OUR MANAGING PARTNER
STEVEN LIM HOO TECK
C.A. (M), C.P.A., ACTIM
Qualified as an accountant in 1988,
Steven Lim has kick-started his
accounting career with a remarkable
milestone as a straight-passer in the
Malaysian Association of Certified Public
Accountants (now known as MICPA)
examinations and completed all the three
levels within three years. Although he has
excelled academically and was also
awarded with the Best Performance prize
for the Law II (Company Law) paper,
Steven Lim never cease to acquire new
skills, knowledge and experiences for
greater personal growth and
development.
With more than two decades of
experience in the public accounting
practice, of which 10 years were spent
with major international accounting firms,
Steven Lim consistently keep himself
abreast with the latest accounting,
auditing and business trends.
His accounting profession began in 1984
as an audit assistant with Messrs
Mustapha Law, a six-partner auditing
firm, where he has served for five years.
After acquiring his qualification as a
Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.), he
joined the renowned international
accounting firm of Price Waterhouse
(currently known as
PricewaterhouseCoopers) Kuala Lumpur
for two years. In addition, Steven Lim has
also accumulated years of experience
working for various reputable companies,
for instance, Coopers & Lybrand,
Singapore, as an Audit Manager.
During his more than 22 years of public
accounting experience, he has handled
large audits of multinational and public-
listed companies as well as small and
medium-sized audits of companies
engaged in trading, manufacturing,
banking, plantation, hotel, construction,
property holding and service industries.
Apart from that, he has also been
responsible for initial public offer (IPO)
assignments, acquisition reviews and
investigation works.
As a results of his relentless efforts in
pursuing new knowledge, skills and
experience, Steven Lim has continued
to progress in his accounting career.
He is a Chartered Accountant and a
member of the Malaysian Institute of
Accountants (MIA), the Malaysian
Institute of Certified Public Accountants
(MICPA) and the Chartered Tax
Institute of Malaysia (CTIM).
He currently serves as the Managing
Partner in his audit practice, Messrs
Steven Lim & Associates. Owing to his
multi-faceted capabilities and
experiences, currently, Steven Lim also
acts as Independent Director and
Chairman of the Audit Committee for
Malaysia Steel Works (KL) Berhad, a
Main Market company listed on Bursa
Malaysia Securities Berhad.
