To: SEA 30 Tuesdays & Thursdays classes
Foot tour: To be undertaken between September 1 & 30, 2017
Deadline of Reports: October 1, 2017

Memo: As part of your Asian Emporium studies, I want you to take the Pasig Ferry from Guadalupe and
Escolta Station. Then proceed to the following places: The National Museum of the Philippines on Padre
Burgos Drive, City of Manila, Philippines, and Fort Santiago. When done, write your observations having
in mind the significance of the sea in the Malay world. If you become tired, go home and visit the sacred
places next time. There are four sacred places where you can feel and experience what we call the Asian
Emporium. If you will notice, various cultural traditions, i.e. religion, objects, food, people ideas, etc. are
in constant flux. Choose one and immerse yourself.
