beheaded. Paul shows everyone that no matter how bad you live your life you can
always turn in around.

4. St. Michael the Archangel- is the leader of all angels in the army of God. He has 4 jobs to do. First, to combat
Satan. Second, to excort the righteous to heaven. Third, to be a champion of Christianity. Forth, to call all men to
heaven to their judgement. He is only mentioned in the bible 4 times but is a huge part of the bible. He shows
people how to be Heros behind the scenes and protect what you believe in.

6. St. Nicholas- Is the Chief Priest of Christians and had a calling at a young age. He did something great in his
middle age years, He gave 3 girls everything he had because their dad was going to send them into prostitution.
He was imprisoned and when he was freed he instantly went among royalty and plegded with them by asking to
free the innocent. He represents sacerice and persistance because of his acts. Also, He stands for love because
both of his parents died when he was young but he continued on the right path.

8. St. Matthew- He is the patriant saint of Bunkerds. Also, he was a tax collector for Rome. Then one day Jesus
came to his tax office and said "Follow me". One command is all it took for Mathew to leave everything behind
and to become a follower of Christ. He later on became one of Christ's 12 Disciples. He wrote his gospel, which is
the first book of the new testament. He shows the commitment that everyone should have for Christ, That we
will leave everything and follow Christ at the end of time.

St. Sebastian-
9. He was a Roman guard, although he was a Christian he managed to keep his faith hidden because if Rome
found out he was a Christian he would be killed. He helped many prisoners convert to Christianity and preached
to them. He was discovered by Rome and sentanced to death by being put on a tree and getting arrows shot at
him. He is the Patriant saint of all athletes because he risked his life to show people the way to Christ and that is
what all athletes should strive to do

Mary, Mother of God-


10. She is the patriant saint of all humanity and is know as "Mary the virgin". Her parents were saints and at a
young age she took a vow of virginity. She was visited by the angel Gabrial and agreed to have the birth of Jesus.
She visited her cousin Elizabeth and Joesph on many accassions to discus her preganacy. She went to Bethloham
to give birth to Jesus and raised the son of God. She took on one of the greatest challeneges of all time and did
not shy away from greatness.

11. St. Valentine-


12. He is the patriant saint of epolepcy. His faith was tested many times in his life. He told to make his blind
daughter see to prove the abilities of God and he did just that. He was later imprisoned for spreading
Christianity and preaching to people. He was sent to Rome and got along really good with the Ruler. However
the ruler was not a Christian and one day Valentine tried to convert him and the ruler had him beheaded. He
represents people who will spread their faith in God at all cost.

13. St. Teresa of Avila-


14. she is the patriant saint of the religious. She was obsessed with martyrs and saints. When she was 7 she
convinced her brother to become a martyr with her. When she was 14 her mother died and she turned to the
virgin Mary as her mother. She was really sick and had many holy moments. Also she practiced Martification.
She had her first vision of Christ after that and began converting Spanish women to Christianity. She represents
people who have devoted their lives to God to the point that they will die.

15. St. Patrick-


16. He is the patriant saint of ireland. His symbol is a 4 leafed clover. He used his symbol to explain the holy trinity.
He lived a difficult life. When he was young he was captured and sold into slavery. Later, he said that brought
him closer to God. He represents the less fortunate but still faithful.

17. St. Josephine Bakhita-


18. She was kidnapped and sold into slavery, her first owner beat her after protecting his son, she was sold and
beaten daily. Then she was found by a religious man and she was converted to Christianity. She is the patriant
saint of sudan and is a sign of forgivness for people to see.
